Stopped in for snacks to take on a road trip. Huge selection of all kinds of snack items. Store is clean, shelves are tidy & most are stocked well. I deducted one star because they did not have enough cashiers and we had to resort to self checkout. read more

One star for this visit because of the total lack of customer service from the guy in the automotive department. It was Sunday morning April 3 2022 I was looking for a couple of taillight bulbs but he had no idea what I was talking about nor did he even care to try and help me find them. I eventually found them but his attitude about opening the case to look and his overall lack of concern really had me wanting to tell him a thing or two about himself but I restrained and walked away. I'll stay clear of this guy if I ever encounter him again. read more

My wife is elderly and she does her own shopping there. Sometimes it takes hours to do all of her shopping because she gets over heated and must sit down. Today 04/28/2023 was such a day. She texted me that she was over heated and she sent me a selfie. We live in Grapeland, Tx and I asked her if she wanted me to come get her. No answer at first, then she said her cashier was through with her shift after her and offered to help her to her car. Tammy H. was her name. Our heart goes out to Tammy. My wife and I appreciate the extraordinary kindness she showed to a customer by helping us. God bless you Tammy. Waiting for 40 minutes to pick up groceries, finally asked about wait , they said sorry forgot to tell anyone. Also the man in the garden check out is rude, you can say thank you and he will never acknowledge you. Ask someone to help you is like pulling teeth. The layout of this store was so much different last year with electronics in the middle of the store. It's more like the other ones now but it's always a mess. Things not put away and just overall messing and unorganized. Probably a staffing issue but I don't remember a time when everything has been in its place. this definitely is one of the most disorganized stores. Posted a local missing person poster to the door and had it unceremoniously ripped down by a worker in front of me because apparently you have to get management approval first. She told me I would have to take it back inside to the orange wall to the left and ask for a manager. Went inside and there was no orange wall, never found a manager either. The cashier was unable to remove the security device on walkie talkies we bought, and instead of calling for help, told us we would need to take them to customer service ourselves to get them removed. The customer service person was argumentative and said it wasn't their job, but after a struggle finally removed the device. The visit before that we got watermelon, which we found out was completely bad when we got home. Would not recommend this Walmart to anyone. read more

Sorry this is late but on April 8 I called and was told by Brenda Goldman that the Cannon printers would arrive that day but no holds, to call back the next morning. I had a serious project I was working on and had checked Mexia, Corsicana and Waco and even on line through Walmart and Amazon with not one anywhere. So I got up early and drove from Mexia to Palestine and got there as the store opened and was able to get the printer. To my surprise Brenda recognized me from my call from the night before. What can I say except that Walmart is Walmart. I wish that this was my regular Walmart back in Houston. This particular store had the shelves stocked and plenty of cash registers open, not to mention plenty of employees on the floor who knew where everything was without the language barriers! Thank God!!! You can tell that they were getting ready for summer because everything and I mean everything was on clearance!!! The store was clean and employees were friendly! The managers in Houston could learn a thing or two from these managers here in Palestine Texas. Will definitely visit again before I head back to Houston! read more

The store itself is a pretty good place to shop. Prices are almost always hard to beat shopping anywhere else. But. I don't recommend bringing your vehicle in for any kind of work. I had a battery replaced on my car and they did not use a memory saver ( machine used to save vehicles data from being erased during install ) and my gps info and anti theft were all jacked up and not working. Glad I still had the vehicles manual for resetting the computer. Overall. Shop for groceries and stuff. Go elsewhere for vehicle maintenance read more

The lines are too long. They do not have enough real people at the registers. I wish that this store would employ more actual staff instead of depending on the self check-out system. The employees that see rarely smile and don't seem very happy. Maybe it is a management problem. My experience at this location has been poor lately. read more

Walmart Supercenter in Palestine, Texas, is the best place to shop if you are trying to save money and find what you might need at the same time. As with any business, you will continue to shop and vote with your dollars in a business where the employees respond quickly to your questions, appear to be wanting to help you in the process, and are not giving you the impression you are bothering them. I have always been assisted quickly with the correct information by employees who were interested in directing me to my product need at the time. I have never been treated rudely nor have I ever received the impression I was a bother to the employee. Walmart is an extremely popular business so you need to select the times right for you and learn the times when the lines are most prone to being the shortest. read more

Well this is follow up from previous review. Things have not improved with stocking in this store. Today produce dept was all low on common items like onions and potatoes. Milk was scarce. Couldn't find Almond Milk we usually buy, etc. All those employees standing around in yellow vests might need to look around... not to mention management. Doesn't anyone stock shelves? Since this COVID 19 virus the wonder judge in Anderson county only allowing in person per family in the store. Being a single mother with no help I had to drive 32 miles to another county to get food for myself and my daughter. Then when the the judge amended that order because it was stupid I have been repeatedly told that I can't come in with my daughter! I show the so called Walmart employee the new order from the judge and she was rude and point to the door that said one person person per family! I ignored her after telling her the new order from the judge. Walking through the the store I counted 7 other mother/grandmothers with there children and about 10 couples! So I was like yeah talk to those people! But the worst part and the reason I gave one was I was walking out of the same door that I had come in passing the same woman's she looked at me and I looked at her as I passed she said softly "B!tch" it's not my fault if the management is keeping up with the changing world events. I got tried of having to drive to another county to get food for my family! According to an attorney I spoke with I could sue Walmart for a civil rights violation because you can't by law separate a mother and her child! Well don't shop here and I will only do it if it's an emergency! read more

BEWARE OF THE AUTO SERVICE DEPT......car went in for oil change and while there CAR WOULD NOT START. They said I needed a "new battery". The vehicle has NEVER had an issue starting or any indication that the battery was going. My car is serviced at dealership every 3,000 miles. If you want to just throw your money around the go to Wal Mart auto department in Palestine Texas. I would not even give this one star, but did not give me the option. read more

It is Walmart. So it gets 3 stars just for that. That being said, this store manager needs to quit rearranging the store. It is hard to find what you are looking for if you have to search the whole store every time you go there. This store manager needs to quit ordering items that don't sell and restock the items that are flying off the shelves. Seems the policy here is to not re stock anything until the unpopular items sell. I won't buy what I don't want. If it is not here, I will go to the dollar stores to find it. Grocery prices are usually the best in town. I am happy with that as one stop shopping is so much more convenient. I also love the Marias that are cashiers, they know their business. read more
