Won't be back. Overcharged at every step. Glasses are poorly made, and I can hard see out of them.

Arkansas Retina Clinic - how I felt after laser surgery repairing my retina

It's a given that Dr. Riley Sanders was going to provide master-level care. After all, he's The…read moreRetina Specialist. He gave me tests and did things to me that I've never experienced before. Oh my! I saw things that some of my classmates paid good money to see 50 years ago. When I complimented him on his staff, he didn't downplay it with false modesty. He said, "I know. We worked hard to develop this culture, and we feel like we're successful." Yeah, man! Speaking of the cultured staff, I was greeted by a stary-faced lovely lady at the front desk. I pointed to a cartoon on her wall and asked if she was making fun of me. She laughed and said no, it was to remind her that she was not an insurance expert. The first tech I saw was a very kind and gentle person. He explained each step as we went along. Some people demonstrate their expertise with strong, complicated words and an authoritative tone. Nope. He had no ego to prove. He knew his biz and I was completely at ease with him in charge. The second tech was fun and very interactive. She is definitely someone's favorite sister and a kid's favorite aunt. By the time it was her turn, my eyes were nothing but huge pupils from my too-short psychedelic experience. She said the reason for her red scrubs was so that blinded people like me could follow the color down the hall to the next room. She chaired me and we did our dance together. Then she paused. She went and got the first tech who came in and guided her in making a change. There was no hint of the experienced old-timer being bothered by the younger less-experienced. It was almost like they were ... a team, even. Borderline besties. I told Dr. Sanders that I changed a variety of healthcare providers in the past because of staff, regardless of the White Coat I came to see. He said they knew of that danger, which is why they gave as much attention to the ideal staff as they did their own expertise. Nobody wakes up and says, "Hon, ya wanna run to Moka Joe's for breakfast and then maybe later we can pick up some lumber from Home Depot and then have laser surgery at Arkansas Retina Clinic?" However, I really have to give them my praise for unmatched service beginning with text reminders plus a phone call before my appointment all the way through a fun payment experience when I left.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE! I STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU CHOOSE SOMEONE ELSE! We ordered 3 pair of…read moreglasses; 2 pair of Clear Glasses ... and then my eye caught a pair of Ray-Ban Sunglasses. I asked that they add a Gradient Tint and Flash Mirror Coating. They asked if I wanted them polarized and I said yes. They tallied the bill to $1,016. and some change, that is... above what the insurance paid. We paid the bill and waited for the glasses. After two weeks of not hearing back, we decided to call and find out when they would be ready. They asked for another week to which we agreed. On 01/31 (ish) ... we got the call saying our regular glasses were ready, but they were still working on the sunglasses! ((NEARLY A MONTH AFTER WE ORDERED THEM!)). Randy went to pick them up. He got our glasses and was told the sunglasses should be ready "any day now". When I got my glasses, the nose pad was so twisted out, that I could not wear them. It was so twisted I wondered if that was intentional ... because it was so twisted the were unwearable. I don't know if it was intentional or not, but what I do know is that I've NEVER seen a pair of glasses where the nose pad was so twisted that they wouldn't even sit on my face. So, I went back to have them adjusted. Rusty Harris, took them to the back and brought them back and asked me to try them. While they did sit better, he didn't adjust them to fit my face so the nose pads are still leaving little dig marks when I wear them. But, at least they were sitting level on my face. Now, I'm left waiting for "any day now" to come. After ANOTHER 2 WEEKS of not hearing from them I called to check. They assured me that it should be "any day now" so again, I agreed to wait. On Feb. 14th, I got the call they were in and are ready for pick up. So, Randy went the same day to pick them up. When he arrived, he saw that the Brown Gradient glasses I ordered were tinted blue. He told Rusty that this is not what I ordered. Rusty responded by saying, "Well, this is what's on the order". My husband said that he couldn't speak to what was on the order but he was sure I wanted brown gradient lenses because he heard me order them. Rusty Harris told him that they are blue because of the polarization on the lenses. So, he decided to bring them to me and let me see them, rather than to argue with someone that was clearly not listening. When I saw them, I was disappointed that they were not what I ordered and told Randy we would have to return them. On February 16th, I went back to the store and told Rusty Harris that these were not what I ordered to which he responded, "Well, that's what was on the order". I told him that I had no idea what was on his order because I didn't create it, but if he would go and get the lady that created the order, I'm sure she would verify that the correct order. Rusty Harris said that he would handle it (rather than get the lady that took the initial order) to which I said, fine. Then, with quite an attitude he said to me, "Now, you just need to tell me how you want me to change your order so that I can have them remade ... but I can tell you I'm only going to do it once!" to which I replied, "I don't want you to change the order, I just want you to make them the way I ordered them the 1st time ... I just want the brown gradient lenses with the flash coating that I ordered." At that point, he picked up the sunglasses and hit them on the counter and pushed them towards me and said, "You better be careful!" I didn't respond because at this point, he had me in a position where I had already paid nearly $500. for glasses that I did not want. After a minute or two of just staring at him, he finally said, "Do you want me to fix them" to which I responded, "Yes, I want you to fix them". He took them and I asked how long it would be before they were ready. He said he would have them done in about 5 or 6 days, to which I said, that's fine, I can wait another week. Once again, there was no communication from Vision Plus. So, I called again to check on them on or about February 28th to find out if they were ready. I spoke to a lady that assured me he sent the order in and was just waiting for them to come back from the lab. She said they really were expecting them "any day now" and would let me know as soon as they arrived. On March 5th, I called Vision Plus again to find out the status of the sunglasses. (This is literally 2 MONTHS after I ordered them and nearly A MONTH after I asked them to correct them). Again, they informed me that they hadn't gotten them back from the lab, but they would be there soon because the lab told her they had shipped them and they were just waiting. I asked for a tracking number to which she said the lab hadn't given her one. So, I explained that I would be out of town from March 6 - March 14. I said to her that while I appreciate her being so polite and professional, I was frustrated because

Child had appointment, insurance was given to them when appointment was made (4 DAYS PRIOR) and the day before. They were told over the phone that the insurance was Aetna. Nothing was said that they don't take Aetna. Left work early, drove 30 minutes to pick up child, drove 30 minutes back to Fort Smith. Show up for appointment 15 minutes early and notified at that time that they cannot see the child because they don't take Aetna. Asked them why we weren't notified of this prior to the appointment time. Office manager claims "the system was down and they just found out and they were just getting ready to call" - REALLY 15 MINUTES BEFORE THE APPOINTMENT FOR SOMEONE WHO LIVES OUT OF TOWN!!!! COME ON! YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT INSURANCE YOU TAKE WITHOUT LOOKING IN THE SYSTEM??? SO FRUSTRATING!!!!
