It is pretty new, in fact so new that some of the cooler areas are still under construction and this is the nicest convenience store I have been to in some time! Morning time you stand in lines when there is 5-10 people, only one cashier checking people out. There are several people working. At least 2-3 times a week certain fountain drinks are out, out of cups, and straws. Men's restroom is rarely clean, the corners are very dirty and the stalls, out of soap and paper towels. read more

Admittedly, the expectations for a convenience store are low. But I was impressed with this Kim's while driving through East Texas on the way up to the Dallas area. Name brand gasoline (Exxon) sold at a fair price and above average cleanliness inside both the store and the restroom. The really impressive part was the lady behind the counter genuinely thanking me for my business. That went a long way with me. read more

abusive management, ridiculous store "policies". and even worse HR people. i was abused, ganged up on, mistreated, misjudged, ended up ruining one morning, and then it ended up with me in tears. all over a soda cup. i was getting a self serve soda, cup started to break, didnt want a leak, so in that ? 3 seconds i had i grabbed a new cup and slid it under the bad cup. thought nothing of it. did my shopping, was with a friend who coincidentally i had brought in for the first time, and i walked up to counter to pay for my items. i proactively said to the clerk who was already showing a bad attitude that i had 2 cups because one was broken. she was snotty as can be and said i would be charged for 2? i was confused, and was like no didnt you undertand what i just told you. i repeated that i had a broke cup and didnt want to make a mess so i did what i did. well, still snotty as can be stood her ground. she told me, "you should have dumped the soda into a new cup, thrown away the old cup., and come up here with one." that is a quote LOL. i was dumbfounded? i am being told i handled a broken cup wrong? so now i am angry, yes i am annoyed and confused, and clueless as to what is happening here. so i tell her we are done, get a manager. her body language (since HR kims was fixated on mine) should have shown her huff and stomp off very annoyed to get the manager. manager-worse! crabby snotty look on her pinched up face, she comes out, never asks me what happened,never greets me, no niceities at all. just more crabby. she say, QUOTE, "you are going to be charged for 2!" i was blown away apparrently Kims has a policy on how to handle a broken soda cup??? so of course i was more angry, more confused. she even repeated the Kims procedure. so i said, well if that is your "procedure: how would i know this? how would i know? i did what came to me in the 3 seconds i had to react so as to not make a mess??? also while this was at this point a manager-customer issue, bad employee who started this whole thing kept trying to interject things at this point she shoud have kept her mouth shut. we were done.but she did not! then was done. i said, "i am going to call corporate, what is your name-1st to manager. she said,"i am not giving you my name."???? clerk said this also, so i said well where i come from you dont deny giving your name ever! after saying this i was kicked out of store! 57 yr old kicked out of a store for not agreeing to Kim's broken cup policy.???HR called me- even worse! they have no audio, which if you have a brain know this is the KEY to this whole thing. you have to hear what is being said to know why i go from happy as heck to angry, and confused as heck. accodring to HR Heather, on the AUDIOLESS tape i appear,"more angry" than the manager and clerk, so i must have been a BIGpart of this issue???this was not told to me, but i was told that i was very angry within 30 seconds of the HR heathers call. so in a video with no audio, i am already the problem here. according to what she is telling me. she is not smart enuff to go deeper, to look at me in tape while in store to see if i am angry. to ask the meat manager who i dealt with first, if i had a bad attitude that morning. so in 30 seconds i am already being told from what she can only see, i am very angry, which btw i never denied. of course i was! and for the record, why does it matter who gets more mad? isnt the issue why a customer was so mad, not how she react to mistreatment, and absolute abuse of something stupid?... i was having a great day, until i was mistreated, a very good day. so i will take my $500-$800 a month spent on meat for an animal rescue that they actually know about and order the extra for me. and we will now shop elsewhere. somewhere that management is educated, polite and that HR can look at the origination of an issue and not focus on who react more angry.BTW i had already decided that if HR was unable to handle this in a well thought out manner that i would not give it one more second of my time. so it is over. this cannot be fixed. read more
