Nothing different at this Walmart compare to any of the other locations except this one is huge and offers a wide variety including automotive, groceries and clothes. You can get lost here pretty quick and when you ask employees where something else they don't know and tell you to ask someone one else(we were looking for Pokémon cards) This place was super crowded and having to dodge thru people was not fun but we were able to check out pretty quick. Three stars because it's your typical Walmart and employees are not helpful. read more

We were on our way to Camping World Stadium from Tampa and wanted to buy a poncho, so we added a Walmart stop. Walmart was a quick and hassle-free stop for us. We were able to grab a poncho right away at a good price, and were soon on our way to the stadium after checking out. read more

Why is the customer service at Walmart so bad. Employees are not helpful at all and at time those at the service desk are downright rude. Shouldn't they be trained properly. I don't enjoy shopping at Walmart. read more

Lakeland walmart has joined the "mirror" mentality. I knew where everything was cuz its exactly been remodeled to the ones in Brandon and Valrico. It kept throwing my senses out of wack! Kept forgetting i was in Lake land. Eventually all Walmarts will adapt this, it will make them more money. Having clients just walk in n leave happy. We had no biggies. Lines were moving fine. read more

This is the only Walmart within an easy driving distance, so I guess I'm stuck with it, but I have some severe issues with it. I get there at 6 AM when the store opens to avoid school traffic only to discover the front doors are not open, and I usually have to go through the employees entrance, like most of the other customers arriving early. Mind you, since I go at least twice a week this is a common occurrence. In addition, the parking lot is littered with carts that are not in cart, corrals and handicapped electric carts and apparently they're just left in the parking lot overnight and are not in the store charging. Once I get in the store, the fun begins. First, I have to contend with employees who are stocking during normal business hours when they really should be doing this at night, and then I also have to fool around with other employees, pushing around blue carts, picking up orders for customers who have ordered online.. What does this mean? I've seen more orderly demolition derbies that's what that means. Other issues include close, dated or outdated merchandise being sold, and somewhat questionable, stocking principles. For example, today I went looking for birds eye, frozen vegetables to discover huge gaps, where these vegetables should be however, I happen to notice that the great value vegetables were stocked to the top. Guess the store brands Trump, the name brand items. And once I managed to get my cart somewhat full of items that I may find, and then I have to check myself out because as it turns out, there's only one cashier in any given time and sometimes she's busy. So, that means I have to use self check out in a credit card even if I want to pay cash for some minor items. And while I do appreciate that Walmart has an online presence, and I can check for items in stock, how come every time I go to a store and look for a certain item it's usually not in the place that the online listing says it should be or, worse, it's not even in stock after the online shopping experience tells me they do have them in stock? And, as a final insult if I have to use the restroom, it's at my own peril because chances are the floors are wet and there's no paper towels. Now what's weird about this scenario is that roughly 2 weeks ago. I noticed the store was suddenly cleaner, and the parking lot was free of stray carts of any type. It suddenly dawned on me that apparently the district manager must've paid to visit and put a bug in somebody's ear to get things done. Now that that individual is gone, I guess all bets are off. read more

Sorry I can't leave a zero. I have never in my life seen this much racism and I survived the 60's. My Chinese wife wife pointed out to a young man claiming to be a manager that the Scan and Go line was overrun by folks just shopping. She reminded him this is a privilege that is paid for. The Atlanta store actually asks you politely to use the line if you can scan and go from a self check out line. The 'manager on duty seemed to speak respectful to me being a Caucasian male after realizing I would not tolerate the same disrespectful attitude he showed my wife. He claims 'corporate' makes them put up the sign. Simple solution for Walmart. Disable card readers and cash on these lanes or quit charging for scan and go. The attitude here is enough for us to discontinue patronage and drive down the street to ALDIs. If you are Asian stay away from these racists! read more

I moved to Lakeland a year ago, and I have to say, my old Walmart was immaculate compared to this one! The parking lot of this Walmart definitely needs to be repaved and the cart corrals were badly bent out of shape. This does not make for a pleasant drive-up experience. That being said, the inside of the store is clean and well-organized, as any typical Walmart is. They have a decent selection of services in the front of the store and a Burger King if you are hungry. They are pretty well stocked and have the typical variety of products. My only complaint about products is their lack of organic choices, especially for fresh and frozen produce. My former Walmart had much more selection. They are also often out of the organic options, which should be a clue that there is a market for organic foods in this area. read more

I was concerned about coming to the North Lakeland Walmart due to prior reviews but I shouldn't have been. It was fine. They were stocked, it was busy, and they had most of what was on my list. Help is non existent here so you must fend for yourself. That is ok. Now I have ordered online to have it shipped and there was quite a mess up from this store. They delivered from this store to a closed business as they didn't ship from the warehouse . I had to call around to figure that out. The order was missing an item. No one could help. I got hung up on etc. I now know if you order online to have it shipped to Lakeland , a Walmart store is likely to deliver it. So this store is hit or miss. Proceed at your own risk. If you are going in it'll probably be ok. If ordering online and it is over $35 they may deliver it early in a open plastic bag on the doorstep and you need to make sure it is all there read more

Due to a Walmart mistake, 11 items were missing from the inhome delivery, one entire refrigerated bag. We were overcharged by about $30 due to the missing groceries. It took over an hour and multiple chats and a phone call to get credit for 9 of the items, and then an additional call to the store to get credit for the other 2. Also, we were missing the 11 items that we needed yesterday. We were told on the first call to set up another delivery. We could not get the items with inhome delivery yesterday when needed, and we did not have enough groceries (less than $35) to get delivery or a pickup without accruing additional fees. On the second call, we were told the only way to get the items yesterday was to come into the store and shop. We do grocery and other pickups and delivery when we can afford because I have serious mobility issues and have to use a wheelchair or scooter to shop in store. At 70 years old, it is too hard to load and unload my electric wheelchair or scooter, and there has never been a store scooter available. We had to go shop yesterday for the missing items. We had to spend extra money for gas to go shopping. It is not superior or even satisfactory that the customer has to do all the work and spend extra money to fix Walmart's mistake. read more

While most things about this store drive me a tad crazy - just the amount of traffic and hassle it is there. Tonight I had a truly delightful experience. I forgot my phone charger on a quick overnight trip for mom appts to Lakeland and the women working in electronics not only directed me to the aisle she quickly helped me select the right one. I walked into a packed store, I was greeted sweetly by an older woman and we began to shop. I found everything I needed on the market side and the store was pretty clean. He went to wait in the long line with all of the groceries while I picked up a few toiletries and a cooler. Initially the visit to Walmart went well until it was time for me to ask where something was at. "Excuse me, where are your coolers?" ..."4 aisles down" I go where I was directed and no coolers, I turn around and she's gone! I spent the next 5 minutes frustrated trying to find them myself. I can't believe any of these FL Walmarts since moving from northern IL. (was in Largo, briefly) OMG, these Walmarts are disgusting in comparison to what I'm used to. First off the prices..wow...sticker shock. For what? Also, this particular Walmart on 98N is a joke. Many items on the shelves are non existent and continue to be anytime I go. The employees: some are nice, most are pretty uninterested. The handicap parking spots are always taken, always...I don't care how early I get my Mom there. There is nothing special with this Walmart on price or well, anything. I'll go to Save-a-lot, Winn Dixie or Aldi's when I have to actually buy canned goods or the like. I normally go to produce markets for just that and apparently I have to find a meat market as well in order to get something that isn't some mass market shipped all over garbage. I'm ready to go vegetarian, for real. I'm so over Walmart however their liquor store is A-ok. I do order things on-line less expensive where I pick it up or it gets delivered which has nothing to do with food. I detest going into the main store and avoid any longer. I will have to agree with Monique W and her review. I used to love heading to Walmart over other stores when I resided in Tampa, but this Lakeland Walmart is horrendous! I cringe everytime I think of going. The only reason my wife and I came back was due to a gift card provided to us by my Mother in law. I shall regift the card next time. The parking alone is a nightmare. We got stuck behind a cart gathering employee for over 5 minutes without urgency, a comment, or apology. The machine kept turning off and he turned around to put it back on and never looked at us. The cashiers I have encountered truly tested my patience with their comments and bad attitudes. The cashier spoke to my wife with an aggressive tone and treated her like an idiot. I held my tongue out of respect. I won't go on anymore about the horrible experience, just know we intend to never come back for the multitude of negative factors that came together on each visit. read more

The 2 liter pepsi bottles are on the highest shelf in beverage area. They are stuffed in the rows that make it impossible to safely obtain one. I was asked to purchase 4. By the time I got to the 3rd one I fell and dropped it on the floor. I stood on a makeshift rack they have near the aisle I can only assume for shorter people. When I saw an employee she has no idea what to do. So I went to customer service and they blamed the vendor. Not one person asked if I was ok. I was told I was talking to a manager that was blaming the vendor and would pass it on to the vendor. If she was 25 I would be surprised so I doubt she had any authority to abate the issue at had. While Publix might cost more I think it's worth my safety to make my purchase there. At least they have employees readily available to assist if needed. Not one person care to resolve the issue or ask if I was ok. Would not advise shopping here while in FL. Katie. read more

This store never has carts available for disability customers. 100% of the time I have to locate one myself. Approach a very unprofessional manager today that did not care and I'm sure she won't change anything and allowed her greater to roll her eyes at me which I would have terminated her on the spot for being disrespectful to a customer. Sam Walton would be rolling over in his grave. Order more carts or hire more cart people. Snowbirds are coming back and I never have problems at publix or at winn Dixie or at dollar general. Teach your customers if someone is with them to bring the car to them. Don't take the cart to the car. Management figure it out. Dumb just dumb. Won't be coming back there. This Walmart is disorganized and dirty. The workers are extremely rude and condescending, particularly the old man and woman that sat at the grocery entrance to "greet" customers. I went straight to the photo center and put my order in for three different items. The wait time was three hours. I didn't mind waiting for my pictures so I went home and enjoyed lunch with my family. Three hours later I returned to the photo center to pick up my order. The employee informed me that the machines have been down all day for any order other than the 5x8 basic pictures. I was beyond annoyed that I wasted my time because no one had warned me about this when I sat down to work on my order. Probably the biggest Walmart I've been to in Florida. This store has everything and I do mean everything: a full grocery and department store plus tires, garden center, pharmacy, eye doctor, a liquor shop, barber, nail salon, a bank and a surprisingly nice Burger King right inside it. It also has the self checkout machines, which I like and they have the grocery store on the left side (where it should be). I have been ordering home food delivery from Walmart for over a year now. Honestly I have not had very many problems with the service. Even once covid is over I still intended to keep the service. Last weekend I had an order for Saturday which Walmart canceled. Things happened so I was not that upset just reordered the same stuff for Sunday delivery. That got canceled also. I went and got groceries myself on Monday and waited again till this weekend hoping the problem was corrected. I was supposed to get a order this Saturday between 11:00 and 12:00 and that didn't happen. I spent most of the day on the phone or chatting with customer service. Finally about 5:30 in the evening our food came. I am very frustrated with the service right now as it's been two weekends in a row. I'm assuming it's this particular store that's having a problem but I don't want to pay for a service if I can't get my groceries. Customer service has been very nice and keep sending me discounts off my next order but if I can't get my order then the discounts are worth nothing. I am very frustrated. read more

I always feel awkward getting ready for Walmart trips. Should I shower? Is that too much effort? Should I actually get dressed out of pajamas, or will I be over dressed? If it was tar-get, I know what norm is. Parking is like some sort of circus with firey hoops to jump through and hoping some big truck won't run you over like an elephant stepping on a cockroach. Walking through the parking lot is a similar experience with all the people rushing for their beloved reserved parking spots at the front. Finally inside, ahh, breath of fresh air...until BEEP BEEP "Watch out please" The security guard said as she almost ran me over in one of those electric carts as someone in a blue vest pushed her in to the cart bay. What in the world? Can I go home now? This is when I decided, to pull out the list and make a mad dash. It seems everyone walks the speed of turtle inside of Wal-mart and they think it's a no passing zone! They also love to push their carts down the middle of the aisle so I can't get past them when I'm trying to find my soap. I need a drink...but that's whole other "store" separated from regular Wal-mart. On a mission to find some shelving for storage, I take a step back to view my options and a young child about the age of 9, taps her mom's cart into my knee and with a loud tone says "EXCUSE ME"...as if I was in her way. Yes allow me to scoot myself in further, so you don't have to put your cart 2 inches to the left while walking down this main aisle. By this point I take Jeff Dunham's puppet's advice "Welcome to Walmart, get you bleep, and get out" I do. read more
