I'm not sure how many times I've tried the pick up service through the years, but it's been years since my order was correct and/or wasn't cancelled. Either way, the products I wanted were on the shelves most of the time. Staff can be moody but a lot less so than they were years ago. I've had a few pretend not to speak English until they realized I'll just ask for help in Spanish, which gives both of us a good laugh before they help, usually in English. I won't hold that against them because they probably feel their hands are too full. It's not as if they are sitting on their butts or twiddling their thumbs, but it is something that's happened more than once with different staff in different departments. I did have an issue with something ringing up incorrectly at self-checkout a while back. The lady manning self-checkout said she needed a manager to give her permission to change the price. I watched her go ask the manager for assistance. I watched the manager, who was chatting with someone organizing bins in another checkout lane, make no attempt to come over and assist for over 20 minutes. I went into the checkout lane next to the manager and heard her just talking about home and gossip without a care in the world, but she turned professional when I came out of hiding and asked when she planned to assist me. She pretended that she didn't know I had been waiting until I pointed out that I had not only watched her be asked, I had been listening to the last few minutes for her conversation while I waited. The lady manning self-checkout apologized after the manager finally came over, and I told her she did her part, and it wasn't her fault. She said she was nervous I was going to take it out on her because that's what customers usually do when this happens, which leads to suspect this is a game that manager regularly plays while leaving their staff to take the brunt of the customers' rage. It's no wonder the staff have a bad reputation for customer service. One of my last visits was during opening. None of the self-checkout registers had any bags, which isn't abnormal. I went to one of the other registers and grabbed one bag from there. I probably needed at least four for the amount of things I had, but there were so few and relatively a lot of customers for an early morning, so I left the rest for the others. A lady who was staring at me came to the woman self-checkout and said hide the bags because "they" take them all while she looked at me. I don't know if that woman was a supervisor, but I know she was out-of-pocket. I took one bag. I really should've turned around and took three more in spite. I feel I was profiled a few times at this store, whether due to race or age, I'm unsure. I reported it once and never saw that employee again, but I never received an acknowledgment much less an apology for it. This isn't my favorite Walmart location for a host of reasons, but I think Walmarts in general might be cutting back on inventory in their brick and mortar stores. This might be in an effort to push customers to pick up and delivery services, but this particular store is horrible for pick ups for years. read more

Our hotel was in Middleton, NY and this is the closest Walmart location to it. We found everything we needed and then some. Employees are hard working, helpful, and friendly. There is a Subway and AuntieAnne's inside, which is great. We were in and out in no time. The parking lot can get a bit full, this place gets busy depending on what time you visit. Overall, it's Walmart and we greatly appreciate the reasonable prices here. read more

Huge store with a large selection of groceries, clothing, home stuff, and most things you could need (just not the particular spices I was looking for). They do really need to update their checkout stations though, because (at least where we were at self-checkout) they still didn't allow you to tap your phone or card to pay, which is inconvenient. read more

A Walmart right off Highway 17. Easy to access but follow the signs. This Walmart has a variety of products and is kept relatively clean. I have used the pharmacy here and it was typical. The staff is fairly friendly but be prepared to wait. There has only been one cashier when I have gone making it difficult to get in and out so don't be in a rush... One time I finally got two cashier's (as I have been multiple times to this location). I have had to call back more than once to get an answer I could understand about my inquiry. Who doesn't love to hate on Walmart? It's easy to dump on the big corps and what do they really care about the little guy except for you to fork over your money. You won't find a Walmart Supercenter in NYC, so you'll have to truck out to LI or roadtrip upstate, as we usually do. Their groceries, clothes and consumer goods are mediocre at best, but they are dirt cheap and you have the advantage of all-in-one location shopping. You can get your frozen pizza, as well as your car motor oil, all in one shopping cart. I get my everyday work clothes in the men's dept. Can you beat $9.84 for a pair of cotton pants? Or $7.76 for a pair of no-name blue jeans? If you're a bargain hunter, cruise through the Clearance aisle. There are vastly discounted/discontinued toys, hardware and office supplies and out of season goods. Last time, I found LED light bulbs for $0.50 each. I even like to rummage through the $3 DVD bin for trashy old 80's movies. It's worth the trip. read more

I hate shopping here because it's never fully stocked and there's no checkout people but I needed a specific pet product and the pet stores didn't have it so had to go to Walmart. I tell the cashier I was going to pay by check she says oh ! You paying by check kind of snooty. I give her the check she says you have to sign it. I inform her that you sign on the keypad because it is done electronically. She states to another cashier she has to sign it right. I say you can get your supervisor she/he will know. The cashier comes back with the supervisor I can tell she said something negative about me to her because of the negative energy the supervisor comes with. She says you have to sign it I say the same thing to her after going back and forth. The rude supervisor calls the manager and tells her on the phone this woman has a check and is saying she don't have to sign anything I say I did not say that. She says since you keep talking I'm going to walk away with the phone. She stood in front of me on the phone lying about what I said trying to imply this is a difficult customer. The sweetest manager comes and I am irate at the time. She says these machines are new I informed her even with the previous machines you did not have to sign the actual check and that I just wrote a check last week, not to mention it was one of your cashiers that told me I didn't have to sign due to it being signed electronically and they return the check to you. The same thing I told this cashier and supervisor. The manager says I will try it if it goes through no problem if not you have to sign. I say no problem. With that being said sometimes the machine spits the check out and you have to submit it again. This happened and the cashier said see that's because she didn't sign it. The manager resubmits it goes through with no problem. The manager apologizes the cashier just turned her head. The same way the manager said I will try it without the signature directly on the check she could have done the same thing. But instead she wanted to be a nasty, arrogant, disrespectful, rude, despicable, know it all. And treat me like I was lying and trying to do something illegal. read more

I have a Walmart+ account This store is horrible in delivery service. I had a delivery two weeks ago When I got it from my front door, there was my order as well as a bag that wasn't mine. I set this inside my front door. About 15 minutes later, the delivery driver was banging on my door. I gave her the bag that wasn't mine and then she accused me of stealing some items that were missing from that order When I emailed the store manager about this, the reply was that they use Uber drivers for delivery and there was nothing they can do about it. Yesterday afternoon I placed an order with delivery scheduled for 8-10 pm. At 9:40 I got a message saying the order would be delayed by 2 hours, so I opted to reschedule delivery for 8-10 am today. At 10:15 there was still no delivery, so I contacted Walmart. Their response was that the order was packed but they had no drivers available and no idea when they would be delivered Frozen foods were in the order. I cancelled the order and then cancelled my Walmart+ membership. This store and its management just do not care about customer service. There are other places to shop at and get delivery service from. read more

The delivery service is beyond awful. My groceries were left outside on the dirty ground. During a previous order the driver said he did not know which items were mine and I needed to come outside to his car to pick out my food. Typically, I try to stay away fro leaving negative reviews. This unfortunately isn't something that's typical... Upon going to Middletown New York's Walmart, I had decided to print a few photos. Their machine wasn't compatible with my phone, though. My friend tried to find help to no avail. Finally, I saw a man walk in from the back, so I decided to ask him what the matter might be. He came over and in an annoyed tone of voice asked "OK, what's going on here?" He very quickly explained how to resolve the issue and then added "see what happens when you follow prompts. " I brushed it off because I honestly figured that getting angry wasn't worth the headache. However, when I completed the photo prints, and paid for them, I asked if I could please have a bag. His response was "We did away with them. You can thank the democrats." OK , I am not democratic. That's also not the problem here either. This man, whose name is Karl, took it upon himself to assume that I was slow minded, and made an intent to insult me based on what he perceived to be my political affiliation. If he's that unhappy and unable to keep professional, which he clearly is, then perhaps he should seek another job. It's common knowledge that speaking about anything personal, even if it's in a wise cracked comment of a failed attempt at humor, is inappropriate. I was given the heads up they were running behind, so I continued to wait in the parking lot. As soon as my order was ready I pulled into the pickup spot and checked in - and waited. After being there for 2 hours total, I still did not have my order. Another person waiting went inside and was told they were not doing any more pick up orders that day. No one came out to address the issue. I called HQ, who advised I reach back out to the store directly. I have called multiple times with no return call. All I wanted was for Walmart in Middletown to hold up their end of the agreement when I booked the slot. They clearly don't care about their customers. read more

So I go there today, I go to self check out this I believe six registers maybe eight I'm not sure, but one the farthest away from where the line starts had nobody standing there, and is a light on top I proceeded to go to register, as I get 3/4 there and employee says to me a female "go back in line, register is not working" excuse me, sir, not I'm sorry this register is not working. People looked at her like what the fuck lady why are you talking like that to a customer so I did not go back I stood there and waited for somebody closest to me get done and then I went over to the register, as that register cleared, she says you can go to that one and I still paid no attention to her as soon as the little screen came up of how many stars to give them I pushed one. Worst experience ever!!! My first and last time shopping at Walmart in Middletown! I went there this eve bc I needed random items before I left out of town in the AM. I was there for 4 hours! I couldn't find anything. Asking an associate, resulted in mumble and point in some far off direction. However, I grabbed whatever I saw. I knew I could return later. I got to the register as the store was closing. There only self check out. As I am trying to do the best I can to get out, all I keep hearing from behind me is The Store Is Closed. You have to leave. As I am trying to check out! Which only stressed me out more. Another associate helped me scan and bag items. He was friendly and nice. I finally finished and went to pay...my card was Declined. I ran it again, and again it was "Declined "...but that was not the error message on the screen. So I tried a different card. The gentleman who was helping me saw I was using CHASE Cards. He informed me that apparently they have an issue with Chase Cards at Self Checkout! Once Again, the manager is standing there, telling me I have to leave! I just spent 4 hrs shopping, they had me try 2 different cards multiple times they knew wouldn't work at self checkout. Well, the gentleman left, and this beauty was joined by another winner. Once again, with an attitude, telling me the store is closed! I needed these items! All they could harp on was that my cards were "declined"! I tried to explain there was nothing wrong with my cards. I didn't just spend 4 hours shopping and get to the register with my fingers crossed hoping my fairy godmother would cover my bill! I tried showing her no transactions had gone through. Nothing was processed. But they werent interested. It was Declined! After more attitude, they took the receipt to another register and ran both cards again! I tried to explain that if you keep running the same card, Chase will decline the purchase and put a Fraud alert on my account. Of course, they were both declined. At this point they were just extremely rude giving me nothing but attitude. They were kicking me out and took the cart away. I asked them to leave the cart by CS, I can be back in AM and pay the bill. Well, that was out of the question! They do not hold customer carts! I said ok but this is an unusual situation. The problem is not on my end. I need the items before I depart in the AM. One responded with we don't do that. The other with she wont be there in AM. What difference does that make? Leave a note on the cart for the AM staff, inc my info. Nope! We can't do that. They would rather have someone waste time putting everything back then to just let me complete my transaction in a few hours. They took my cart and escorted me to the door. However, I had brought my own reusable bags with me. One contained items from the last store I stopped in prior to Wal-Mart. Including prescription medications among other things. So not only did I not get the items I intended to purchase but I have no hope of ever getting those bags back, because they couldn't even be bothered to take down my contact information!!! As soon as I got outside...ding ding ding, I got the multiple text messages from Chase flagging those multiple transactions for the same dollar amount, as Fraud, and my accounts are frozen!!! But all these two very arrogant yet ignorant women could see is my credit card was DECLINED. They assumed I just couldn't afford my purchase, to the point where she literally told me, just get cash from the ATM. I didn't have an ATM card with me. I contacted CS about what transpired. And that I need my personal effects returned. She took my complaint and fwded it to the store. However, after reading all of the comments, I am not hopeful anything will be returned. All they had to do was leave my cart into a corner and lock up. If I didn't show, nothing would have changed. Someone would still be restocking everything. It's the attitude and arrogance for which I have no tolerance. Bc combined with ignorance its just a bad combo. I searched the Walmart Corp site and inquired with CS. There is no policy that says customer carts can't be left overnight when time has run out to finalize a transaction. I don't expect to hear from anyone since she didn't ask me for contact info either. Now I have to file a Police Report if my bag doesn't turn up. PS. Yes the store is a complete disaster! Yes there are box boy carts blocking the aisles. No, they didn't seem to have anything in stock, not even random insignificant to the holiday items. This is a huge Walmart, but I suppose they are all huge. This one though is huge with TERRIBLE parking. So be prepared for a bad parking experience before you even get into the store. Then, when you get in the store, depending on time of day, you may find it a mess. But, if you go early in the am (around 7 am) it wont be as bad, because I imagine they spend all night cleaning it up. This is a reflection more on the patrons than the actual store, but I think the store could do something about it as well. I would not buy groceries here, prefer to buy fresher and more local. But the non grocery items are good when you can park the car and get to the store. However, if you are there a the right time of day, you will find it a super easy on and off from Rt 17, regardless of direction you are going, which is nice. And if you are there early enough then parking wont be an issue either. This is also in the same mall as: Panera, Burlington Coats Factory, Bed Bath & Beyond, Marshalls, Casual Male, and a ton of other stores. The store is extremely huge. There is just about everything you need here. I love shopping in this specific one if I am in the area. The aisles are organized and is just fun to walk around and see all the items. When I say there is almost everything here, I mean it ! and at a low price. First time shopping alone, I ended up getting 5 bags of pet food, some of them 35 pounds. The cashier clerk was out of breath due to all my heavy items, she was mentioning how heavy it was, she broke her nail lifting up my packages, we had a nice small chat, I ended up doing all the lifting on my own, which I did as a piece of cake due to my training, I felt empowered. I really don't know how I had one cart full of items and when I checked out, she had to get me another cart to put everything in it. She was very nice and courteous, she drove one of the carts to my car. read more

My boyfriend was not given his receipt and since no bags are given out unless paid for he was worried there would be an issue when leaving the store. When I went to check out separately, but at the same register, same woman checking me out. When my boyfriend asked for a new copy, she was beyond frustrated and rude that my boyfriend "lost" his receipt.
