The clerk at the Penske agency in Corvallis was a first class jerk. No hello, but only an "it's going to be a while". 20 minutes later "If you got furniture pads they have to be folded or it's $25.00/dozen" - at which point I lost it because the pads were DEFINITELY not folded when I got the truck. Next: the people in front of me took two friggin hours to to deal with because the trucks they had ordered were not available. Now this is largely beyond the control of the local agency, but for heaven sake take care of other customers while you are waiting for the issue to be resolved! HELPFUL HINT TO POTENTIAL RENTERS: Penske is a fantastic operation. However, it is very definitely worth making a trip to Portland to rent your truck, simply because the local agency simply does not have access to the fleet that PDX does, and DEFINITELY does not care about your business.

Note: Used these folks again for more moving and their service continues to be above the rest. My trash is still full. They are known for their terrible customer service. Unfortunately, they are the only Trash service in the area, if there were anyone else I would leave them in a heartbeat. We had to contact them again and again as we continued not receiving our bins. Representatives were either an incompetent A.I. that could not comprehend this issue, or we were told that "the team is on it" with no date to expect service and no clarification of the correct address. After constantly emailing and calling for the thousandth time, we have an 'expected' date to receive our bins, a whole month later than when we originally scheduled, and no compensation was offered whatsoever. Horrible company to work with. If you call them, anticipate wasting your time speaking to a completely unhelpful A.I. robot, and do not expect any of your issues to be resolved.

Wow, such a relief to find such great movers to work with! It's been awhile since i worked with a…read moremoving company (like 10+ years, lol), so i felt like i had to start over with reading all the reviews, calling and leaving messages... Ultimately, what i was looking for was a reasonable rate, and someone who would treat us and our stuff respectfully. I probably interacted with about a dozen different moving companies and went with Marley's for a few reasons. First, everyone I dealt with was friendly and helpful. Marley's was the ONLY company I was able to get a live person in the evening. Now I get that people need time off from work, lol... but the guy who answered was one of the movers and was just a really nice, cool guy to talk with. Gave me a rough idea of cost, not sales-y at all, and recommended i call their office the next day to get more info, confirm best days they'd be available and so on. And I spoke to Kathy? i think it was. But again, she was super nice, friendly, not trying to sell me on anything. Just happy to help, see what days/times they had available. She let me know a range for the cost (b/c they don't exactly know how long the job will be). We were moving from Corvallis to Bend. And when i compared the rates of renting a one-way Uhaul vs Marley's, the cost was pretty close. In the end I think we spent about 100-$150 more than renting a Uhaul. BUT... they did all the lifting, driving and i didn't have to fuss w/ going and picking up a truck, dropping it off, paying for gas, having it inspected, etc. The other thing I had forgotten about is when you work with professional movers they REALLY know how to pack stuff safely. They have all the rope, ties, blankets, etc. needed to make sure stuff gets packed in safely for the ride over the mountain pass. Had I done this myself, i would have had to pay extra for all those things and odds are i wouldn't have done as good a job. Plus the movers were great guys. Did a great job being respectful of our stuff, nothing was getting tossed around. They were folding up carpets to make sure they didn't get damaged, again just an all-round great experience. Would't hesitate to use them again and if you're considering a move, i'd recommend giving them a call. They're so easy/friendly to talk with and you won't have to worry about getting pressured into anything :D
