Big difference in Walmarts we no longer will go to the Chardon one. We picked up a TV for my daughter, on camera the whole time, purchased on camera, watched the whole time. Guy sneaks up on us show we purchased it. I presented the receipt, I told him we are not thieves, we're tired of being insulted. He says its policy, following orders, I said I get it but convey to bosses, we feel insulted, guy just kept on at me. I waited for my husband to pick me up with the TV guy kept on at me while others left unchecked. I asked him twice to drop it and agree to disagree. Finally as he kept getting closer to me said are you trying to intimidated a survivor of assault you snuck up on, then wont drop the matter, continue to argue the point that I said convey the message. He continued, I said look you continue to get closer to me and in my face about this, leave me alone. Finally he noticed he had other receipts to look at. My daughter said the same Vietnam Vet has been an issue before. We will stick to Middlefield and Madison Walmarts. The guy just refused to agree to disagree and kept on at me. Got racially profiled today. Their Lost prevention guy Tim accused us for stealing, or we didn't buy certain items as he checked our receipt, he notice that WE did purchased our items. He didn't wear any gloves while checking our bags, and didn't properly have his mask on. We come to this store everyday and they're always rude and some are racist. I knew one day it was coming and today was it. Will be calling corporate on Tim for falsely accusing us for stealing. read more

With all the issues of employee shortages (both hiring new employees and retaining employees), especially post covid, it's good to see several employees who still care about exceptional customer service. Two employees in particular I would like to mention are Jim and Tammy. Jim works mostly at the front entrance. He is very personable , respectfull and always has a great attitude. He always makes a point of saying hello or goodbye. I know it's a thankless job at times, especially when people refuse to show their receipts when asked, but he never lets it bother him, and he cheerfully greets the next person he comes in contact with. Tammy works the front end (I assume in a managerial role), and she is also very personable and caring. She has helped me a few times with issues at the self checkouts and has always done so with a kind attitude. Several other employees are worth mentioning for similar customer service traits, but I do not know their names. I'm sure management likely knows who I'm talking about. read more

This place is great if you're up for an annoying adventure of dodging this or that. In the summer months you'll get bombarded with what ever charity sets up in front of the doors trying to push what ever fund raiser they're promoting. They'll get you on your way in and out. Once you're inside you get to play obstacle course with the curb side pick up carts and the pickers. They're big and bulky and almost always blocking the aisles and most of them don't care that you're a customer trying to shop. If you can get past them be on the look out for the sneak attack of the sales people that roam the aisles by the grocery, usually Spectrum or some electric company provider. If you are super lucky, they'll both be there. If you survive all that and they actually manage to have things you want in stock then you get to play the is there actually an open line game. The self check outs on the ends are cramped and getting smaller and smaller and the ones in between are hardly ever open. Congrats! You've paid and are now home free....OH NO! Now you get to deal with the "we're going to indirectly accuse you of stealing/can I see your receipt" door monster. Say no and keep walking and you have survived another Chardon Walmart trip. (Say no to the door receipt checker and keep walking. You have no legal obligation to show them your receipt. You don't have to prove you didn't steal anything.) read more

Eye center is absolute trash. Eye doctor is rude and not worth the time I spent in the waiting room. Was told I absolutely had to come back for a follow up for my contacts. Waited in the lobby that was full of some woman's sick children couching everywhere for over a half hour. No one called to let me know she was behind. Mind you I called on my way to make sure there wasn't a wait and was assured they had no other appointments and would get me right in. There's a flu pandemic but yes, let's put everyone in one tiny room to WAIT. Then they told me I could just have the contacts I have and write me a prescription for them when they are NOT the correct prescription so clearly being CORRECT is not this woman's concern. What. A. Joke. I'd sign up for a lobotomy before I ever came back. What a laughable practice. To add insult to injury. I came in to find my contacts have been back ordered. Which is the whole reason I'm here today so I essentially sat in the lobby with sick children for 45 minutes for nothing. GREAT WORK DOC. read more

Their management sucks and doesn't follow the rules they claim too. For example they have a no tolerance policy on discrimination but no employees actually ever get a consequence for it. I worked here and quickly hated that the management was not helpful, didn't communicate, and will fire you the first opportunity they get but complain about not having enough employees. they'll also limit your hours the most they can to keep you at part time and then get upset when they don't have enough help. read more

I've been a long time shopper at the Chardon Walmart and have become immensely disappointed with the decline in employee morale over the past five or six months. Prior to recent months, mobile shoppers and cashiers would happily say hello to me and help me find any items I was unable to find (especially considering how large this location is, this was incredibly helpful). However, recently, every time I enter Walmart, every mobile shopper appears extremely depressed and like they would rather be anywhere else than at Walmart. I believe they got a new manager so I don't know if this new managers strict reign has crushed their spirits, but all I know is I miss feeling welcomed and happy entering the Chardon Walmart. read more

Prices are very reasonable, and I save quite a bit shopping here for food and household items over Giant Eagle or Heinens. Downside is that the customer service is pretty poor and you have to wait forever to get checked out because they usually only have 2 lines open. They have added self checkout, and that is fine, but they close it up around 11:30 PM each night to count intake, and when they do, you have 1 line to checkout in and the person working as cashier is usually very slow. I've waited in lines 8-10 customers deep on Friday nights, and they refuse to basically open a 2nd line until enough people complain about it. read more

It's exactly what I expect from wal mart but it's a slightly bigger store and it has self checkout which makes life easier because there's rarely ever a lane open at a Walmart. I can't say I recommend it more or less than any other Walmart but it seems to be clean and well kept. Also, it is indeed 24 hours. read more

Walmart has great prices on lots of items but has poor customer service. I only shop here when i'm in need of something cheap or if I forgot something important. We ended up here recently because the hubby left his suitcase at home. i told him to grab both suit cases and i figured he dumped them in the truck before we left, but i trusted him and never checked. I guess its a good thing he brought mine instead. haha So he ended needing all the essentials. Pants, shirts, socks, underwear and bathing products. We ended up spending about $100 which isn't bad seeing that he got enough clothes for 4 days. The one good thing about this walmart is that they sell alcohol here which isn't available in PA. We bought 2 six packs. He wanted Bud light lime and I wanted Mike's hard strawberry lemonade. Damn those drinks are good! About $8 a case but still not too bad for a sixer. Walmart is the kind of place where you grab what you need and try to get out as fast as possible before you end up going down some random aisle and walk out with a 50" TV. read more

Chardon Walmart used to be the best Walmart around since it opened sometime in the 1990's. Unfortunately I can no longer say that. In the last few years it has gone downhill. I wonder if management has changed or if Walmarts in general are not what they used to be They used to have small carts for those who are only buying a few items. Now they have none. They have changed the store around and since then some products that I have bought regularly are no longer offered. This has been going on in the last several years-they carry less brands of items and less of a variety of items. On the positive side, I have found employes to be polite and helpful. read more

Customer service is non-existent! I ordered something from Walmart.com for my daughter and she was supposed to pick it up at this store by Nov. 30. I have been tracking it because I have always gotten my orders early from Walmart.com. The item arrived in the store at 12:11 PM on the 29th. At 6:00 PM my daughter called the store to see if it was ready, what a mistake THAT was. The person on the phone went on a rant about her workload, and she probably wouldn't have anything ready by the time her shift was over, and she didn't have time to check on this. Rant over. Compared to the walmart in Mentor, this walmart is super clean and nice. There is a good selection and things seemed orderly and done well.

After taking the time to carefully select 13+ pairs of pants I was excited to buy, I waited ten minutes at the fitting room. Since still no employees were in sight (except for a group of 20 or so employees having a meeting in the middle of the store), I politely called their phone number and asked them to please send someone to fitting rooms. They paged this over the speaker, and I waited eight minutes longer. Still no one. Needless to say, I left a giant pile of pants on the ground--a waste of my time and theirs. read more

They have really good prices but I absolutely hate going to Walmart. The quality of the item is always poor and they have terrible customer service. You can never find a employee and they are never really helpful and no one ever asks if you need help unless you somehow seek them out of where they're hiding. And whenever you go to Walmart it an all day event. First you have to find where your item is hidden in that giant store and second you have to wait an hour to check out because they only ever have two registers open. Seems to always be out of stock of everything. Can never find what I'm looking for. Things are always thrown about. Now that they have the curbside pick up, the workers are alway in the way in the isles. They're everywhere. Makes it hard to shop with their huge carts and totes in the way and them standing in front of you shopping for other people. Definitely gets aggravating. If you want to save a few bucks, then by all means shop here. But it's almost worth the couple extra bucks to shop at giant eagle where things are clean, Always in stock, and easy to find/organized. Also, there's never any check out lanes open. Have to use the self check out if you don't feel like standing in a line for 2 hours just to pay. They opened up another end of self check out lanes, but those are never open either. Not sure what the point of making that extra area if it's never usable. In all, this place just makes me want to pull my hair out every time I shop there. read more

Wal mart is supposed to be super center but in handling disgruntled employees and merchandisers who come into the store on a weekly basis the Chardon store does not give fair, communicative and professional experience. You need to address the issues in the back of the store and talk to your assistant manager, Greg, who needs to listen and behave in a way that is acceptable with the people he comes in contact with. A situation happened a month ago and it was never resolved. It was handled unfairly and unjustified and I will not come back into this store to give my patronage.
