Decided to try the online grocery ordering and pick up. Placed my order online and chose a pick up time. I arrived and finally located the grocery pick up area - after driving up and down the aisles for a few minutes :) Next, I went onto the app and notified them of my parking spot number. Within just a few minutes a nice young man came out with my groceries. When I arrived home I noticed the individual baking potato's were covered with white eyes and unable to eat. I made an online return and notified them of the issue, and they gave me a credit. Overall, the process was a breeze and luckily only a few items were unavailable. Also, I was able to apply my Walmart cash at checkout and saved even more money. My only tip is to shop early, because the pick up times do fill up quickly. Before COVID I only went in the late evening when it was open 24hrs, and the shelves were very bare. I was able to get what I needed but would have shopped more if the place wasn't such a mess. It actually was spooky and I was a little afraid since there weren't many people around. I expected a 24 hour store to have round the clock staff even when the shelves were being restocked. But there wasn't very much of that going on either. I've been in Shoprite in the evenings and they have a full staff restocking shelves at 9PM now even though they're closing early with the COVID issues. Of the two stores, I'd pick ShopRite over Walmart anytime. The newer 4 Seasons on 896 is fabulous with lots of specialty areas, long rows and extra things to choose from, and the neighborhood store on Chestnuthill Rd has lots to offer as well. read more

This is one of the cleaner Walmarts I've been to recently. on a Sunday evening the lines were pretty long since they're only to cash registers open. Half note there is a special section devoted to just Hispanic products. I imagine this is to cater to the large amount of Spanish speakers who work in the local mushroom industry. read more

I only go here for a few items and never enjoy the experience. I feel like I have been teleported to Mexico. It almost feels like being on vacation, except they do not have margaritas. All the customers and most of the employees speak Spanish. I really do not have a problem with it. That is just more of an observation. But when you ask for help you will be understood better if you ask for help in Spanish. There are certain items which never get restocked properly and seem to remain empty for years. Like velcro. I almost never do sewing and rarely go in that section, but they have space on the shelf for 10 kinds of velcro, yet have all the spaces filled with one variety. On several occasions I have purchased items which rang up more expensive than the price on the shelf. So be sure to check the tag on the shelf if you are buying more expensive items. Every time I go to this store they have 2 registers open at most and nobody seems to care how long the checkout lines are, yet the isles are full of wandering employees pretending to be busy, so like other Walmart stores, I like to check out at the sporting goods register. The empoyee they put back there doesn't have much work to do and just hangs around to make keys and babysit the ammo. The other day the employee who they had working in the sporting goods section was miserable and complaining about having to be there. Like covering the sporting goods section was a huge task. So sorry to bother you and make you do some work ringing up my items. But to top off the experience, and the reason for me writing a review, is he had a cold and thanked me for making him do some work by coughing in my face. I would give this place some credit if I could find something positive, but every experience I have is less than acceptable and the best part about going here is leaving. read more

We visited our neighborhood Wal Mart recently. What a let-down!! Granted, Wal Mart is never a luxury experience, but this place is really the pits. Let's set the scene: you walk in and suddenly you're inside a gigantic, empty, tin can. There is not nearly enough merchandise to fill this expansive wasteland of a store and the merchandise they do have is disorganized on crappy displays. The lay-out of the store doesn't really make sense -- we found ourselves walking from one end to the other several times for a few ordinary products. The middle of the store is completely empty and there is a single futon and some messy shelves surrounded by street cones; we had to rest on the futon on our twelfth trip across the store looking for socks. We interacted with the "photo center" on our recent visit to this Wal Mart (translation: a falling-down desk with some empty boxes behind it as well as one printer). The first time they printed our picture, there was a large error on it and we had to wait while they printed the second. The staff was helpful about this, and the second one turned out fine, but it was a minor nuisance. This place really needs to be spruced up and someone needs to look at (and completely redo) the layout. The place is under construction so perhaps a new plan is in the works but construction seems to be going at a snail's pace -- I haven't seen any improvements over the last 6 months. The parking lot is huge and poorly lit. I've been to many a Wal Mart in my day and this one is on the bottom of the totem pole. On the bright side! It's outfitted with a McDonalds in case you'd like a Big Mac for your trek across the Sahara. read more

Found ourselves out this way to get Son settled at his new residence and decided to do some grocery shopping. Not sure why there are bad reviews because we found everything we needed and then some. Yes most of the staff are Hispanic but spoke English and were helpful and friendly. I found the store to be clean - especially their produce area. Bathroom was clean. It was nice to see that they have a nail salon - hair salon - and a McDonalds all inside the store. Son will be living in this area for the next 3 months so I'm sure we'll be back. read more

Online Shopper Beware! I recently purchased items online. I waited for notification that my items arrived and are available for pickup. I emailed customer service and was informed the items were lost in store. I proceeded to call the store directly and I spoke with the manager. He informed me that Walmart has no way to determine if the online purchases that arrive daily from UPS are accurate. There's no report that tells in store Walmart associates that they should have 10 boxes on Monday, 8 boxes Tuesday, etc. Therefore it's just by chance that you actual receive your online order. Now that I'm aware of this, I'll definitely shop at Amazon as they conduct due diligence and I'm guaranteed the items I order. read more

So... I try to avoid Walmart in my real life but it's closest to the parents so sometimes it's necessary. 1st: this one is big.. I mean really big. It's also designed to expose you to product vs convenience: example, there is about a half mile between the milk, bread and eggs. If you need socks AND eggs for example, make sure you use the can first because it's a time commitment. 2nd: many shelves are bare like all other Walmarts. Interestingly, they still crap the aisles up with pallets of unshelved product (which makes your walk even longer). 3rd: like all Walmarts, help is impossible to find and untrained. I waited 20 minutes to buy a laptop. 15 of that was the cashier trying to unlock the 27 different anti theft devices on the cabinet. Shockingly, they didn't have the pc I wanted. I have to say on first impression, the store looks massive and great. In reality, it's just same ole Walmart with a lot more exercise involved. read more

This store receives one star only because I can't give it zero. I have wasted more time than I care to share sitting on hold, getting hung up on, having store employees tell me my order was not in store even though I received an email saying it was. Then, surprise, it was in the store, they just couldn't locate it. So I asked to have them assemble the bicycle, which was a service they provide. Five days later, I called to check on the status and the bicycle is still not assembled. This was intended to be a birthday gift for my husband so we could take family bike rides together. It is now over 3 weeks since I ordered the bicycle and it is still not ready for pick up. I cannot believe this horrible service and utter incompetence. Rest assured, Walmart, I will not be visiting this store, or any others, again. You have lost a customer. read more

This review is specifically about the optical department. I waited about 45 minutes while the salesperson had a very friendly and prolonged transaction with a Hispanic couple. When my turn finally came, the salesperson, also Hispanic, refused to understand my request no matter how many times I explained it to her. I wanted to buy a pair of frames so I could use the temple pieces on another pair of frames and needed help finding a pair with a similar hinge. Although this seemed pretty straightforward to me, it wasn't to her and our exchange became increasingly unfriendly. It finally became clear that she didn't want to help me and it seemed to me that she was purposely refusing to understand. I finally left in frustration. read more

I stop by this Walmart store with some regularity. In the past, I always found the staff helpful, and since the conversion to a superstore, it is very convenient. In the grocery area, they do have a bias toward Mexican offerings, but that is not surprising, given the workers in the local farming community. Having lived in Southern California, I actually appreciate that they clearly in tune with their customer base. And, personally, I enjoy cooking same, despite my Irish ancestry. However, yesterday I had an unacceptable experience with the pharmacy. The pharmacist incorrectly filled my prescription. Thankfully, it was just about time (30 v 90 day) but the tech and pharmacist would not revisit my paperwork when I questioned what was provided. Once home, I verified what my doctor had prescribed as I was fortunate enough to have a hardcopy, and returned to the store to receive what my doctor had ordered. They were unapologetic, I would NEVER have my doctor submit electronically a prescription to this store. The pharmacist is not responsive to customer questions. While in my case it was not, this could be a matter of life or death. read more

i went to this walmart once when the one in exton was for months out of an item that i really needed. i expected good things and it didnt disappoint. it is much bigger than exton and has a much larger selection of items including food, furniture and dvds. read more
