love this store!! miss the one guy who worked there for years as a manager what happened to him? I saw him a few more times last year but he's disappeared since. I always saw him in sykesville too read more

HIRE CHECKOUT STAFF I came here at 5:30pm on a Tuesday, had a full cart of groceries, and had to use self-checkout because the only manned checkout was 10 items or less. I had to juggle self check out for a FULL cart, which is OBNOXIOUS because there is only a TINY spot to put bags so you have to juggle putting bags in the cart while still ringing items. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE. HIRING SOME F*CKING STAFF!!!!!!!! read more

1/23/2026-I just called the Walmart in Hampstead, MD and clicked on Electronics. A man answered and was irritated that I was looking for a battery operated space heater for my greenhouse (temps predicted to get down to 4 degrees F tomorrow night). I had a UPC number and he grudgingly looked it up and said it wasn't in stock and to call back and get Customer Service. I asked if there were any other battery operated space heaters in stock and he said that he can't access them. There is NO CUSTOMER SERVICE IN THE STORE'S MENU. I tried the operator three times and the phone just kept ringing and ringing. I tried another selection and a computer came on and didn't answer my question. I figured that I would find out BEFORE I went to the store but there was no cooperation from the store!!!! read more

This store needs better management. It is messy, the clothes are very cheap and low quality particularly womens. And it looks dirty and unkept. Clothes lying on floor, it is sad it use to be a very nice store. Upper management - FIX IT! read more

Buyer beware! If you have online grocery orders delivered to your home, Walmart has zero liability around that order. They contract with a third-party called Spark so if you get sick or anything's wrong with your food, the responsibility is not on Walmart. It is on Spark. Good luck! Also, I'm sure there's a lot of store managers at the Hampstead superstore but the one that kept pushing me off and kept me on hold for 32 minutes still wouldn't speak to me in the store and made a team leader do it, you are weak! read more

Having people on registers when the store is busy on weekends. Being better about not having lots of boxes in the aisles.

The inefficiency of the curbside pick up is astonishing. At least 15 cars waiting and I'm right by the door. Things come out maybe every five minutes and the employees are standing around looking at their devices, I guess trying to figure out what needs to come out. The whole thing is one massive cluster f/(k. Whoever is tasked with running this operation either needs training or firing. What a mess. read more

Bunch of arrogant rude employees who care little about there job and even less about there customers. I hate shopping at this location, Westminster location is far better, well stocked, clean, and you will find most employees there are polite and helpful I do most of my grocery shopping at Aldi, lower prices and good quality private label. Today my experience was horrible I picked up 2 vegetable broth items off the food clearance end cap, there was no price on them so I went to customer service and was told they were $2.49 each which is the regular price ! Had to show a photo I took of them on the end cap before anyone would believe me ! I worked in retail management for years and told them that it is illegal and deception to sell a discontinued item for clearance without marking it down, also all the other items were 50% off ! This apparently was amusing to them, and they sniggered and laughed at me I will never shop there again, we spend $5,000/ year on groceries that will now go to Aldi/ Weis What a horrible store read more

Worst customer service in the area. i would strongly recommend driving to Hanover if you must go to Walmart. I have an issue with Green Dot gift cards. I tried to get it resolved through them first with zero success. I contacted the Walmart in Hampstead where I purchased the card. I was told that there is nothing they can do. Customer service manager refused to speak to me. Worst customer service experience in my life read more

I had a wonderful experience while there with the gardening depart. Good staff in that section!

Dirty disheveled store! Always looks like a wreck no matter what day you go in the store! Never seams to be fully stocked Love the grocery pick, never had issue till today when I arrived at 5:30 and waited till 6:20pm Called the manager of the store because the guy helping was great and doing his best and I wanted to ask why...they did not schedule properly. That does not sound to our face because you can never get in and out of Walmart quickly because they never have all the lanes open even during the holidays! Self check out always has a line around the corner!Prices are good, but that's all Walmart. read more

Yesterday ,09/09/23, at around 3:00 pm I went shopping at the Walmart in Hampstead, Md. It was a terrible day for shopping. Being unable to walk very far because of health problems I must use a battery powered card. what I found was nearly all areas were blocked off by clearance carts, stocking carts and racks used by employees to pull orders. It was very hard to get around and I was not able to get even half of the things I needed because I could not get to the items. I always thought restocking was done at night, not during the peak hours on the weekend. One employee had a lane blocked with a pallet on the floor right in the middle of the lane and also a ladder right in the way. I'm sorry, but never again will I subject myself to that needless stress level ever again ! read more

Staff are not friendly and are lazy!!2 examples: went to toy dept and asked oldler lady if she had an item her reply was: look around if its you dont see it its not here...very rude...then went into garden area and asked for a item and the associate had no clue what i was talking about I walked outside both doors then I saw down one of the isles a whole shelf. employees need to be crossed trained.I should of checked first ...store is always dirty ..thats all for NOW... read more

I go here almost daily. I am starting to feel harassed. every time I go to leave the guy checks my receipt. Today he grabbed my cart with my kids in it. I love my kids with everything I have I almost lost my temper. He needs to lose his job. read more

Came in for one item baby formula and had to stand in line for 15 minutes for self checkout at 9pm at night

Clean and very well stocked. This location is easy to navigate and the cashiers do a great job to get you out quickly.

This Walmart is great! The guys with 1 star reviews should definitely go check out Walmart in Reisterstown or even in Westminster.

Every time my dr calls in a prescription, they don't have it. I have to wait a day or 2 to get it. I just called to check on most recent prescription and was told it would be ready in an hour or 2. I asked her what does that mean and when do I know when to come. Again, her answer was an hour or 2. SMH read more

This auto center is hilarious! You are greeted with a mean look and crappy attitude almost immediately upon entering. I am the first one here so they are extra rude. These people don't want to be here and they make it very clear. I wish I could afford to go somewhere else. It is however a great social experiment. I can count the number of times they shake THIER heads with disappointment while clearly talking about me. I could also count the number of patrons wearing sweatpants. This place is terrible. However, I'm drawn to it. I love you walmart. You're like a drug dealer. read more

I ordered an express delivery at 6pm tonight that was supposed to be delivered at 821pm. they sent me an update when they had to substitute an item. At 845 I reached out to chat on Walmart.com and they said 'driver canceled order' but my order still says processing. I was spending $18.95 on express delivery tonight because I am Covid positive and didnt want to expose anyone but I needed dinner. It's now 9pm, I don't have dinner or milk or Tylenol and no one ever reached out to me from the Hampstead Walmart. If they can't fulfill these orders they shouldn't take them. Now trying to figure out what I can do for groceries and dinner. Highly disappointed read more

I think people are too hard on these people in these hard times. These employees put their health on the line every day for ungrateful, selfish customers. I have found the employees at this store to always be helpful and friendly. The store is clean and the food and produce side is always as stocked as these times will allow. The only problem is that greedy hoarders are stripping the shelves of paper goods and medicines and are stockpiling them. Kudos to the professional dedicated employees of the Hampstead Walmart. read more

slowest staff some seem to be just standing around when more lanes could be opened plus never have stuff stocked bad for business

My one-star rating and my review comments pertain only to my experience today with Ethan, the front end manager of the Hampstead MD Walmart. This jerk shouldn't even have a minimum wage job at Walmart, much less a management position. My return of merchandise to customer service was problematic and so I requested to speak with a manager. Ethan was summoned and then I was told he was assisting another customer (out of my view) and would be with me shortly. Approximately 30 minutes later, after the customer service employee, Krissy, had jumped through a few hoops to work out the problem with my return, Ethan was still a no show and no longer needed ... because Krissy had done Ethan's job for him. I guarantee there was no other customer issue Ethan was dealing with while he had kept me waiting. I guarantee he only said so to get out of dealing with my issue. I told Krissy, sarcastically, to thank Ethan for me for all his help and I told her she should be the front end manager instead of that lazy jerk who hasn't a clue what being a manager and serving customers is all about. read more

I love this store, the people once you get there are wonderful, BUT the must have some of the most rudest people answering their phones. They let the phones ring and ring and ring, and when they do answer its an attitude that you the caller had the nerve to call them. Then you are placed on hold for ever!!!!! If it wasn't that once you get through and they are able to help you, I wouldn't call at all. Hey, Walmart managers, get better people answering your telephones!!! read more
