And the best part was that they had my frames and prescription in stock, so I got my glasses the same day! I have never had that happen in all the years I've been getting glasses. I am a sensitive person. Lets just get that out in the open. I also have some random things wrong…read morewith my eyes including an issue with the pigment coming off of my eyes and gathering in some weird way and also including the blood vessels encroaching on my corneas. I am vaguely aware of these conditions but they are fine as long as they are checked yearly. Really not a big deal. So I go to a doctor at Empire Vision just because I need a new contact prescription and the doc realizes I have these eye problems and proceeds to yell at me for not bringing my medical records with me. Also, he won't give me a new contact prescription because he says that contacts are damaging my eyes and I need to test out some new special contact brands to find one that I like and THEN he will prescribe them. Too bad I live in Washington, DC and am incapable of going along with his plan to test them for 10 days and have him check my eyes again. So now I have to wait until December to try out the samples he gave me so I can go back over winter break (I am in school) so he can check my eyes then. I would rather never see him again in my life but now I feel trapped into following through on this so I can just get new contacts. I will definitely be asking to see a different doctor at least. And I guess I would rather not permanently mess up my eyes so if he thinks particular contacts would help that then okay, I am game. He was just really abrupt and short with me and dismissive of my questions. I felt berated and terrified of him and then tossed out his door. My dad was waiting outside the exam room and when I saw him I burst into tears. It took me a while to get a hold of myself and to finish the appointment with the super nice woman who gave me the sample contacts and checked me out. I wish I remembered the name of the doctor who emotionally scarred me but I will update this if/when I find it out.
