We stopped in here last weekend to shop for some Christmas trees and different things like that. And we came across a pretty good selection of stuff for Walmart. It's Walmart. They're all about the same three star sounds about right

Wal-Mart is nototiously known for not taking the time to make it's stores look great or even remotely better than what they are and this store in particular is no different, matter of fact, it's worse. On this particular trip to my local Wal-Mart upon arriving I parked on what Wal-Mart calls the GM side or what they have branded as their "Home & Pharmacy" entrance simply because I needed to pick up a jump starter for my car (more on that situation later.) After exiting my car and walking towards this particular entrance, I noticed that they have it roped off however I was under the impression that it could still be used as an entrance but as I saw customers also walking up and walking away, it was quite clear this entrance was not open. There are no signs whatsoever stating this and a simple banner over the top of this entrance would go a long way in helping customers know that this entrance is closed. I don't understand the necessity of closing one side of the store, especially during a pandemic in which everyone is now entering and exiting on one side which upon entering the grocery side it was very packed and no possible way to maintain six feet which is something Wal-Mart says to do, but doesn't at all enforce along with just how much they fail at making customers wear masks which I saw several guests not doing at all. I'm not sure why businesses are so afraid of enforcing such a simple rule but why have them if you refuse to enforce them? When I made my way to the Auto Center, of which no employees were present, the jump starter is behind a glass case. I finally found an employee and asked to have them get the item I needed. This employee that looked like they were working in this section of the store said they didn't have keys which makes absolutely no sense because why would you have an employee work an area that has a glass case but not give them the keys? The employee said that they had to find management to get them a key, so the employee had to page for a manager. One thing I will never understand is why Wal-Mart doesn't provide their employees with walkie-talkies for simple communication between associates. It would make things so much simpler, but like most Wal-Mart stores, they refuse to do anything to help keep their customers happy and make things easier as well as better for their employees. I do not recommend anyone shopping at this store unless it is the only Wal-Mart close to you and please make your trips quick as they are not doing anything to help keep employees and customers safe from this pandemic.

A HUGE thank you to the bakery department for making our sons birthday cake! I can't remember the girls name who took my order and presented me my cake but she was AMAZING! The cake was delicious and our little guy loved it! The bakery department is top notch at this Walmart, they were nice, helpful and very easy to work with!

The pharmacy will tell you your prescriptions are ready THEN ask you to wait 20-30 minutes to pick up.

As I'm sipping my delicious wine, I find that my mind is drawn to one important thought: This Ollie's Bargain Outlet that I visited in Clarksville two months ago would have been greatly improved if they sold wine. Ollie's doesn't sell wine (or any alcohol, for that matter). Too bad! But if you're in the market for discounted boxes of Hungry Jack mashed potatoes, bird feeders, comforter sets, off-brand slider storage bags, water guns and neoprene gloves, Ollie's is your store. There's a lot of stuff everywhere, and honestly, it's a little overwhelming. Ollie's takes a page from the Aldi playbook: There are just ripped open boxes of items on the shelves. To heck with aesthetics -- Ollie's is too busy saving you money to fiddle around with arranging items on a shelf nicely. I stopped in to get some lotion, and wouldn't you know, I could only find one bottle of lotion in the whole store. It wasn't a brand that I would have normally bought, but you can't be picky at Ollie's. You get what you get or you can get the eff out. Visiting Ollie's is like participating in a treasure hunt. You don't know what you'll find, or if you'll find anything at all. But it's worth a shot to stop in and try.

I've read several business articles stating Penney's is headed for bankruptcy…read more Normally I'm sympathetic to the plight of stores closing. However, after our experience with the Penney's store in the Greentree Mall, I totally understand why they are headed in that direction. Since the first of March, we've taken every precaution to protect ourselves from Covid. One of our strategies has been to use curbside touch less shopping as much as possible. We made an online purchase at Penney's which in itself was a debacle, but we did finally get it done. We received an email stating our order had arrived at the Greentree Mall Penney's. The email even gave instructions as to the steps to pick up our purchase curbside. Included was the local phone number to call upon arrival for pick up. We arrived at the designated area and called the specified number. It rang forever, then we received a voicemail stating no one was available. We chose to be transferred to the store's operator. Once again after numerous rings, the call went to voicemail stating no one was available to take the call. We waited a few minutes and then went through the same call/ voicemail, call/ voicemail. We did that THREE times and never got in touch with anyone! Finally we decided to drive around to the front of the store, mask up, and go into the store. Once inside we did retrieve our package. When we related what happened and our displeasure, we were given a half hearted sorry about that. Kind of defeats the whole idea of curbside pick up!

However, I feel like their clothes are not the best quality, but are a cheap price. I do occasionally find things that are a bit overpriced and would probably never buy something that isn't on sale here. They do have a Sephora, which (I think) would make it the only one in Southern Indiana, so it's nice to have that there. I feel like JCPenney has been going downhill over the years, and may potentially be lead to the grave where Sears was sent to. But only time will tell.

After ooohing and aaahing over all the spring and summer lights and the great patio furniture we made our way to the wall decor. I believe we were there for what felt like an eternity. You can buy linens and coffee mugs, a new broom or whatever you might need and the prices here are reasonable. There were a few isles that I'd noticed were clearance. I love a good sale. As I browsed the store & started picking up things to buy, I was sure that I wasn't going to get out of there for less than $50. My final bill was only $14! Some things are dirt cheap. Other things are cheap, but way too expensive for what they are. Other things are just expensive. My biggest advice for this store is to only go here when you're needing something for your home. If you go aimlessly looking, then you might come out with more than a few things that you didn't need at all. This store did seem more organized than at home. It's also much smaller. I still spent nearly 2 hours in the store looking at things, but that beats 3-5 hours in a larger comparable store. I'll most likely be back, but it'll be when I'm looking for something specific.
