I'm pretty confident in the care. The residents such as the one who examined me recently tend to take lots of time to explain various conditions and options. Now I understand why one of my eyes cant be corrected to the same degree as its mate, an improvement over last year. I never know which doctor or provider I will see. They seem to work interchangeably. That may be the reason that I don't feel I'm known or seen as a person, even though they seem to know quite a lot about my "rare disease", which is a big bonus for my health. One caution if you go there: watch out for the rolling chairs in the exam room with all the medical equipment to examine, measure and photograph various parts of your eyes . read more

My husband has been a patient at Keotting Eye Center (doctors Costillano,they are brothers) for over 15 years and I have been a patient for about 9 years. I love that they have a room with about 7 different tests for your eyes and then you get taken into a private room for an additional exam with the Doctor. I don't know how long they've been in business, but I know they are very well established in the area at Brentwood and I will not go anywhere else other than theiradditional location in Ellisville. Both locations have a huge selection of designer frames. I have referred several friends to Koetting Eye Center and they have had wonderful experiences as well. The doctors are very attentive and will not rush you. I feel like I'm with family when I go here. I I always get checked for Contacts and regular glasses. DO NOT RECOMMEND! Doctor has no interest in your eyes, the whole staff just cares about getting you in and out as quick as possible. I left with a prescription worse than what I had before - I was told to correct this I would have to pay for a whole new appointment because I didn't pay to be apart of some sort of subscription club (just another cost they try hitting you with).. I have worn glasses or contact lenses since I was 10 years old. So I have had my share of eye examinations and I am here to tell you the best is Koetting Associates. You will get the most extensive and thorough eye examination you have ever experienced. As you are being examined, you'll wonder why your previous doctor never did each of the test that KA completes on your eyes. Before you enter the examination room for your vision, you are taken to a separate room for approximately 8 different test. These extra test, is what puts them ahead of the class. Being over 40 now and having monovision, I appreciate the extra time they take making sure my distance and closeup vision are both good. I got to my 8:45 appointment on time. I waited 20 minutes for the various fancy diagnostic tests. Then I go back to the waiting room for another 10 minutes. They they lead me to exam room where I proceed to wait another 10 minutes. Then a tech does the whole "1 or 2" thing. She leaves and I wait another 10 min for the doctor. He doesn't really look at my eyes at all or go over the results of all the tests I went through, not even the one they charged me extra for. He tells me I can go to the eyeglass part to get my prescription. I go there and the lady tries to sell me glasses even though I told her most frames don't fit my face. In total I spent $180, not exactly sure of my eye health, not sure if my prescription is even correct, was there an hour and a half in mostly waiting. This was place was not worth my money or time. read more

As a person visiting optometrists and opthamologists starting at the age of 2 and 1/2 years old, I have much experience to compare offices and doctors. My parents finally took me to Dr. Robert Searfoss, a pioneer in using eye and vision training, who was not a surgery proponent for children unlike much of the medical field of the 70s. He improved my vision through hard contact lens wear, eye exercises and training my brain. He retired and on to his successor. Finally I asked for a reference from my optical supplier here in town and he said, "Castellano is the best. Here is is his number." And he was right. I have been a patient for I believe 10 years now. I am very happy not only with Dr. Castellano's ability and expertise, but also his professionalism. His sons are following in his footsteps. The office is run like a well oiled machine and everyone is willing to help you. As a tour operator & director I'm in and out of the country and in and out of town frequently. Took my 10 year old grandson to Koetting Associates to get contacts. Had tried several times before at other Eye Care chain stores and was not able to get him to wear or try them.
