Bought a lego set from here. Had to be escorted all the way to checkout by a two-man security team to make sure I didn't steal it. Same for another older couple who also bought a lego. Every time I go to this location, I shake my head. I have no idea why it's such a circus, but it makes me think about everyone from the GM Moraine factory being out on lunch break at the same time, and what chaos would ensue if they all went to one store. The truth is--the people who work there always seem to be working, and they're friendly. I never have a problem with the store itself. Mind you, this is not my local store, but I'm here every so often. The shelves seem full. That said, the customers were waiting and waiting in checkout lines. There were self-checkout machines on either end, but there were a lot of closed registers. Now, if you have that many people, why aren't there more self-checkout machines? Will people use them? I finally found a self-checkout after walking from one end to the other, but even then, we were waiting for those to be cleared. Thankfully, there was no problem in using it and I was out relatively quickly. It's not so much that I hate Walmart, but I hate the chaos of many of its stores. read more

This Walmart has the worst shoppers, and I mean the actual Walmart associates that pick orders not the 3rd party express shoppers. I think their associates deliberately give the most ridiculous substitutes even when you have an exact situation or refund. I'm disabled I can't drive I ordered a 5 foot Halloween inflatable and I selected what I was ok with substituting and if neither was available to refund....... So the associate substituted it for a 4 inch nutcracker!?!?! How the hell is that even a reasonable solution especially when I picked what it had to be substituted with or to refund. And if you try a walmart.com customer support they're even more heartless people who will refuse to let you speak to a supervisor...... If I had options to shop elsewhere I would but I can't and Walmarts service has gone way down hill and the corporate fat cats don't seem to care how customers are treated as long as they get paid. read more

So... I called and asked about a fan. It's the beginning of November and my fan I use to help me sleep died. I realize it's not summer anymore so I want to call before stopping everywhere all over town. I ask the operator and I'm placed on hold for over 15 minutes. So I hang up and call back. Operator doesn't respond. I try back three more times and zero response. So I dial over to electronics and reach someone. They come back to tell me there are fans in the store but offer no more info. As I'm asking for more info (like price, how many models I have to choose from, are they silent or do they make noise), I'm given attitude. No thank you, I'll shop at target or amazon. I shop at Walmart on Dorothy Lane a few times a week. The last 3 times I've placed a online order machine has been down. That machine calls off more than a real employee. Today I waited 49 minutes for someone to get my order out of the back. I asked three different people for help no one helped me. Super duper extraordinarily unhappy! The place is always packed but there's never more than two cashiers. It's super messy! And the staff is completely rude and incapable of showing any type of customer service skills. Half the time the shelves are empty. Every single visit I found cold food sitting in a shelf in the bread aisle or somewhere where it should not be. i understand that that is the customers and not the staff but the staff should be keeping up with things like that. I literally watched a staff member pick up hamburger meat that was sitting in the bread aisle and take it back and put it in the meat department. Did the staff member know how long that's been sitting out of the cooler section? Well I can tell you it was there for 35 minutes for definite. Maybe longer...I saw it when i first got to the bread aisle. 35 minutes later...I decided to get hamburger buns..it was still there. Then i saw a staff member grab it and followed them to see what they were going to do with it. Yeppers they put it back with a hamburger in the cooler section. I refuse to buy meat there. This is for the Tire and Lube side of this location: I do go here for an oil change every 6,000 Miles. Under $19.00 and always under 1 hour to get me out of there (Usually 45 minutes). It's first come first served, I do it before 10 AM on a week day. They'll fill your tires up with air and check anything else you want. I went to the Walmart in Moraine Ohio this morning because my kids wanted a tie dye kit. We live 15 minutes from the store but I was willing to make the trip because it said online that there were 3 kits available at this store. So, I have never been to this particular store so I amused that this kits were in the arts and crafts section. I went there and didn't see them. I asked 2 ladies who were stocking in section if the kits would be located in this section. One of them said, "well, it would be on these shelves but we don't have any." I said, "I went online and it stated that three kits were available." She said, "the internet lies all the time." Neither one of them tried to find the 3 kits or help me at all. They just continued to stock. Their stocking cart was in the way of the tie dye paints. I went around and find paints that we could use. I had to stick my hands through the cart to get the items I eventually bought. I am not trying to be mean but it was the worst consumer service I had ever had. I normally go to a different Wal-mart and I have had no problems asking for location of products. My mom also works at a different Walmart location. I have heard her talk about the excellent service that she provides her customers. Needless to say, I will not be going back to this location. read more

It's said the true test of a person - or business - is what they do when everything goes wrong. If that's true, the Walmart on Dorothy Lane failed. I'm guessing the problem is understaffing. I was waiting in the only line manned by a human being when a man accidentally spilled drain cleaner. The clerk did everything she was supposed to do: She turned on her light and tried to clean it up with paper towels. Nobody came over to help her. I was 4 or 5 people behind the spill, and when I got up to it, the smell made me nauseous. I asked the clerk if it made her sick, too, and she responded her hands were burning. I immediately started making a very loud fuss. The supervisor came over and blamed the clerk! However, she did move the customers to different registers and let the clerk go wash her hands. Afterward, I called to complain about the supervisor, and the phone rang until it stopped 3 times. It was picked up the fourth time. Bad service is one thing, but exposing employees and customers to hazardous materials is another! read more

Best experience of my life. Not just in stores, but my emotive life in general. I peaked in this Walmart and it was the best day of my life. A crowd gathered around me as I wore a horse mask. It was as if I was a combination of Santa and Jesus. Children were shaking my hand and adults looked at me in awe. Not only this, but I discovered that my brother is having a baby girl. I found it this information as I was shopping for a st. patrick's day shirt in the glorious clothing section in Walmart. Lastly, the icing on the cake was me being able to buy Girl Scout cookies as I left the store. I basically exercised the 28th amendment of being a fucking American. Support our troops amiright. Recently we took a car in to get the oil changed and were told that it would be 30-45 minutes. 3 HOURS LATER the car was dirty (oil on the outside and inside of car - steering wheel, bumper, door, floor, etc.). The two gentleman working in the department tried to explain why they "weren't working up to their full potential" but it was time to go. I went there today to try and price match an item. I called before hand and was told that as long as I brought in an ad showing the items price, they would honor it. I asked if the website on my phone was acceptable and told yes, that would be fine. I also called the 1-800 Walmart number to confirm and was told the same thing. Fast forward through my 20 minute drive and I head inside to show the ad on my phone. The "employees" (if you can even call them that since they're only interest was socializing) tell me they have to get a a manager. The manager can't come out "for a few minutes" which turned into over 15 minutes. Once she comes out, she says she was the one who talked to me on the phone and since found out she can't do a price match because the place their price matching sells refurbished items (no apology or anything). I point out on the website the ad clearly states "NEW" in capital letters. She says she needs to get a higher manager, Susan. Susan turns out to be the most condescending and rudest person I've EVER spoken to (and I don't say that lightly). She tries the same "refurbished" excuse and again, I point out the "NEW" to her as well. She then wants to know "why I don't get it from the other store" I tell her it's not available online but it is in stores. She asks "why can't I just go to the store?" I point out because there's none around this area. She then uses that as an excuse as to why they "just can't" price match. NEVER once citing a policy or procedure. I tell her I called the 1-800 number and they said I could do it, her response is that "they would never say something like that", obviously being accused of lying, I tell her that I'm not lying. She says she's not either and there's nothing she can do period. I literally feel like I'm her child being scolded in front of other customers. Her voice was raised and her tone was unproportionally harsh considering the situation. I can't even put into words how disrespected I felt over something so minuscule. It basically just felt like they were too lazy to honor it so they'd rather fish for excuses and see which one I'd accept only to get frustrated when I resisted. I go to the parking lot and call the store and ask for the highest manager available. I talk to Dave who was a huge improvement over Susan. He apologizes for her behavior numerous times. I will NEVER step foot in this place EVER again. If you fancy being treated like a piece of garbage, it's the place for you. read more

My fiancée and I have tried to get an oil change for her car on TWO different occasions, TWO days in a row and they have turned us away because they had a long line of vehicles to work on and they closed at 7PM. Yesterday, I let it slide because we had gotten there rather late- so knowing better this time, today my fiancée went at 3PM after work to try again. YET AGAIN they turned her away because they closed at 7PM and there was a long line. BUT, AS SOON AS THEY LEFT THEY ACCEPTED SOMEONE. Not even 5 minutes later they signed someone up. So, please explain to me why we can't get an oil change before our long trip home for a family reunion. This is unacceptable. You have lost both of our gratuity and us as customers. read more

I have been to this location more than three times. I assume this location serves a huge part of Dayton. Therefore, it seems like they should have more items available. The last visit was really the last straw for me. Self checkout did not have any bags and only certain machines accepted cash and certain machines accepted credit/debit cards. I had both so it did not matter which one I utilized. Prior to my turn to check out; there was a woman who monitored the area but a man who is disabled took over right before I walked towards the machine to checkout. She did not set him up for success AT ALL! I had to ask him to give me some bags which I really did not want to do, I had to put the bags on the bag holder myself, the bags clanged together so that was a messy situation. Transportation left me because I was not ready on time but I could not get the bags opened therefore I had to put majority of my groceries into the reshop basket which was left for the man to do before the end of his shift. I was not pleased with that at all, so I assisted him with his reshops; I put everything that I had to leave behind in his basket and other items that were left behind from other customer's as well. My car only has 35000 miles. But the guy suggest me choose product of high mileage oil change for my engine.But with 35000 miles why it is deemed high mileage I don't understand. It is expensive than regular one. That's the reason. And I told him my car instruction shows a specific oil. After oil change done I saw the receipt shows not the specific oil for my car. They say they will check for me. Then they say they change the one I need, but just didn't show it on my receipt. How can you prove this for me? It takes me three hours stick over there. Please train your employees that if two identically package products are ringing up at different that they should not tell customer that the difference is the barcode, and that telling a customer that there is a difference between "printer ink" and "printer ink and toner". I should have to talk to customer to resolve a $1.50 price difference on two that are advertised as the same on the package. If you were offering good prices I might be tempted to put up with such a terrible customer experience. I guess I will just order online in the future rather than return to your store read more

Many times I've gone to Walmart for cheap grocery shopping to find items not stocked, the most unprecedentedly unmotivated, unemployable workers, and lack of regard for the common person. The fact that Walmart deems these people "employable" is paradoxical, really. It seems there is little management and enforceable rules at this place. It was the first of the month when welfare shoppers are too numerous to count and they only have 3 cashiers working.
