Walmarts all over the country have improved dramatically (eg trendier products, new signage, shelving and layouts, and more organic produce- in fact, they're the second largest retailer of organic produce by volume after Costco). This one is trying to make the pivot, but it's just not the best experience. Yes they've done some store upgrades, but their problems with pilferage mean that regular items you'd want to buy are locked up. And there are always long lines at checkout. Let me tell you about this Walmart on Brandt drive in Penfield. Shopped for about an hour, waited in checkout 20 minutes, only to be told they have no bags,NO BAGS.. What am I supposed to do, just throw all these items in my car and when I get home make 20 trips back and forth to get them in the house. They could have put a SIGN on the door that stated- NO BAGS AT THE MOMENT-MUST HAVE YOUR OWN BAGS. I know they have markers, paper, tape to put up a sign. I wasted my time shopping for nothing I wonder how many other people wasted there time. VERY VERY PISSED OFF AT THE MOMENT. WALLY WORLD GET YOUR S**T TOGETHER..... read more

This is a review for the Vision Center within this Walmart. It's located next to the pharmacy, more towards the home and garden center and not the grocery section of the store. I have always scheduled my eye exams at a Walmart Vision Center because they've been much more efficient than Lenscrafters. I went to this location's Vision Center for this first time today for an eye exam at 10 AM and was seen right away. The doctor was wrapping up with another patient but I only had to wait five minutes or so before I was seen. The staff and doctor were very friendly and able to answer my questions. The part that took the longest was when the associate who completed my checkout for new frames had to call my insurance -- I know this is not the associate's fault, but just wanted to point it out in case you're using insurance to pay. After my coverage was verified the checkout process was also nice and fast. The frame selection is decent; the Vision Center is on the smaller side but they have a good selection of men's, women's, and children's frames (plus sunglasses) ranging from $8-$150 or so. I was able to find the frames I wanted for only $9. I will definitely schedule my eye exams here in the future. I appreciated how quickly I was seen and the friendliness of the staff. This is a great option if you want a no-fuss exam without a lot of waiting time. read more

I was pleasantly surprised at how nice this place was. From the parking lot, entrance of the store to the aisles I went into. Very different then the other Walmart's I have been in. Nice location on Empire, easy to access. I went in to buy some bird seed and other bird items for work.. ( so affordable here) but since I was surprised at how nice this place was I took the time to walk around the store. I ended up purchasing a new bird feeder ( well made, hard plastic, weather proof) , bird seed, meal worm blocks and curtains. All for under $35... crazy! I am a big fan of self check outs... super fast ...in and out. I hope this store continues to stay on track, keep things clean and stocked. read more

The Webster Walmart sits back off the south side of Empire Blvd, directly across the street from the Baytown Wegmans or right behind the Chili's restaurant. The management here is doing a outstanding job with this fairly new super store. In fact, this Walmart might be the best thing that has happened to my neighborhood in a long time. I enjoy shopping for groceries here every day. The selection is wide and the quality of almost everything here is just as good as the other guy and anywhere from 10-25 percent cheaper. The variety of products here are vast and there are plenty of choices of packaging size designed to fit your needs. The aisles are wide and easy to access, and they have done a great job with the layout of the store. It makes everything easy to find and it gives the store a comfortable feel to it. Almost all of the employees here are helpful and courteous and they have 8 self check out stations as a option that are well maintained and work proficiently. I use these self check out stations all the time and they do a efficient job of getting you out of the store quickly. The rest of the store is run just as well as the grocery and produce sections and I am happy to give The Webster Walmart Superstore 4 outstanding Yelp stars. I highly recommend this super store for anyone living in the area. read more

Ok, so, today was the Grand Opening of the New Walmart Superstore, on Empire Blvd. I knew there would be a massive turn out, and that's Great, I even didn't mind the wait. However, what I have a Major Problem with, is Politicians feeling the need to speak at every, single event, no matter what the event is. Don't these people have enough air, (TV and Radio) time? I fully understand the Walmart higher up's and employees having their moment of glory, after all it is a Brand New Store, and they should be proud. After forcing everyone to listen to the Political messages, By (every single one of them), I was insulted that Walmart would allow this to happen. I left, after all, there are more than one Walmart. read more

The new Walmart looks nice, from looking on top it reminds you of a warehouse. Some people might not like that look but a store is a store! It has a hair salon at the front of the store, customer service, small Bill's merchandise store, and vision store. Basically if you have ever been to a walmart and know the layout that's what this store is. The bathrooms are clean (hope they continue) and store is clean also. Allot of employees there, they had a job fair and I think they are still hiring. They do have a can/bottle recyclable area. The only thing is that they have only 1 machine for each various recyclable. Yes the old walmart had it, but this turned into a Super one. Time to move on up..lol. read more

It is like the old one but newer and with more selection. It has a decently affordable produce market. Also, it is way more convenient to drive to than the old one nearby in Baytowne's plaza. Overall, it is an okay place to go to. Sam Walton built a good foundation. read more

The actual store is very nice, good selection of products. The majority of employees (not all) are lazy & rude. Several times I have had to drive back after getting home because they forgot all my bags. Also one time there was a woman in there up near the front end screaming at another customer she was upset with, it was quite an unpleasant experience & not 1 employee stepped in to try to divert the situation or ask that customer to leave the store. I have witnessed employees in the parking lot that clearly should be out there to bring in the overflowing carts just standing there on their phones instead. I have been in the extremely long customer service line with one person working the counter & three other employees standing there just hanging out, chatting. Definitely doesn't employ people with a good work ethic nor does the management do anything to make sure their workers are putting customers first. read more
