So let's face it. The reality is that none of us are perfect and customer service is not always it's best due to that. Someone had a bad day? They may not provide the most conversational help or even give a thank you. Someone had a great day? They may be more lenient to let down their guard and let the words flow. Here at Trussville Walmart it is a middle ground. We love Online Pickup but it can be extremely slow, especially in the weekday evenings. Earlier in the afternoon you may be surprised for fast service, even reps at the bay waiting for you to park after you said you were on your way. But here and there they have mixed up customers' orders. Sometimes they may be on phone calls or listening to music while working with limited conversation or a goodbye. Again, no one is perfect and mistakes happen, but they were very kind when assisting us when these issues came up. We ultimately had to call the 1800 line to get help because the mixed bags were lost and probably on the way home with the mixed customer's things. This is a quiet store in the mornings and early evenings, but can get more smoking, loud music, loud customers the later the evening gets, so be wary. read more

Walmart is always an interesting place to visit. I needed camping supplies and thought it this would be a cheaper place to grab them. Not the case on cheaper place anymore! In typically Walmart fashion half of the items were not available. I made some substitutions on some but will visit another store for the other things. I did an online delivery from store order yesterday morning and when my order was delivered, it was missing 23 items. Coupled with a terrible parking lot (fiancé has had an accident here before), not too many checkout lanes open, and the shelves either being empty or disorganized most of the time, the two stars is pretty generous. There is a specific drink that a family member likes, and it is never in stock. However, if you can find a store employee, there are some always in the back. Omg once again more self check outs available than cashiers. Multiple items I needed NOT in stock. After standing in line for 10 minutes we finally made it to the beginning to register 1. Just to find out the belt isn't working. So we had to manually slide our items down. Walmart is investing their money into self-checkouts. They should be investing in there current cashiers checkout. I have been looking for a good deal on a 65" tv for a while. I saw one on the Walmart website for $398.00. I bought it on the site and selected PICKUP. When I came to pick it up, THEY DIDN'T HAVE IT IN STOCK! They were running around like chickens with the heads cut off. NO ONE knew what was going on! The girl that spoke with me over the phone said she would put my name on a refund list. I told her I would just cancel the order. I asked her, "So I paid for a tv you all don't have?!" This is my favorite walmart. I come here often because it's close to the house but also because they always have everything I need. Unlike other walmarts that tend to run out of stuff, this one is always on point. The greeters are always so nice and polite. My daughter use the optical service here and they are extremely professional. They have a good selection of frames to choose from. I like to get my groceries here because they always have nice deals. My youngest daughter loves the game room so I make sure that I have 2.00 dollars for that. I shop here often and I have no complaints thus far. read more

This Walmart customer service is beyond terrible. Like I don't even want to review this place but if I didn't, I'd be doing a disservice to people out here in Yelp land. All I wanted was a clear and concise price check on an item since the clearance sticker wouldn't register on the system. Technically, since it didn't ring up, it didn't have a price. I waited for over 45 minutes for help, no manager came, the workers were no where to be found, and I really wanted this headset. Long story short, I gave up and left them there. The manager that did get there acted if I was bothering her and beneath her. I don't expect 5 star service here at Walmart but dang it, at least give me some common courtesy. Just so self check out if you can if you really need something that doesn't require a worker to get it for you. I'll be going to Best Buy in the same area though I did an earlier review and I definitely don't have high hopes for this trip either. read more

Walmart in Trussville is dripping with swagu! This walmart is safe compared to other Birmingham locations such as center point. They also trust customers more here as reflected in the opportunity of self checkout, and the pregnancy tests aren't locked in a case (like in center point). They have also removed the armed guards: greeters with limbs extending from the torso, averaging ten digits. However, I am disappointed that they currently only have one PlanB One-Step in stock. My employer, Hobby Lobby, doesn't wish to finance my McDonald's parking lot back-of-the-truck date nights, post coitus. Smoking is prohibited in the back restrooms of the store, they don't have a sign but claim that it's implied. I shop here frequently and continue to do so, I can not control or suppress my addiction to "always low" pricing strategy. I will still need beer, fertilizer, pickled pigs feet, and hemorrhoid cream all from the same location. The rest of you yelpers are just h8rs! read more

This location is clean & well organized. I go (very) early on weekend mornings. Usually not a crowd then, but this place is PACKED during normal hours! Buggies/shopping carts (I'll put both since I don't know who is reading this) are normally in good shape and not too squeaky - but I do tend to find the one that is about every third or fourth visit. Everything is well spaced out, and you can find things easily here. Every time I've ever had to call, they've been friendly - I had to call about a gas cap being stolen from me recently while I was shopping. They were glad to help, though there wasn't much they could do without a police report. Overall, this is one of the better locations in town. read more

Have the worse experience yesterday. A young cashier at guest service accused me of sealing just because I didn't have an receipt for an item . I told her you should accuse anyone of stealing plus I spent $200 the same day. Was ask to give my ID and it wasn't for the return .I'm not happy with the store and how they handle the issue . The worst experience ever had at a Walmart. Sent my brother-in-law to pickup paint I order to finish nursery for my wife no one ever came out once he checked in. Call no one answer the phone. I understand it is back to school time, but stuff was absolutely everywhere. It was also just after church time on a Sunday afternoon, prime Walmart shopping time. For years we had shopped the Walmart Supercenter in Trussville because it was near us. Sometimes we would have trouble finding things because they were out of stock. Over the last couple of years it has gradually gotten worse and worse. We were starting to have to stop by Publix on our way home to complete the shopping list. I stay as far away from this Walmart as possible. Besides the crowds of unhappy, rude customers, you can tell the associates don't want to be there and are only there because they need a paycheck. From personal experience, I worked at a different Walmart for several years and even though the one I worked at was decent and even friendly in some respects, we had a huge turn over in associates. This use to be a very clean efficent Wal Mart Store but its gone downhill and keeps going. The parking lot is filthy and the stores not that clean either. The stock is always in boxes stacked all over the place seems like no matter what time of day or week you go. And they even close now to supposedly restock and clean??? Ironically i see a LOT more staff than i use to see but a lot of them can be found talking and just standing around doing nothing CONSTANTLY. The past month I got prepacked bacon that was in date but it wasnt edible smelt and tasted bad once cooked. I wonder if it didnt get got then cold again. Wouldnt surprise me there is always boxes on the floor in meat isle as well. The deli...is AWEFUL! Its not very clean back there and they take forever and i saw myself they dont change gloves before slicing meat. Using the same hands they just touched doors and everything else with to hold your meat. Thought id give them a second try besides i could watch them but was told by the girl behind the counter she couldn't cut meat and the only person that could just went on break for an hour! By the way it was an hour before they closed! Im beginning to feel that buying groceries at this store just isnt safe.. Sadly because Trussville is where i live and i use to love that Wal Mart but I'm just gonna have to shop elsewhere until they get management in there that will hire people that will work. Amazing compared to other Walmart stores. Pharmacy was slow but the staff is very amazing. For the most part the restroom is pretty clean. I also noticed they try to clean it regularly. So if you see the restrooms are a little disgusting just tell an associate and maintenance will be called. This Walmart Supercenter was clean, spacious, and stocked -- a unicorn in the world of big box stores. I was only in here a quick minute, due to cashiers actually working more that 3 lanes. If I could give 0 stars, I would. I needed to return an item so I went to guest services to return the item. There was a line of 11 customers and three employees at one register. It was absolutely ridiculous. I saw more employees that were walking around that could have helped at guest service, but none of them stopped to help. Apparently not enough employees know how to operate guest services. I honestly hate Walmart and the service they provide. The only reason I ever go back is because of the selection and prices. That is not the only reason I should have for going back to a shopping center. Walmart, you need to do better and hire better employees with better initiative and better service. Thank you. We use this Walmart regularly bc its very close. But like any other Walmart, these associates do not care about being there. They're ATM is constantly broke and no associate bothers calling the vendor. I know this because I talked with the field tech that happen to be there one day. Also, their actual store POS (and I mean point of sale) system has rejected debit cards when in fact its them and not you. But really my biggest gripe is the ATM. They simply put out of order and don't bother calling the 800 number on the machine. read more

I've read most of the post on here and they are back in 2016. This is 2018 now.This store use to be worth going to for things and i could find most every thing i needed but now everytime i go for groceries or anything there is hardly anything on the shelves and things im use to buying is no longer there. This is so frustrating because i get tired of having to go to so many other places to get what I'm looking for. I don't know what is going on but there are no body stocking shelves. I can go in on Monday and then again on the weekend and it's the same nothing on the shelves nothing stocked. I'm going to start going to a real grocery store for my food and to dollar General for my cleaning supplies. Wal mart is going to loose a lot of customers. I've heard so many ppl talking about this. Clean, well organized with a helpful staff and friendly check out. The produce department gets high marks for high quality, clean fresh products (I have worked in another Walmart store, produce department) as well as great selection. This is my #1 grocery store. The Deli has great salads in the cold case, excellent bakery products and helpful folks to wait on you. When I go to Walmart, I plan to take my time and look over various items. I'm a retired person on a fixed income so the prices are welcome. Sam's Club is across the road where I go for fuel and rotisserie chicken (the best on the planet). read more

On May 15th I was in the store shopping for a certain medical alert devise so naturally I went to the electronic dept. and ask a young man for this item. He very politely told me that the electronic dept. did not carry that item but he thought the pharmacy did. He said that he had to go to the front of the store and if I would like, he would be happy to walk with me to the pharmacy and I said yes that I would like that. He noticed that I was short of breath and he offered me his arm and walked slow by my side all the way. We found the item and he offered to carry it for me back to the auto dept. where I was having a headlight fixed on my car so that I could pay for the medical alert when I paid the bill for my car. It is rare to find a young person this day and time who will go out of their way to help a senior citizen and so I thought I would write a good review for his helpfulness and being so pleasant. He is an outstanding employee for Wal Mart and I think he should be acknowledged. I thanked him for being so kind and courteous and I want to take this opportunity to thank him again.
