I recently went into this Walmart to exchange a battery that I purchased three months ago. They would not exchange the battery. the battery was defective and they told me I had to charge the battery. Gave me such a hard time, very rude at customer service. There was a manager and a customer service representative at the customer service desk And both of them should be working in the car wash. They will never see another dollar of my money or anyone from my family or anyone I know. The worst Walmart customer service department I've ever had the experience to deal with. read more

My wife, who is handicaped and cannot stand too long or walk great distanes and I visited the Sturbridge store recently and had 3 problems. My wife uses a carriage for support during these ocassions. First, we saw a delicious looking fruitcake we thought we'd buy but of all the fruitcakes on display, not one had a price on it and no price was shown on the display. I thought I would just go to one of there price checkers they have on poles around the store and none of the ones I used was working so we put the cake back on the shelf and did not buy it. Later we visited the women's slipper section and my wife found a pair she liked. Her legs are such that she can only put footwear on from a sitting position. I cannot do it for her because she would most likely lose her balance and fall. There are no seats of any kind in the footwear section so I asked staff member where she could find one. The only one nearby was in the customer service section which was farther than my wife was willing to walk. Without being asked, the staff member (female) went to the bench, piccked it up and carried it to my wife so she could try the slippers on. She then carried it back to the customer service area. The 3rd problem was in the sweater area. My wife tried on a sweater and wanted to see how it fit but there was not any mirrors on the floor. The only one was in the dressing room causing my wife to walk further than she should before she bought the sweater. I mean, how much can it cost to put a couple of mirrors on the floor in the ladies section. It was a very dissappointing visit. read more

Was told they were not able to issue my refund that day, employee wasn't in the mood to go through the process and tried to pushing it for the next day so someone els could handle it. While having 4 other up front employees horsing around with absolutely nothing to do, this place is a joke for having to come back the next day just to issue a refund ? Store is always nicely cleaned and orderly and is always well stocked. My issue is a worker whom always seems to be at the self checkout, she is consistently rude and not helpful when I've had questions. I hope this will help some one who needs to return a battery with out a receipt. I went to the Sturbridge Walmart 9 am 5/29/23 to return a car battery that I purchased in Rocky hill CT 4/9/20 for $111.41 that had a 3 year warranty but I did not have a receipt. The girl at the desk was very rude she had a puss on her face and ignored me at first as she talked to a coworker. She did not know how to help and rudely said step aside while I take care of the other customers. Another guy came to help, he was nice but still did not know how to do a warranty replacement with out receipt and stated I have to go to Rocky Hill CT. He then called another coworker I showed them a copy of the warranty that I printed, a statement from my credit card showing the purchase. I explained only Walmart sells this brand and the date of manufacture is on the battery which is well with in 3 years and there is also a serial number on the battery as well. and quoted sections of the article. I finally got my battery replaced. On a side note it went up around $60 in 2 1/2 years Don't get me wrong I am okay with Walmart I have purchased many batteries from them and they were fine and I shop there periodically I find its nice that they are close and a lot of times when you need something they have it. I would normally give a 4 star rating when you go there you know what you're getting and usually the price is reasonable. I hope this helps some one. Typically the help desk is friendly and resolves issues easily but this experience was bad enough for me to leave feed back as I think Walmart should get rid of the girl at the help desk as she will chase customers away. Unfortunately, this is our closest Walmart. They stock maybe half of what a normal Walmart would, it's dirty, and they don't seem all too concerned about customer service. The employees that smoke do so directly outside the front doors, so you have to walk right by it to get in. This happens EVERY TIME that I am there. When I complained to the customer service manager (I have two asthmatic children) and asked her to resolve it, she became incredibly nasty and said "well they have to do it somewhere!" The next time I stopped she was among the crew smoking up front. Another major issue I have is that they don't easily price match, which any other Walmart on the planet does. I asked them to price match a pack of baby bottles to Amazon pricing once. I argued with their manager for probably 10 minutes and the conversation ended with them matching the price, but "this time only" because their store policy is not to price match due to the size of the store. I'm sorry, but that's bull crap. I will always shop at Target over Walmart, but sometimes it's not a possibility. This Walmart in particular is exceptionally terrible. I wish Sturbridge would level it and build a Target. read more

Went to the Sturbridge Ma Walmart on a Wednesday night with my wife and 1 year old. Went to check out our cart full of items noticing not one register was open. We go over to self checkout where three workers one being the Manager are standing there doing nothing. I asked them if they could open a register to help us seeing we had a full cart and we're holding a baby, but was told No, there are no registers open. The Manager then walked away and the other two stood there talking. Watching us do the self checkout. I wish we could have left our full cart right there and went to another store. These people are disgraceful and rude. This Walmart is the worst and has awful customer service, lagging on cleanliness and poor selection of products. The Manager in the evening at the Sturbridge Ma Walmart is unfriendly and unprofessional and despite this Walmart convenient location we will go to a different Walmart from now on. read more

I think it's almost funny to rate Walmart. In general I think that their philosophy STINKS and that they are a selfish, greedy corporation that treats their employees like dirt. That being said, they fill a gap in the Sturbridge are, and I'm forced to go there because they're the only ones who have what I need less than 30 miles away. What a great place to pickup most anything. Laughing man coffee by Hugh Jackman makes you laugh just smelling the aroma. Drinking it is heaven ly Christmas lights tress . I got pink humming bird. I Love pink. & Bella soft furry light because you can never get enough of a lit up fav dog. Never mind the Vietnamese nail place . I got sparkly pink gel nails . Made my day. I'm tinlglu g all over. A Review of Wal-Mart in Sturbridge, MA. By Dimitri D. Let me put this in the simplest terms I can think of. THIS STORE SUCKS! Do not waste your time coming here! I have not been to too many other Wal-Marts so I can't bitch about the whole chain but this one is dead-awful! Every week they move their aisles, their layout, and everything else. It makes it almost impossible to find anything on the rare occasions I do go there. Everything looks as though it was carelessly chucked on the shelves no matter whether it matches their organizational system or not. Another negative: They are always out of freaking stock on everything! Also they're merchandise is extraordinarily cheap and doesn't last more than a maximum of 3 months! Most of the employees are rude, inattentive to their customers, and clinically depressed and uninterested in our concerns. Every time I enter that freaking store the only thing I want to buy is a powerful handgun so I can blow my brains out. That is how much I hate this market store thing! Trinia and Patricia in the jewelry department spent a lot of time with me helping me to understand how to install the new band. Three times in 2 weeks I went there and no redgisters open just self check out, I asked a worker standing at the podium why aren't they registers open he said no idea, I said well i'm not getting paid to ring my self out , one of the times I was there an elderly man said I cant do this myself I said I will help you he said no it's not your job I said I know but I don't mind, he was a Navy Veteran and so am I , he said I really need this stuff but refuse to use this self check out left his cart, a lady with 2 very young children had a cart full of groceries like 250.00 worth asked the desk to help her 2 people at the desk no they had no staff they said so she had to do it herself, this is BULLCRAP!!!! , This store needs to shut down if they can't keep up , I counted 18 people stocking shelves and 2 people at the service desk you mean to tell me not one of them know how to use a register oh plus the person at the podium doing absolutely nothing!!! DO NOT SHOP IN STURBRIDGE SAVE TONS OF MONEY FOR YOUR FAMILY DRIVE TO OXFORD!!!! Okay I am writing this review to let you all know something I discovered the other day.. if you have more than one walmart in your area shop at the one in the poorer area. I live in Southbridge so there is a walmart in Sturbridge ma and one in oxford Ma and the prices at both are different for the same Items. I realized this because we were going on a camping trip and I need a tent and sleepin bags for 6 people. the sturbridge walmart only had 4 of the 6 sleeping bags I needed so I bought them and the tent I wanted and headed to Oxford walmart to get the other 2 sleeping bags. when I got there I notice the tent I bought was $10 less in Oxford and the Sleeping bags were $3 less when I approached service desk and asked why they answered , " The prices are different at every walmart depending on the average income of the area and the economic level. I was shocked. I went out to car and got receipt and Items I bought in sturbridge and returned them. then proceeded to go to sporting goods and rebuy them all saving myself and my family $28. so basically what I am trying to tell you is it is worth the drive to the less economically sound areas walmart lol itis worth the drive up route 20 to save the money!! read more

I went to Sturbridge Walmart August 15th 2016 year I used to work at that store overnight 5 years ago anyway I went there to pick up a few items went to the register paid for my items and drove home 20 minutes away got home and realize that I was missing 3 items had my receipt throwback to Sturbridge Walmart talk to the cashier Ray register to did I leave a bag here because I don't have he looked around and it was nothing there he said maybe another customer picked it up and I say that because they have those stupid Carousel bags and if you're not really paying attention you don't grab all your bags I think it should be up to the cashier to handle all your bags well anyway went back to the store I went to the service desk then explain my situation to the woman that was there and she told me go get the items that you're missing and bring them up here and I did that and she marked it on the receipt put it in the bag and that was it I received my items that I was missing! read more
