Several of our group visited this location that was the closest to our lodge in black mountain. It is a large store and the sections I went in seemed to be stocked ok. We were here for various groceries and they did have everything we needed, just not the best quality produce. Prices varied from a little cheaper than home to the same. Signage could be better, I had a hard time finding what I was looking for. Two different employees had to guide me to the right section and they both seemed they were super stressed and hurried. I did eventually find what I was looking for but it was way too expensive. Only one brand choice, so I didn't get what I came for. They had both self serve and cashier assisted lanes. Store is always out of what I need. Also always moving products so theyre hard to find. Final straw was being unobviously stalked by plain clothed "security" for a good 30 minutes, for literally no reason. Only reason she stopped is because I found an employee and asked for help - because I thought she was a regular person (not security) and I was scared. Found out the stalker was an employee and promptly paid for my things and left the store irate. I called several times a day for the next several days to complain to a manager and surprise surprise no one ever picked up the phone. read more

DO NOT use their tire service center if you care about your rims. I have multiple chips on my BMW wheels and Walmart claims does not want to take responsibility. A worker named Bobby really sucks at customer service and should be only restocking the shelves. Bobby has zero communication skills and was extremely disrespectful talking smack about me to another customer. "People have to make my job harder" Well if you don't fuck up my rims that wouldn't be a problem you lazy jerk. The technicians need a lot more training on the new tire machine, and Walmart needs to provide the technicians with socket tools that will not scratch/burn the clear and paint on the rims. The technicians seem to act careless when handling rims. My center cap should've never been attempted to be pried with a flathead screwdriver. Saturday Shopping went well today! This is an organized Walmart and pretty clean for the most part. The staff seem very nice and happy. It's always a plus when shopping for items that you need. This is one of the worst pharmacies on this planet. The pharmacists are jokes. They shorted me pills and told me a robot in Florida did this. I asked them to replace the pills and their answer to this was " You have plenty of pills and you really don't need anymore pills"! Never have I ever heard such nonsense. I told my Dr. and she told them to release the pills back to me. She sent over a new prescription and they said they would not fill it for another month. That I had enough pills. This prescription is not a narcotic. So I now use another pharmacy. Better service, better pharmacists and better prices. I have no issues with Walmart as a whole but please beware of the pharmacy and the pharmacist and techs. They know NOT what they are doing and think they are physicians. Dream on guys. *** Update *** I had to cancel my order to get my money back since there was no telling when, if ever they were going to deliver it. However, Chance led me to need something from Walmart on Bleachery Blvd in Asheville, NC. While there, I remembered the chair I'd ordered originally tried to order online, so I asked my husband to go back in and pick one up for me. He did, but they charged an additional $5 for it. WTH? ************ ***Original Review*** I ordered 3 items from Walmart on Bleachery Blvd in Asheville, NC. Of those 3 items, I only received the one item that had to be shipped from somewhere else, but not this Walmart. The two that were supposed to be delivered were never seen; nor was l ever called with an explanation of the circumstances for the lack of delivery (which was that they couldn't find anyone that would deliver it locally - which is just plain sad). It was first promised on 06/23, changed to 06/24, then to 06/25, and once again to 06/26. So, that was 4 days that I couldn't go anywhere because I needed to be home to await a delivery. They couldn't be bothered to take the time to call me and let me know they were not going to be able to deliver it. There also was never anything showing the delivery problem on my online order (which I checked daily), giving me the option of having the rest of my order picked up by me or someone else. In my opinion, the "Manager" of this Walmart really "dropped the ball" and should either be retrained or find another job in which they may be better able to meet basic standards of employment. What was stopping them? "The Manager" in this instance, should have requested another employee to help, as backup for any lighter spot lifting (if necessary - nothing that requires equipment to move), and get those undelivered items to customers), as promised by Walmart. IT WAS A FOLD UP CHAIR, IN A BAG, WITH A HANDLE AND A MUFFIN PAN FOR PETE'S SAKE. SHEEZ... THEY COULD HAVE FIT IN PASSENGER SEAT OF A MAZDA MX-5 MIATA! I wonder if they do the same thing for groceries??? But, then again, if they can deliver groceries, then why can't they deliver other orders??? So, I requested to cancel the rest of my order on the 26th because I just can't keep putting my life on hold while they figure out how they are going to deliver my order. Then online, it said, "may take 10 business days for the bank to remove payment authoritation." Lovely... Online: Order with shipping = YES Order with delivery = NO!!! YES, all of this over a chair and a muffin pan. SORRY! I do have screenshots showing the dates and what they said, but Yelp doesn't allow uploading those apparently; it seems you can only use camera shots; but, how does one take a picture with their phone of something on their phone? I will never go back to the store again! I just got off work and tried to buy a bottle of wine and the cashier told me that she smelled alcohol so she could not approve the transaction. I spoke to a manager and he said sorry if she thought she smelled alcohol then we can't sell you the wine. I have never Experienced anything so absurd in my entire life. Apparently you need to get breathalyzed or something if you want to purchase any alcohol from Walmart. Popular Walmart+ Program | The store is overwhelmed with orders at the most popular times. There could be more staff loading cars for delivery. As a matter of routine, this store is emptied every night of red meats, chicken, key dairy items, bread (hotdog/hamburger buns, bagel, bread, english muffins, etc.), herbs, certain canned goods, bakery, women-specific items, cat food, bananas, fresh juices (not orange juice in the back), high-end milk, certain hot dogs/ sausages, and a lot of the Walmart brand food products. The store is usually fully stocked by morning only to be rapidly emptied. Avoid ordering from this store during food-related holidays (Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc.). Order from Arden, Hendersonville Road (probably the best choice), or Weaverville. The staff is excellent. read more

I have ordered from Walmart and used their curbside pickup since Covid. With my last order they said they had to ship my Bounty paper towels and Downey Unstopples. Okay no problem, they then cancel my paper towels (and I'm sure it's because they were on sale) but still ship my Unstopples. Unfortunately I got hit with a $9.98 shipping charge. I mean I could go into the store and I bet they have them on the shelf. This seems very unreasonable to charge a long standing customer with a charge bringing their total to $30 for something that only cost $18 and they most likely have the product in the store. Purchased a new fully assembled bike from this location, for our second home on 10/12/23. As it is a second home we aren't there much in the winter months. Went to use the bike for the first time on 6/8/24. Upon getting on the bike, on the trail after getting in out of my vehicle I fell off the bike. The brakes did not work, I could have been killed. Walmart sold me a product that they assembled incorrectly, and then sold to me that had a major safety issue. A bike without working brakes is clearly not safe, and is defective! I took the bike back to this location (which was where it was originally purchased) immediately with all the original paperwork and the sales receipt. It was plainly obvious that this was a new bike. The store told me they would not return the bike. That it was my fault that I did not test the bike outside sooner. I asked to speak with a manger and was refused. They brought out someone with a yellow vest that read team lead. Clearly not a store manager. He explained there was absolutely nothing no one could do. But he did acknowledge that yes, a bike with no brakes is a safety hazard...brilliant deduction! Yet again, I asked that someone needs to make this right. Again they refused! I worked at this store for almost 2 years. I was homeless when I started working there. After being hired, the human resources manager put an sos on the timeclock that an employee needs help. Many employees donated money to me. One associate offered me a room to rent. The group I worked with were some of the most caring people I have met. I still shop there. I order groceries from Walmart, because I have end-stage iarthritis n both knees and cannot carry groceries up multiple times. My husband, has heart issues and cannot make multiple stairs trips either. Our delivery directions said I would sign for them. Please put on porch,do NOT leave at basement door. Boo! I know many Walmarts don't allow overnight parking, but being moved along during open hours??? Many travelers using Walmart make multiple trips in and out of the store for more needs. I often will have a small project I'm working on in my van and end up going back inside to get more items. I've never been told I couldn't be parked in the lot during open hours. And it's not like the the lot was busy. There were hundreds of spots open and I was all the way in the back, in front of the park that is attached to the lot. Piss poor customer experience. What's going on with Walmart cosmetic/fragrance department? On Thursday, July 5, 2018 at approximately 12PM, before checking out, I stopped at the cosmetic department to replace my can of Perfume body spray. When I went into that department no one was there. When I grabbed the can and put it in my shopping cart with other merchandise, two Walmart associates (male and female) showed up like magic. They did not greet me. Not sure if they are racially profiling me because I am a person of color. If you are a person of color, you got something to be concerned about. I never had this problem before. I just want to show you the item is paid for. Disclaimer the following incident is for information purposes and it's not use to offend anyone: Before I left my home an incident took place on the bus. Situations like this make me wish, I was driving instead of taking public transportation. A group of White people who boarded the bus with me this morning. The older man with his foot in a sling set at the back of the bus from me. When he open his mouth, I smelt a foul unclean infectious odor that smelled like decayed tooth and cancer. I begin to gag, I almost threw up! I immediately got out of my seat and set closer to front near the bus driver. I rebuked it and mumbled a prayer of protection. If it is a dental related problem, I highly suggest that he get that taken care of as soon as possible. read more

I saw Walmart had a tire center and called, the manager was very nice & helpful and told me they were busy but to call back around 4. Fortunately I called and they were able to squeeze me in. Everyone knows that COVID changed everything, even your shopping experience. About The Walmart on Hwy 25 on the hill. I used to go there the most often because it was small, easy to access,, and could get in and out quickly. However, the last 2 or 3 times I have been there it has also been busy and crowded. On the one hand that is good for business. Yesterday I was there to return an item which took about 15 minutes because the CSR I suppose also had to work in another department. That done I needed eye drops, which were locked up tight,( sadly because people steal things that are not behind lock and key) but that took another 15 min. minimum to get help. Finally time to check out, but I wanted to pay cash, no registers were open. I started to walk out, but finally, they opened a register, which was a long line, so they finally opened another register. When I get to the car I can't help thinking my total seemed a bit high. Although now I find Walmart running about the same as Ingles on most things. Look at my receipt to find instead of being charged for only 2 Progresso vegetable broths,I was charged for 6, however, he did go back and deduct two. I was still overcharged for 2 which was $4. Started to go back in but I did not feel like dragging my groceries back in and spending another 30 min. in there. If they can't or won't hire enough people to run the store at the very least PLEASE change some of your registers to cash or credit. PLEASE make it a bit easier to get eye drops and other things that have to be locked up. This is not the first negative experience at their stores. Sometimes I do want to actually go in a store and purchase an item,but when it is such an aggravating experience I will simply go home and order online. read more

Been living in Asheville North Carolina for the last three years. Coming from New York, Walmart is an on usual store to frequent, but certainly a necessity There are quite a few in the area, but only one stands out as being a store that offers all that you could want in a shopping excursion. First of all, this store carries everything! The second thing, which is the most important part of the review is to let you know that the staff here at this particular location is heads and tails above the other stores in the area. Every time I come in, there's always somebody who helps me to find what I'm looking for. From my experience living here, that's a big big deal! Most stores have nobody to help you, and you got to really make some noise to get somebody to come and help you out On this one occasion, I needed somebody to assemble something for me in the store after I bought it. It seems that all people from Corporate office are the same kind of people. They are all interested in their bottom line. Big business doesn't remember how they got so big. For instance I'm sure that Sam Walton has turned over in his grave hundreds of times because of what his family and investors have done to the little guy. Recently April 7, 2023 ordered almost $500.00 of food through their online ordering service. My pickup time was between 2 o'clock and 3:00 PM. At a Walmart super center on Bleachery Blvd. Asheville NC. 28805. I always get to my appointments at least 30 minutes ahead of time so when 2 o'clock came and there was no food I called the online order and they said that they were running behind 30 minutes and that they had the right to do that. I sat on the phone waiting for the manager to answer for 45 minutes. He never picked up at all it can be easily seen that he is a perfect example of a Walmart Team. I have never been able to speak with a store manager because the are no where too be found. As it turned out, I did not get my food until about 2:58 PM. It has been raining that day and I already have my $20 tip ready for the poor kid that was working in that rain. However when I called to see how long it was going to be he was very rude and said that's just the way it was yes. He said they were understaffed, which is not unusual for Wal*Mart because such a great place to work at here, but he could've been nicer about it. Nice people just don't work at Walmart. He would have to lower your standards pretty long to work there and you have to be pretty desperate. What the heck most of us are desperate. Why would we pay yo be abused by shopping at Walmart. It seems to me that all of those of us who have been treated so disrespectfully over the years should byite the bullet and stop shopping there. I bought a set of tires from Walmart and they said I would get free lifetime rotations. I called to make a reservation and they stated they don't take reservations for rotations. I went to the store on a Saturday afternoon and was told there was no way they could get it done that day. The manager said come back first thing in the morning on a weekday. I went back the following Friday as soon as they opened. The same manager says mornings are always busy and to come back in the afternoon. Walmart does take reservations for new tire appointments so this tells me they are all about getting your business when they know you're giving them money but once you do pay they won't provide the customer service they promise as a selling point. read more

If you are planning to get your ears pierced at this Walmart this review is for you. DO NOT DO IT. The price was $12.75. Although the service was really great the piercing itself was horrendous. My friend chose her earrings and was pretty excited, the lady began drawing the dots on her ears and kept messing up. My friend decided that she would place the dots herself. The lady quickly used the pierce gun and after 2 minutes she was done. When my friend saw her piercing she was horrified. This is about Walmart's Grocery Pick Up Service. Walmart advertises "this convenient service". You shop on line, pay in full, select a pick up time, and drive to the store to pick up your grocery order. Walmart in Asheville, NC, on Bleachery Road has to have the most terrible service I've ever participated in. Last week I waited 63 minutes to pick up my order. I decided to give them another shot, and so far I've been waiting 59 minutes, and still no order. After you place the order and pay for the order, and sit and sit, you are fully aware of the fact that you could have gone into the store and shopped yourself. I would give this store a negative 1 star if I could. If a company offers a service, there should be enough associates to cover this service. read more

We were visiting Maggie Valley, NC when my friend fell down the stairs of our host's home. During the fall, my friend's glasses were destroyed. On the way to the emergency room, I called an optical shop and after a rude response was told to go back to the place the glasses were purchased in Atlanta. I immediately thought of Walmart where I had a great experience purchasing glasses. So off I went to the nearest Walmart. The gal in the Optical department, Jackie, couldn't have been nicer. She immediately took the lenses from my friend's glasses, found an inexpensive replacement pair, and within minutes, I was back on my way to Mission Hospital. Jackie is an angel on Earth, and I felt so blessed to have her help me when I was stressed to the max. Thank you, Walmart and Jackie! read more

This is the worst Walmart in Asheville. It is worth driving to the Hendersonville Rd, Weaverville, or Airport Rd locations than to deal with the craziness at this store. They are almost always understaffed. That is not an exaggeration. It is simply the truth. The last time I went, I literally waited 40 minutes to check out! I could get past the wait, but the store is a mess. It's rarely stocked well, and what is stocked is usually askew. I'm a real person with a real-sized family living on a real budget.
