I have to rank this Walmart with 5 stars, yet again. I have the option to shop the commissary on base, but Walmart is competitive and offers so much more. Sometimes I visit this store twice a week. There's always plenty of room in the parking lot. I like that they have wipes available to wipe down the carts. The store is always so clean, well organized, and stocked. I do like their meat department quite well. I really liked when they had several self checkout stands, but they've done away with several of those stands and they put regular cashiers back in. I still like to use the self checkout. One thing I don't expect from them is great customer service. It's Walmart. The few times I have had to ask someone where something is, I've received a helpful response. For the most part, I use the app to help me locate what I'm looking for. I'm so glad that Edgewood has this store. read more

Me and my mom were walking out of Walmart then one of the staff, his name was Matthew the front door guy. He was an absolute menace, very rude, and no professionalism towards my mom and has harassed her, apparently has been doing this for some time. (I witnessed this as well so keep that in mind) I had enough and had to tell him to back off and basically had to go past him with force bc he was physically stoping us from leaving because he was leaning against my basket. He does this with my mom by herself most of the time so I'm glad I was there. My mom doesn't go to this Walmart at all anymore because of this guy and I doubt she ever will. This guys behavior is weird, unacceptable, and unprofessional especially since he doesn't check anyone else if my moms there he literally keeps other customers waiting just so he can check everything single thing in our basket, Thanks Matthew for making my mom so uncomfortable that she can't go to Walmart in her town anymore, great work! read more

Food that goes bad within a day produce that literally rots in your fridge overnight meat that spoils in the fridge overnight what else can I say about Walmart? Their quality has gone down because their corporate machine is greedier and greedier more every single day the prices has gone up they make your bag your own groceries and they charge you for bags. Produce is always rotting. Cans are more dented than I've ever seen anywhere else. Employees always standing around texting on their phones or actually talking on their phones, with earbuds they think no one sees. Many of the employees loudly gossip around each other as they stand around talking in one of the aisles. Cussing loudly while chatting. Employees don't know where items are, like newspapers. The best items are on 7-8 food tall top shelves, where no one can reach them. With the labels turned around so you cannot see what the item is, with all the most unhealthy options down low and facing the right way. Prices that have tripled. If you do a pickup order, you will get dented cans and rotting or extra small produce. If the shopper is lazy, they might mark your item as out of stock. But if you go into the store, there it is, plain as day. When getting my pickup order outside, employees have broken my trunk. Not once, but twice, trying to force it more open. Now the trunk has to be propped up with a stick. Can't even use it really. All that said, they do have most of what you need and most of the employees are nice and helpful. A lot of the young mean are aloof and almost rude, though. Like you're interrupting their text messaging, and burdening them by asking for help reaching the water bottles that are almost never being restocked to lower shelves. There's always an employee in the bottled water aisle, but more often than not, are texting or chatting. I've had to go to the broom aisle, get a broom handle and go back to the water so I can help myself to reachable gallon jugs. Most businesses have absolutely no pride in a job well done anymore. So if you don't mind stuff like that, go for it. It's a shame that so many businesses around here have low or no integrity anymore. And act entitled and offended if you have anything to say about it. read more

So I've been to several Walmarts in NM. And for Safest and cleanest this Walmart gets 4 stars alone!!! No idea about their customer service haven't needed it yet.. but the greeters are usually friendly and kind. I've always been able to find what I needed and surprised at the quality of things I have found and bought. Only Walmart I will go to now and do grocery shopping at, so far haven't had a bad experience yet.!! read more

I'm really not much of a Walmart fan. I like that they have super cheap stuff. And I like that they exist out here in the boonies where there isn't much else. But for some reason, when I come into this particular Walmart, they never have what I want. Simple stuff, like a plain, basic chair. Or plant starter. Or those little plastic things you use to label plants. Or that thing I saw last week and now want one of, but can't find. Or they're out. They're only slightly closer for me than going into Albuquerque but since the hit rate is so low, I end up going into the city anyway. Check out is weird here too. They have like a half dozen people monitoring the "self checkout" lines but only one actually checking people out. And they close all the doors in the middle of the day so you have to walk to the far side of the store, then back, then back to the far side again to get out, then back to your car. It's a minor nuisance, but it adds like 20 minutes to any trip here. read more

I am not much of a Walmart shopper but decided to give them a chance to see if I could get a item I needed. Found the item but it was missing a huge piece it is suppose to come with. Well, the piece missing I didn't need so I asked about a discount which I have never heard of a store not giving. Well the STORE MANAGER. Couldn't get off her ass to come see what we were asking about & denied us the discount STATING "IF YOU WANT IT BUY IT IN FULL" this confirms my decision to not support this crappy store, the management or employees .. Went to pick up my prescription and a few items from the grocery section. I had two medications that were sent in my my physician a week earlier. When I was waited on there was only one. I asked the pharmacist if there was a problem with second prescription. I was then sent to another line where I was informed it was there but wasn't filled and it would be ready in 20 minutes. When I told her I would be back in 20. She rolled her eyes and said they would close at 8. Well since it was six this was not going to be a problem. The grocery store portion of the store was wiped out on many of their shelves. But we found what we wanted so we were good. At the register the was only one actual cashier. The other two employees were manning the self checkouts that had no one using them. I guess I'm old fashioned and still like a real person. I have always preferred the Edgewood Walmart to the ones in town because of their friendly and efficient service... I really hope they get back to what they were read more

Not having any Walmart in LA (that I can think of) I was anxious to visit here. This store is huge. They have everything you could possibly dream of. The prices are outstanding. I kept shaking my head that they were so low. I purchased a few things; even a dog carrier. The dog carrier was only $34. The food prices were very low. A big flavored water was only $.88! Wow. The store is ok, it is the employees that are awful. The worst ones are the ones who do the online order picking. The vegetables and fruits they pick for me are always close to rotting. I order grocery delivery for my mother, because she has a disability and a hard time getting around. I will have to try Smiths instead. read more

If you need anything for a family or a household, then this is THE place to go in Edgewood. Before this store, the residents of this 30-minutes-east-of ABQ town had a grocery store, a Walgreens and some dollar stores. Now, it has a giant parking lot and a whole world inside Walmart! They have two dining establishments, racks of clothes, rows upon rows of Halloween candies and costumes, canned goods taller than grown man, and much mucho more. I'm sorry, but this Walmart isn't even worth a star after my experience with there customer service last night. I had a couple items that had to be returned and went to the service desk to exchange them. But just because my receipt wouldn't scan , or just because the lady could not read the some of the numbers, refused to except the items, also telling me that she cannot exempt any items that totaled over $25.00. Folks, I have never heard that before and thought that what she had said was absolute bull crap! So I left there and went over to the clothing department to see if they could help and that was even worse than the service desk. Those people that work in the clothing department are the rudest people on earth! Very poor attitude toward customers! I even herd one person say that the Rustler jeans I had bought, were not and item that they sold in the store. That was bull crap too, cause they have a whole wall of them! Lastly finally had enough and walked to the self check out register and I had bought a tv and had to have the the security string that was rapped around the box taken off by a Walmart personnel. This Walmart definitely possesses the hallmark of good old fashioned customer service to its rural customers. I've experienced this personally, because I also treat the employees as people and not objects. Yes, there are areas that can be improved, but often those improvements are not possible with what the current staff is capable of, but need to be addressed from higher up in the chain of command. Pamela, the manager does a great job, as do the many cashiers, stockers, guest service associates and department managers. I often hear people say it's the best Walmart they've ever been to. Everyone knows everyone by name, even Frankie the guest greeter at the front door. Yes, not all of the employees will all be full of smiles and graciousness, but if you smile, take time to look at their name tag and talk to them you might just learn something pretty interesting about them that you wouldn't have known otherwise. PS - Also, thank you for allowing truckers to park in your lot and shop there. After all, how do we get our goods in the first place, without the heartbeats of America?! read more

Horrendous. First the phone department sells Verizon phone which can Not be activated for Verizon service then when returned in time for refund the assistant manager refuses to refund. So now they will earn Wal-Mart an official complaint to the FCC and complaints to state consumer affairs and city chamber of commerce. Absolutely Do Not trust this electronics department. read more

It is now more practical to drive to Albuquerque than patronize this store and it's deplorable management. Today capped the lid on my shopping there. Clerks that won't answer a question. They ignore act like you aren't there as they yammer with each other. The clerk in electronics walked off while i was still asking him a question and went back to standing and doing nothing. There are never enough lines open to accommodate the customer load and the clerks that are there move in slow motion while yapping with customers. The self checkout a mess and as the employee who tried to help me before she just walked off said they suck. I told her the whole store sucked and it does. you have to dodge the workers ramming though the doors with pallets who give you crappy looks if you don't dive out of the way. When you need a sales associate you have to search the whole store before finding one. When you do find them, they are either unwilling to help or do not even know where to find someone to help you. Unfortunately this is the only "bigger" store to shop unless traveling to Albuquerque. More than one I've been stopped by lost prevention and the front "greeter" demanding to see my receipt. If you don't stop they hound you going all the way out the door. More than once I've gone through the checkout line with them watching and yet they stop me. Why? I dunno... We absolutely love this Walmart! If I lived in ABQ, I would drive to Edgewood to shop at this Walmart. It's that good!!! The employees are friendly and kind and the best part- the store is quiet. Walmarts in ABQ are jam packed with people and claustrophobic. This is a peaceful country Walmart and even on days leading right up to Christmas you can have an enjoyable shopping experience without having to elbow the mobs. They are stocking a lot of organic foods now and with the grocery pick-up, even grocery shopping is a dream! read more

Its like this location has never heard of this thing called the Phone. They refuse to use it. You can call for days and they will just ignore it. When you walk in the store you watch worker after worker ignore calls like its some type of game to them. It's also clear management does not care about this unless they are deaf. read more

This store is possibly the worst one I have been in. The stocking is erratic, shelves are more than half empty. Common grocery items aren't even carried and when you ask you just get the brush off. But the worst is the site-to-store. Turns out the freight carrier walmart uses doesnt deliver to Edgewood so packages are handed off to another delivery company. One that is closed on weekends and has NO delivery schedule. As of today my order is five days past the promised delivery date and all 1-800-walmart can say is "tomorrow tomorrow". The store is even worse, the site-to-store representative Michael told me it's not her problem, she doesnt handle shipping. read more

My mother went to the Edgewood Wal-Mart to get a credit or exchange on a Uniden Cordless phone I had purchased for her. She was denied all of the above for what reason? Still unknown, except for the fact that my mother barely speaks English. After taking my time to call from CO., (where I live) I spoke with Ceci, the manager. I then explained myself to her and vented. After almost an hour, my mother was finally given a store credit. The manager was never seen face to face. I've never had such POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE at a Walmart. This is disheartening. I can imagine how they treat their employees. read more

This Walmart does not carry anything!! I went in for a coffee mug warmer. " Oh, we are out of them". I went in for a hooded hair dryer for my wife's birthday. "Oh, we don't carry them". I am given this answer about 95% of the time at this Walmart. They don't stock or carry most items.This is supposed to be the biggest Walmart in the U.S., but they don't even carry as many products as the smallest Walmart in Albuquerque. There is no reason to shop here, because they simply don't have what you want. I almost always have a bad consumer experience at this store because of this. I was at the Edgewood Walmart store today,I brought some 2 Box of Hatch Green Chile,GREAT Price, I brought at 12:33PM,I took it straight to the roasting area, their was 2 employee with 3 roasting machine,they was not at all organize. Their was 12 basket of chile ahead of me,some had two box of chilie some has one boxe. At approx 1:45 they was running out of bags,so they close down and both employee went for bags,only one came back. I went inside and ask for a Manager,a lady came to me and ha d a customer service supervisor badge,I ask her if she could find more help out front,she state that she would tell a Manager .Approx 2:45 another lady came out to help. Finally a manager came out and stated that she was sorry but they was short handed,and was calling Albuquerque stores for more bags.but they was also roasting chilie and did not have any,so they had to take bags off the shelves. They was also roasting chile for employee before customer,one was name Olga. They finnaly had my chilie roasted at 3:33. 3 hour later. They was completly un prepare for any type of sale on chilie. I and other customers stood three hours in the hot sun. very pore customer service,no matter what the price was,very disappointed. Dan read more
