Beware of Bait-and-Switch Sales Tactics at This Location…read more THE SALE: We specifically requested premium Crizal HR coatings and XTRActive Polarized Transitions lenses that would darken while driving. THE "WAIT 3 MONTHS" TRAP: When the lenses didn't darken in the car, staff told us to give them three months because they would get darker over time. We followed their advice, which pushed us past the 30-day window. THE REVEAL: Within two months, the lenses were also severely scratched. When we later reviewed the order with LensCrafters, we discovered we had received neither the Crizal HR coating nor the XTRActive Polarized Transitions lenses we specifically requested and were told we were getting. THE BLAME: Management then told us we were past the 30-day return window, wanted about $1,400 for replacement lenses, and said we should have caught the abbreviated product descriptions on the receipt. You shouldn't need an optometry degree to decode a receipt and make sure the salesperson ordered what was requested and promised. This is about trust, and LensCrafters completely lost ours.

Person on the phone said yes. When we get to the appointment and she is being seen, the Dr said we don't normally take kids under 10 or 12. And of course he is having issues. Long story short after 2 separate visits and given a prescription which was 100% wrong. My daughter could see even less wearing the glasses. We were told to take her somewhere else. It's like they just wanted to bill our insurance twice. Because now that I'm asking insurance for another evaluation LensCrafters doesn't respond to the first 2 letters and with just a couple days left of their window to respond/ dispute they request to be sent over the paper work again. Pushing my daughter reevaluation out longer than the normal 30 day period. They made the mistake. They told us to go somewhere else. Now they won't even submit the documents needed so she can see a different Dr.

This is an optical place for people who truly view their eyewear as jewelry. All three I've purchased (over the course of almost a decade) are ones I regularly wear. The glasses simply don't break like the ones I've bought elsewhere. And when they have small issues--chips, uncomfy nosepads--the folks here take care of them almost always without charge. Black Optical is a story of "you get what you pay for" in every sense.

A very good experience and excellent customer service…read more The location is in the St. Louis Galleria Mall on the second floor. Signage is excellent. When my son was looking for a new pair of glasses, he started here. He already had his prescription and wanted to look over frames. They have a wide selection and was really surprised how good it actually was. Service really stood out to me on the time the employee spent with my son looking at different frames. Ultimately, he decided to purchase elsewhere, but it was an extremely good experience service wise. The price point I felt was affordable considering these days optometry services have skyrocketed. Who knows in the future with my son living in St. Louis if he may return, but there was nothing negative whatsoever about our visit. He was treated very well and I would recommend.

This LensCrafters is not what it use to be. I feel bad that I have to take a star away from them,…read morebut the customer service has declined on my last visit. Prior visits the sales associates were hustling and bustling helping you find the perfect frame. Now, they just sit at their desk or stand around and talk to each other. After I made my selection, all by myself, her attitude was condescending as she checked me out. Don't talk down to your customer, we're why you have a job and are there working. I also saw a difference in the quality of frames that were on display. I know Luxottica owns LensCrafters and many of the brands they offer in the store. So it was disappointing to see a drop in the product quality. When my glasses were ready and I came in to pick them up, the service wasn't much better. They handed them to me and asked if I could see clearly. I was so tempted to say, "Yes, I can see I will not be coming back here for future frames." Seriously, they truly did deserve a 2 Star rating, but I like Antoine Eye Care that is attached to the store. That is why I only dropped them to a 3 Star rating. In the future, I get my eyes checked at Antoine and take my prescription somewhere else.

Guy who booked my appt says 'i'm sorry, but we have a 10 min grace period' Me: "She literally just told me to come in?!?" Front desk guy: "She's new, I'm sorry. That's our policy" So who trained her? You? So effectively you are responsible. This is a dumpster fire of a business. Horrible customer service. A dying industry and with a bit of research (I'll post a follow-up this week), one can see just how much $ is being extracted from 'patients' when the assistant is on auto-pilot b/c the tech does all of the heavy lifting. Had a broken pair of glasses that were only a few months old. One of the arms just fell off. No fault of anyone. Put them on a side table, picked them up and the arm came clean off the frame. No break. Took two weeks and 2 days to get them back, after being told a week. I finally called and magically they had just come in that day. Picked them up about an hour after I called them. Then about three weeks after that, they broke again, this time we realized that while they broke in the same spot, they were different frames. Okay great. They had replaced the glasses, not fixed them. So back to Rosen to get them fixed again. Not a break, they had fallen apart. After several minutes I was told that the charge to repair would be over 100 dollars. Really? They had already been repaired once. I feel like they lied to me about the first fix. I feel like they had the frames in stock and when I called they put his lenses in a new pair because they had not been repaired in the two weeks before I finally called them, then when the new ones broke, (totally different style "arm"), they wanted to charge me over 100 bucks to fix them. I asked for a copy of the prescription, took a couple of minutes and left. Went to another optometrist the same day, they fixed the glasses while we waited and gained three new patients. No charge btw. I would not recommend Rosen to anyone, ever. Oh and we weren't crazy about them after the visit in January as the optician who "helped" with trying on frames didn't say more then ten words to us and made my grandson uncomfortable and feeling rushed. Husband and I had planned on all using the same eye doc and we are, but it is NOT Rosen. 8 star docs, 3 star staff, 0 star customer service. Plenty of other choices out there!
