First time at this location bc it's close to Chuck E Cheese. The store is in a nicer area bc they have self checkout and it was a smaller store. They didn't have large aisles for food, so there's not a lot of variety compared to the bigger Walmarts. The reason for me making a notable review was bc I had the pleasure of having a really nice woman check me out. She asked me how my day was and if I found everything ok. I told her it was my first time there, and noticed that they didn't have as much variety. But I appreciated that it was close to Chuck E Cheese. She acknowledged that it was a smaller store and hope to make my way back again. I had trouble with my cards bc I didn't realize I was missing my credit card that wasn't expired. I must have switched the right one by accident. So, I was frantic. I had already paid with WIC and still had a little over $10 over and she asked a manager to cover the rest for me?! She was so nonchalant that I had no idea what was happening as I was trying to use other forms of payment that also had expired dates?! It was embarrassing, but they were so nice about it. I had no idea they had a system in place to assist ppl going through what I just went through. I'm forever grateful that she picked me out of the line to assist me. read more

It's reliably fine; never great. This store was a regular store that they "made over" into a SuperWalMart, but they didn't really change a whole lot - as Supercenters go, this has to be the smallest and least "super" I've ever seen. You can generally find someone to help when you need help (eventually) and they clearly try to help once you find one. It's generally pretty well stocked and pretty cleaned up. The layout and occasional shifts in where things are stocked are a bit confusing. The lighting is somehow dingy (one thing that the nearby Target does much better). The parking lot is somewhat sketchy, but not so bad as other area Walmarts. It looks like they have a permanent security guard truck parked out front now (along with a permanent police department robot light/camera trailer in the lot), but I've never seen anyone leaping into action and I strongly suspect this is just for show. The bathrooms are better than some at service stations but not a place you want to visit. While I'm not sure whether they've recently implemented the "no self-checkout due to rampant thievery" that has hit other area Walmarts, this one often had lines at the self-checkouts and only one full-service checkout available. read more

i am disabled, in a wheelchair half the time, and blind in one eye, so i have to order food to be delivered. ordering from this store is a nightmare. they do not carry half the items that they claim to have on hand. the produce is usually rotten, especially anything green and healthy. one day, they got my account mixed up with someone else's and sent me someone else's emails on the same day they charged my account a weird amount they could not explain. i had to contest it with my bank. when you use your insurance benefit card, they don't allow substitutions, so i can't plan my menus. biggest problem is that none of the shoppers or delivery drivers speak, read or write english. all of a sudden, about a year and a half ago, they no longer had english speaking shoppers or drivers, so you can't communicate with them. most of them do not even read their own language either! evidently, they come from villages in south america that do not have any schools that teach them to read their own language. either that, or they dropped out before they learned to read spanish. half of the groceries on the website are not available in the store and they no longer allow us to make substitutions because their shoppers do not speak english and cannot understand anything. where else can i shop that will accept my insurance benefit card? this is the problem. not all stores accept it. i am going to complain to the insurance company. no apples. no bread. no distilled water. no frozen sweet potatoes, no frozen tater tots. but they have the cheese that was supposed to go with the bread! i bet they actually do have it but because the shoppers do not speak, read or write english, they can't find the groceries. it is a nightmare. i hate walmart. read more

Typically we have no issues however, twice now we have had to deal with a manager. With our luck we have had to interact with a manager by the name of Vicky. She's a grumpy, difficult woman who will not do anything outside of make excuses. She is not at all there to help in anyway. Avoid her at all costs. I had two items out of 20+ that were not priced correctly. She proceeded to argue with me even though I said nothing but show her what the price was marked at. I don't work for Walmart I work extremely close with them daily from what I witness the management but one in particular SKY lack professionalism in the way she yells at her employees, she don't manage she harasses , I've witness her follow and HARASS employees and vendors , she follows the vendors or employees she don't like throughout the store stay in the same aisle while they watch them for 30-1 hour before they even do anything wrong , while she see vendors preparing to stock the shelf she go over and take pictures of it incompleted first send to their mangers and complain ‍ her toxic behavior is unacceptable . it's only the manager named SKY (the big girl with grey hair ) Her behavior is very harrassing and toxic u can tell by her bad attitude , body language , let alone when she yells not speaks to ppl lacks professionalism . She yells at vendors where's ur badge u can't be in "MY STORE " without one ! Is her exact response. Instead of simply educating the new vendors who don't know on Walmarts policy (not her store ) and where we can get a badge . she loves to add the her store part lol . Terrible customer service. No one was at the fitting rooms at 845am, I went and asked a male worker in a vest if he could call someone. He said sure, then came halfway back towards me and stated/yelled across the isle that it won't open til 9. I still thanked him, and went off to shop the rest of the store. Came back at 9:10am, thinking it'd be open. Again, it wasn't. Saw a different female worker in a vest and asked her if she could call for someone. She said she would. (Not sure if that happened or not). 9:15, I saw the original guy I spoke with and went to ask him since it was past 9 this time. He got annoyed that I didn't know my sizes already. Which is besides the point. Walmart claims to provide a fitting room, there's no times of operation visible anywhere, and the workers are rude. What a waste. This is a review specifically for Kyle. AN ABSOLUTE SAINT OF AN EMPLOYEE. GIVE THIS KID A RAISE. I was out in the parking lot trying to fit a new TV i had just purchased into my car as a surprise for my girlfriend. I have a pretty small car so it wouldn't fit into my back seats or my trunk without hanging out. Kyle saw me having trouble, stuck his head out his window and asked if i needed help. We took a look and came to the conclusion it definitely wasn't going to fit in my car. He glanced over at his pick up truck and said he'd be willing to just throw it in the back and drive it for me. Kyle was on his 45 min lunch break. I insisted on giving him some money and he insisted right back that it was all good and he really was just bored, wanted something to do and was happy to help. I live 10 min away from this location so he spent half of his lunch break helping me get this thing back to my house. An absolute saint. This guys a rockstar employee and if you're reading this, again seriously appreciate the help. I told my girlfriend the whole story when she got back home and she cried and said she wants to call your mom and tell her how great you are. Haha thank you for the help. read more

Walmart- One of the things we all take for granted. This staff is not overly outgoing or helpful like they appear at my normal Walmart store. Despite the Corona social distancing and the apparent personality distancing, this store looks cleaner and the products seem better cared for, if that's even a thing. Another interesting thing is criminal activity. There are 4 Walmart locations within 5 miles of me and this one always appears "safer". I've seen police activity, panhandling and shoplifting at the other 3 locations, but not here. Not sure why. I'm certain it occurs. But, I've never seen it here. Of note, this location is just 3 miles from the store I usually shop, but the product selection is quite different. The types of foods each store offers must be based upon the store's surrounding neighborhoods, and the styles of clothing based upon the population age. Smart marketing I imagine, but frustrating to have trouble finding what you're accustomed to buying, especially at a big box international chain. Not a complaint, just an observation. Overall, I would argue this is one of the better Walmart locations in Albuqerque. read more

Was in to buy a Fitbit and went to the counter where there were 3 guys standing in front of the lock box and I could see the one I wanted right behind him. He ignored me so I asked him if I could purchase a Fitbit he pointed to the guy at the counter in the photo section and said he only sold phones. I go to this Walmsrt since its the closest one to home. I've been to alot of Walmarts, since I travel alot for work, but this Walmart has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. My purpose that night in going to Walmart was to refund a money order that I made to MDV that wasnt cashed. First off right by the entrance, there already was a long line almost blocking the entrance. There was only one ragged and mean looking staff at the customer service assisting customers. When it was finally my turn, she was curt to me. She probably was tired. In the end, I had to go online. I went to the deli section wanting to buy popcorn shrimp or whatever, but the employee at the counter did not even acknowledge me and the other customer waiting. We stood there for about a couple of minutes and left. Third strike, I needed help looking for a windshield ice scraper. I founf the auto section, but couldnt find it. I saw an elderly male employee who seems to be also looking for something. When he saw me approaching him he quickly turned his back to leave, and started to walk briskly away from me. But he had no choice but to talk to turn around and talk me when I called for his attention "excuse me sir!" I started to politely ask him, and without letting me finish, he curtly cut me off and irritably told me "I dont know. I dont know. Even I couldn't find what Im looking for!" then walked away. I couldnt believe it! I was so tempted to call him back, ask for his name and for the manager, but I just let it go thinking he must be having a rough night or something. And with his age, he would have a hard time getting another job if he is let go. I should be giving this place a one star. As far as Walmarts go, this one isn't bad. The shelves are kept stocked and it's easy to find what you want. As far as I can tell, the location was kept fairly clean as well. My interaction with the employees was pleasant. Even when my friend had to go back to the car to get his wallet, the cashier didn't seem bothered by it at all. In the end, we were able to find everything we came in for and got a few snacks too. This Walmart has a Subway instead of a McDonald's too, which I definitely prefer. If you need to shop for necessities and are in the area, definitely stop by. read more

They don't check returns on electronics, so don't buy them because you'll get screwed on a return if it doesn't work. Better off at Best Buy. Had a few issues that concerned the pandemic...Walmart isn't wiping down the carts anymore nor are they putting wipes so we can wipe them down. Also registers (All) of them are not being cleaned after transactions have taken place. I was checking out of the store this morning -- still learning about the ever changing dynamics of which lines are open, which are accepting specific types of payments and which machines are actually available -- when a large surly female employee looked at me like I was an idiot because I asked if certain machines were open. She then berated an elderly lady who didn't know how to use the check out system. She said "LOOK AT THE SCREEN" and when the poor customer didn't understand what the clerk meant, the rude employee simply yelled the same thing louder at the confused customer. It is ridiculous for a clerk to assume that all customers are fluent in current screen technology and then are rude and condescending when they are asked to help. This is poor training. I realize it is difficult to get good employees these days, but please put this awful woman in a position where she is not interacting with customers. The employees here are special - they go to great lengths to make sure they treat you worse than any other wal-mart in sight. Managers here are aplenty - just look for a cute girl stocking shelves and you will find a manager nearby hitting on them. Perhaps the greatest feather in their cap is that they constantly screw up Walmart.com. It's easy - an order comes in, you fill it. Nope these folks can foul that up like an outhouse in a summer day. This is the first and last time that I'll use their pick up service. After my order a few days ago, I was assigned a 7:00-8:00 pm time slot last night. At 7:00, I receive a message telling me that they're processing my order. At 8:03 pm, I receive a message that my order is ready and to head to the store. The pick up dept number wasn't picking up so I went inside the store and was told by a manager very flippantly that everyone from that dept leaves at 8:00 pm and to come back tomorrow. I went there this morning, half of my order wasn't there as they were out of stock and some items I didn't even order were added. Onions instead of bananas? Also, the employee that brought the items to my car wasn't wearing a mask or gloves. read more

I come to this Walmart just because it's close, I've met one really nice lady in the women's clothing area. Shes an older lady, runs the dressing room. She's the only employee who has ever been nice to me here. So if I have a question I go to this lady no matter what department I'm in, I go straight to the dressing room and find her. All other employees I've encountered here are rude and act like it's an inconvenience for you to ask for help. I'm giving this location 3 stars just because of this older women who seems to be the one only who knows what she's doing. Then you'll tell Asset Prevention and he won't really care. He'll tell you there's nothing he can do and that it's quite common here. If you shop at this walmart, you'll notice the entire parking lot is pitch black and none of the lighting works....you might think this is a major safety concerns...but the manager wont. When you alert them, they will say they already know....and it will take well over 3 months to get fixed...man they are slow If you shop at this walmart, you're likely to see a really mean customer service lady who won't let you return anything. If you don't have the reciept she may offer you a price that is much less than you paid. She might even say they dont carry the item...then you'll have to go hunt the item down in the store just to show her the truth..You'll find it under a sign that shows the price that you paid, You can try to come back when she isn't there but it isn't possible because she's ALWAYS there. So you'll have to take the $2 refund even when you paid $9 because you have no choice.... she runs the world If you shop at this walmart, you're likely to be profiled, targeted, stereo typed, discriminated against, and pretty much defamed when the guy at the door picks and chooses who's receipt he is going to check. Somehow the staff is almost always rude. In a variety of ways - but I am always sorry after I go into this store. The drive-up order pickup is well run, but the checkout area has all the signs of bad managers. There are other Walmarts which are much better. read more

This Walmart sucks! I started to one in another location but by habit I went to this one. I have the scan and go app to at least hurry and go. Anyways, I remembered my daughter needed poster board for a project. I found them at a good price $0.97. So I scanned it and the price was $1.12. Okay I scanned another one to make sure if the price was wrong. Sure enough it didn't change. I grabbed them thinking I wouldn't have a problem at the register when I tell the cashier to charge me the lower price. While shopping I saw an employee and told him about the issue but he "couldn't" help. Now I'm in line to pay for my items. I told the cashier about the price but she basically told me she couldn't help without a barcode or picture. I got out of line walked, to the other side of the store, took pictures and walked back. I didn't see the cashier, so I asked another employee can she help me. She told me she's off the clock with this negative attitude. I went to another line, then another. All are self checkout by the way. I saw the cashier who helped me, she looked at the pictures and scanned the barcode on the tag. It returned the higher price. Either way, the cashier adamantly refused so I left the poster boards at the store, I should've left all my items and walked off but I needed them. Soon after I left, I checked online and saw the same poster board for $0.33. Don't waste your time at this Walmart or any other one, go to Target or Smith's for your sake! read more

The Walmart Super Center's bakery is amazing! I have purchased multiple cakes from them and always get great compliments from party goers. The order is kinda old school, which I appreciate. You ask for help and the bakers will sask you what's the event and desired theme then they help you create the perfect cake. Their marble cake with strawberry filling and whip cream is delicious! They need about 24-48 hours advance to make the cake. Occasionally they don't have the characters but they try to find a comparable substitute. Wow this store is a mess. Bernadette is one of the most nasty ladies i have ever spoke to. Walmart needs to look into the relationship of Bernadette and the store manager. When i tried to tell him about the way i was treated he got mad at me!? He did not show 1 cent of concern and you could tell was just counting down the seconds till i left. What this store could not do i was able to get done without any issues at all 3 Coors store in Albuquerque. So yes these other Walmart's will get my money and the Academy Store will get a BBB complaint. I am sure it will get nowhere cause they have a clown of a boss running that store.
