The store feels like walking into a family reunion with all the homemade goods that grandma brings and wine with relatives. Overall, the store felt warm. Cooper Farms had samples of their fruit wine, jams, and salsa out for those who were intrigued by the interesting flavors, like the peach salsa. My friend tried out the white peach wine and said the wine went down smoothly and had a delicious taste that could be dangerous if you are not counting how many glasses you are having. We ended up buying 3 bottles of wine ($22 but buy 2 or more get them for $20 each), a peach ice cream, and a peach milkshake for the road. Cooper Farms had stands of baked goods like pumpkin pie, pecan pie, peach cobbler, and so much more. The store opens up to multiple tables of snacks when you walk in and a jam/ salsa wall on your right. Food Review: Peach Ice Cream (5/5) I would recommend this to anyone who walks through the doors. I was expecting a sorbet peach but was surprised to taste cinnamon and a nutty flavor in my ice cream. The small portion was enough to keep me full for the rest of our roadtrip back to Houston. Peach Milkshake (5/5) The peach milkshake are for the drivers who can't active scoop and eat ice cream. The milkshake was just a blended version of the ice cream. It was a perfect to-go drink if you wanted to try their ice cream but need to focus on the road. Overall, I would love to come back here with family and have them try the ice cream. Next time, I would like to try out their baked goods. 10/10 would recommend!

When we arrived we met Mary who is the third generation to run the family farm. She gave us some history of the farm, some free samples and some good conversation about growing persimmons. We got here just in time as it's the end of the season and the boxes you see in the pictures were all that were left. Here for only $38 you can buy a whole box of Fuyu persimmons. They have other varieties too, and we recommend the Fuyu because it is non-astringent. And, if they have them, pick-up a bag of their fresh pecans for $10 a bag. They were very flavorful, with hints of maple syrup. We had to force ourselves to stop eating them or we would have been without a pecan pie this Thanksgiving. If you're in the area make the stop for some fresh off the farm fruits and vegetables.

You see all the farming that is taking place as you drive into the property. This is family property and the oldest couple (Larry and Shirley) are the farmers. You see dogs relaxing around the property. You see kids fishing around the property. These mid 70s couple have their children help them sell stuff for them. The kids put in sell equity to ensure their parent's sweat equity also makes it to their households. I'll say this about their produce - if they don't think it's good, they will not sell it. They guarantee satisfaction with their watermelon. I've never heard of that before, but they do it. They are that confident about their stuff. I saw a Facebook live post with all their goods, and they were almost completely out by the time we made it there. I saw potatoes, 1 tomato, corn, watermelon, yellow squash, purple hull beans, and onions. I also saw cantaloupe, but they refused to sell it because the sweetness was not consistent from fruit to fruit. Bring cash to make it easier on everyone. Oddly enough, they do checks as well. Supporting local farmers is easy when the farmers are this friendly.

Always attitude and poor customer service. Store is always dirty. They never have enough human…read morecheckers. One or two (or none) checkout lanes open with a full store of shoppers. The lane that is open always has someone with a hundred items in their basket forcing people who don't have time to wait to the self checkout which usually is also full and has a wait. The self checkout machines function poorly and don't report half the items you scan. It always calls for an adsociate to "help" who then accuses you of not scanning items. They are horrible in dealing with people and smart alecs. One spoke to me like I was trash and did something wrong. Turns out she was wrong. Tried to double charge me for two items. Then it said two other items weren't scanned in whrn THEY WERE!. Then she refused to come back to release the machine when the same exact thing happened 30 seconds later. Just ignored me. A manager haf to come straighten it out. And then when I left he was speaking to another manager in the corner that was just glaring at me. Maybe if they hired and paid enough people to properly run the registers and checkout lines instead of having kids and trailer park trash standing around accusing people of trying to steal when the problem is their machines, just maybe this wouldn't happen. I told her I would not be coming back and that Brookshires is much cleaner anyway...she said something like so what, it doesn't matter anyway. Absolutely unnacecptable customer service and everyone should boycott Kroger in Palestine Texas.
