The reviews on here are kind of hilarious. Really I've never had a bad experience at this Wal Mart; workers are always super friendly (Carl the cashier is quite the comedian!), and they have sooo much stuff compared to our meager range of products on our side of the (stupid) border. Bathroom was still decently clean mid-day. The Paris Hilton creamers are revolting. I rarely dislike creamer flavors but seriously, jalapeño?? The cutest little man was our greeter ! So we grabbed some snacks and groceries but did not hit up the clothing section. Saturday morning but not very busy. Great deals and friendly staff when I was looking for the price of something or needed help. We check out at the self check out and we're on our way. Took about 1 minute and had a smooth check out. After reading that only Walmart plus members can use self check out which I had no idea as we just went and nobody said nada. It would Turn me off to wait 30 minutes in a line tho. My cart was completely full, and I had to get another. Before I got the extra cart, I kept on ramming it into things and things were falling out. Also, there is only one bathroom in the entire store. Also, the checkout was slow. But... I put skibidi toilet onto one of the laptops. read more

Walmart has a new way for people to pay for there items now apparently you need 15 items or less to use the self checkout and if you want to use the self checkout you have to be a Walmart plus member which is $99.99 a year for that. I would recommend choosing a new store to shop at unless you are feeling like waiting 30 minutes in line to checkout. Thanks Walmart y'all have gone down hill read more

It's Walmart, nothing fancy, just lots and lots of lower priced stuff. Clean, pretty well stocked, and wide aisles (unlike Target).

I hate Walmart. But I could always find what I needed. Now even that's gone. I'll find somewhere else to shop.

I love Walmart for excellent prices on shelf-stable name brand items such as condiments. And most locations in larger cities have a rather decent selection of reasonably priced organic produce although this store was lacking organics and the produce looked old and tired. The lack of open registers is company wide and this location was right on par. Only one full service lane open and a backup at the self service checkout. I've always been told to never purchase meat at Walmart. But I had to check out the meat department on my hunt for chili grind ground beef. They didn't have it but they had a scary selection of rotting meat. Pictures included. Don't buy meat from ANY Walmart.! read more

About 4 years ago, I was in the Plattsburgh, NY Walmart it was openning weekend at the College. What pissed me off was the 3 students, (who should know better at their age), using the motorized carts to have a go kart race inside of a very busy store while the security guard stood there holding up the wall and doing nothing to stop them. I watched these very selfish adults come close to running their carts into paying customers more than three times before one customer got pissed off and started yelling at the college students to put the carts back on the charger and get out of the store. I thought it was pathetic that the customers had to step up and do the security guard's job for him. Walmart should have paid the angry customer, for her services and fired that useless security guard. This store is legendary for the slackers that work there. I learned the hard way not to ask any WalMart employee for assistance. Instead of admiting they don't know how to help me and offering to find someone who can, they lie and send you on a wild goose chase and you still don't find what you needed. I can't believe Walmart pays for these people to waste everybody's time and chase away business. I stayed away from that store for almost 3 years. I only go in now as a last resort. I will say this in their favor though. The check out lines move faster now that their slackers have been replaced by machines. Standing in the check out for 15 to 20 minutes, waiting for the line to move is painful people like me who have spinal injuries. My last trip to the Plattsburgh store was better. They've hired a few mature and ethical adults who took the time to learn their job. Those three are the ones that show courtesty and improved customer service to the customers. I always look for them when I go there now. I've delt with these three mature adults on a few occassions and they were very helpful each time. The younger staff members need a lot of training on work ethics and their job description. They seem to think that showing up to work is all that is required of them. read more

The store workers are really not friendly towards younger and people of ethnicity/color. I was refused today to be sold alcohol despite having a valid ID and being over the age of 21. They made up a store policy where if I were with an underage person then they couldn't sell me alcohol; I explained that it was my underage sister and that we live together but they did not care. They also refused to recognize how different I was as a costumer another costumer who was a mother purchasing alcoholic beverages with her children. When I asked to see the policy I was shown a sign that stated that they ID people and nothing about sales... very disappointed in the quality of service and how the management handled the situation. read more

I ordered my groceries online for pickup at 8:00 AM, they weren't ready to be picked up until 2:00 PM? What the hell? At Target my stuff is ready in half an hour! We're only talking 6 items here! Get it together, really. On another note, the shelves are usually barren after the 1st of the month, the lines are always long and the selection is less than stellar. I'd rather drive the extra 45 mins and go to the Walmart in Malone! C'mon Plattsburgh! read more

Leaving this review whereever I can. Will no longer have my time wasted and quietly go home with my tail between my legs.... 1 out 4 visits results in out of stock items, disgraceful checkout times, or some other failure. Just home from filling my cart twice because the lack of open registers, lackadaisical cashier for my line, and annoying people in front of me who got in the express checkout but had no intention of being express meant I had to leave my cart to make an appointment on time. Left it next to the customer service desk AFTER ASKING to leave it until I was back from my appointment. Returned about an hour later to find no cart. Different people at customer service who looked blankly at me and said no one said anything about a cart being held. No attempt to find out where it went. No attempt of any kind to seem at all interested in serving a customer. Went through the store again and filled my cart with most of the same items, skipped the Propel lemon water which I wanted to get for some students of mine who have never tried it but wasn't about to crawl on their filthy floor a second time to get the case at the bottom back of the rack. Didn't get a clothing item I have looked for 3 times and is still not in stock in anything under a size 2XL. Went to checkout area. 8 people waiting at self checkout in addition to every register in there in use. OPEN SOME FLIPPING REGISTERS!!!! Pleasant young lady checked out my order and when I asked for a manager she pointed to the man setting up at the express counter behind us. After explaining the ways in which Walmart was failing today he made a few grunts as I unloaded on him (without swearing). No actual words on his part. Upon finishing my sale the young girl said she was sorry for my experience. SO SAD!! That was the manager behind us??? Why is SHE the one saying sorry? That was the icing on the cake really because to have the manager not do his job really speaks to why NO ONE ELSE THERE IS DOING THEIRS. We are 2 months away from being done paying for daycare. I will be suggesting that we no longer shop at Walmart for our groceries. It will be the gift we give ourselves with our improved finances. read more

The Mac n cheese from the deli is horrible i have tasted better from different Walmart's.

95% of the workers are rude, every single manager is rude, they are careless and incompetent. I have a service dog and they have always harassed me with her. It got to the point to where the head manager of Walmart had called me and told me to ignore his workers! It still didn't work, I still get harassed. I had to stop taking my SERVICE DOG in Walmart with me because we get yelled at so much and it just makes it harder. But now that they know who I am, even when I don't have my dog with me I still get attitude and harassed. I spend over 300$ almost EVERY SINGLE DAY to get harassed pretty much. I've even explained to them that it's illegal for them to harass me the way they do about my service dog and it will eventually be a lawsuit only to be told by one of the managers that I was a liar and she didn't care. I always see dogs in there, in carts, untrained, barking and lunging, and they never get anything said to them. This place needs new workers! read more

Absolutely horrendous customer service. No one picks up the phone, I waited for over 20 minutes to talk to manager on phone and had to hang up. In store pick up is a joke and you might as well wait for pigs to fly. I will NEVER shop in store or online in the Plattsburgh NY location. read more
