This is an amazing clinic and doctor. I have had glasses for over 35 years and have been to many…read moreeye doctors during that time and have never come across a better doctor and clinic before. I have an eye disease that they have been tracking and helping me for 10 years now and every visit has been perfect. Every visit has been highly professional packed with top notch customer service. While their location is a little more difficult to access than other clinics, parking limitations, it's worth the extra time needed to get in. Once in though there is very little waiting time as they make sure to schedule visits to ensure the whole team gives me the best care and service. They make you feel like your very important and know me by name. At one point my eye glasses came back to them not correct from the manufacture and before they gave them to me they sent them back to be fixed. Because it took twice as long to get my new glasses they insisted on purchasing me a second pair of glasses at no charge to me. They also gave me a nice bedside glasses case to safely store multiple glasses. During the pandemic I did have trouble getting in and had to buy my new glasses from another doctor and whole year of suffering through them enforced the fact I should have insisted of going to Mertins. I was inspired to write this post because one review here on Yelp claimed they didn't try and fix the issue they had and they were "rushed" through their appointment. My response to that is this does not track to any previous experience of mine whatsoever and I can only conclude that there is information this reviewer is not disclosing for their own self-interests or just did try and let the office know the problems they had like I did with the "other" clinic who sold me bad glasses. Truth is, they would have also tried to to fix them had I taken the time to go back and asked for help in a respectful manner. If someone like me, an average guy who walked off the street to get an eye exam, can book an appointment and get the care they have given me anyone could. It's not like I'm the "friends and family" or "all-star" customer. In addition, being "rushed" through an exam seems to be a matter of perspective as how much time does it actually take to do an exam? I'm not sure what else they wanted other than sitting around waiting for the doctor. My guess is this customer, had they spent more time, would have complained about how long they took. Also, as I have figured out over the years, taking an eye exam requires the patient to carefully work through the exam and ensure you give your best responses to the doctor. Coming out with the wrong prescription falls in the lap of the customer as they are the one who tells the doctor if what they came up with actually corrected their vision. My advice, when going through an exam, is to slow yourself down and make sure you communicate to the doctor your best responses and ensure that your responses are accurate. After all the doctor can't see what you see. Only you can! Seriously, I believe that some people here on Yelp are actually the worst customers and feel empowered to write a review that draws the most attention to themselves and have unrealistic expectations that exceeds the limitations of the business. I hate to use the term, but Yelp really does draw in the "Karens" of this world as it allows them to voice their entitlement without any care to the hard working people that serve them. If you are trying to decide on a doctor do not give any credence to the post I refer to and give the good doctor a shot. Pro-tip to the reviewer. You are not the King of England and even if you are try treating people with kindness and respect. Being a customer doesn't entitle you to be treated as royalty. The customer can be wrong, remember the Golden rule, and offer grace over mercy like you expect for yourself. In the end you will always "draw more flies with honey". Post note... If there are spelling or grammatical errors on this list it's because I went to bed with my with my glasses on last night and broke them. I now have to use the old glasses the other clinic sold me and I can't see my phone correctly. I fully expect Mertins will have their glasses fixed for me with zero issues!

When I reported the problem and requested the doctor maybe suggest a different medication - DEAD END. NO CALL BACK. No follow up. just treated horribly and then ignored. Made comments about 20 minutes in, "it was taking longer than most" appointments. Also mentioned i was free to get a second opinion and he didn't need my business. Needless to say, I am trying to find another place to go. I will pay the hundred dollar deductible. They wanted me to make a decision which level of cataract surgery I wanted with no information or suggestion about what I needed. He said to come back in 3 weeks for a reevaluation if I chose one of the premium lenses. Then i was sent directly to the girl who schedules surgery. When I explained to the girl at the front desk , I was not ready to schedule a surgery. Then I was sent to the financier. This obviously did not clear up any of my questions. Then I was sent to the counselor. After going through all this, I felt like it was the first time they were explaining things about procedures and options they we're not able to satisfy, My questioning about levels of lenses or what would be best for me. But they were ready to have me pick one? Yes, I did.Watch the six mini videos they sent on my phone that were two minutes apiece. I could not pick a star rating because it's two separate issues. I believe they are capable of doing the job.Excellently. The staff and the building are very professional. Clean and capable looking. The staff was excellent. I would give them a four star. Now the doctor on the other hand may have had a bad day or something. But he is the reason i would give a one star based on he could not satisfy the questions, and I feel that it was his job, and also was about as close as you could get to the word rude. Whoever tells a client/patient , they don't need their business? For that visit on that day the doctor definitely a one star.
