Hooray for this Walmart. They tolerate overnight parking and after getting to the Raine rest area on the 99 to find it closed, I was not in a good mood. This Walmart is not a Supercenter, likely because it shares the shopping center with a grocery store. They still have soft lines and toys and electronics and a Tire & Lube but very limited food and groceries. The restroom was clean and I checked out the limited selection of RV stuff. I parked the Sprinter van in the area between the Walmart and the grocery store with two or three other motorhomes. It was mostly quiet until the stores closed, then it was completely quiet. If I could give this place negative stars I would. The employees never help you when you need to find something. They will just point to where the item is at. Another thing is, the bathrooms are disgusting at all times. Some times I go in there and clean for free because I can't stand the smell when I go in there and no one else will do it. For anyone considering getting Walmart grocery delivery in Porterville California I am posting this as a warning. Yesterday I got an offer for free delivery trial for 30 days from Walmart. I don't shop there l but do know they have low prices on some things so yesterday I placed my first order and everything seemed to go smoothly until I got my groceries in the house and realized that a few items were missing. My receipt showed that I paid for them so I requested a refund. No big deal really except two of the items that were missing were part of my dinner that night so I ended up not having dinner. So today I'm thinking about dinner again and thought I would try again. I placed another order and included the two missing items from yesterday's trip. On my delivery instructions I wrote: "Door gate will be unlocked please leave items on doorstep and ring doorbell no need to wait for me to answer the door thank you" This afternoon I get a text from Walmart saying they are sorry my order is delayed and they will let me know when my items are on the way. At 5:18 I get another text from Walmart telling me that my groceries have been delivered at 4:47 I work from home and was sitting in my living room the entire time no one rang the doorbell or knocked on the door so I went out and found all of my items on the sidewalk outside of the door gate IN THE 100° WEATHER. I had a jug of tea that was warm and three frozen items that were completely melted including one of the items I had wanted for my dinner. They had obviously been sitting out there for quite a while. Yes yes yesI am so aggravated at this crap! If someone is going to be a delivery person please do your job correctly and read your delivery or order instructions not only have you wasted your time you have wasted my time, the stores time, the food that is ruined, and I still have to go to the store to get what I need. So this was the second order in two days from Walmart and both deliveries were a shit show! I am absolutely canceling the service and will not recommend this to anyone! So sad that people can't do their jobs. Honestly. Never coming to this place. Went to buy some new clothes for a family member that's new to the state and got stopped being accused of stealing all the clothes. I showed my receipt but instead of letting it go they proceeded to say products of the same brand are charged different because of the color. I was so dumbfounded how stupid they said they basically charge mode the color of the product. They refunded my entire purchase and made me buy it again in front of them to feed their ego. The customer service at this location is abysmal. In the back in the xmas section, some staffer was hovering around the registers, basically doing nothing. I asked if he was open to check us out, and he looked up, said "no" and went back to wiping down the register that no one was using. Not even an "I'm sorry, but right now this register isn't open but they'd be happy to help you up front," or "We'll be reopening this station in xxxx minutes." Just "no" and that was it. So we went up to the front. I had a gift card sent to me via email, and the barcode and instructions were on my phone. Our cashier could not figure out how to scan a gift card barcard on a phone, so she had to go talk to three different other people, none of whom could figure it out despite the actual instructions on the email i showed. She said "oh, the person who knows how to do this isn't here, but just wait." Are you kidding me? Also? The person behind me in line crowded right up against me, breathing down my neck. She was literally one foot away from me as I stood in front of the register. I asked her politely to move back, pointing out the blue square where she should be standing. She refused and started arguing, even after I said "I want us all to be healthy. You should be standing six feet away." The cashier watched this happen and said nothing, because apparently she doesn't care about enforcing WalMart's "guidelines." Apparently, WalMart doesn't care one bit about Covid prevention or training their staff how to handle simple things like gift cards. Never returning in person. Shortly after going inside and walking down the aisles looking for a toilet seat for my parents' house, an employee came up and asked if I needed help. I asked him for toilet seats, and with a smilie and genuine concern he offered to walk me over and show me where it was. At check out up front, he happened to be going on break and buying a snack behind me. My mother lost her keys in Walmart and she went around asking associates and.they were so rude to her. Then she was told by one associate to go to returns. She did and lady at returns was rude as hell and didn't bother to look if anything was returned just looked at her rude said "no"! This is why I never shop at Walmart. Rude as hell!! Today was a good experience " got in and out in 15 minutes", they had 2 cashiers working in Garden area - score for me! 4 stars for being a good day. :) Sidenote: Sometimes there is a line 10 people long with 1 cashier and a greeter (In Garden area checkout). Store is clean, for the most part. Usually have plenty of stock when I am looking for something. Employees semi helpful. You may find a "Diamond in the ruff" and get excellent customer service here. Vendors are working daily to get goods to this store and I feel safe coming here. The employee Liz that was working in the electronics area helping with the photos was extremely rude. my photo was supposed to be ready at 2:30 wasn't able to make it in time, so I went at 7 and she was throwing other photos everywhere making a big mess talking under her breath, did not let us know there was an issue with the print out made us wait until Julio got there ( he was great) she then told us it would be 5 minutes so we took a 10 minute walk when we got there we waited another 20 minutes and she then left. When I went to ask her about my photo she said to ask someone else. As she proceeded to count out her register not looking up to even apologize about the wait. Every time I come to this store I swear I will not return and yes, it happened again tonight. Needed an electronic, the department was filled with over 5 people, none of which had a clue about the product. The supervisor was talking on a personal call on her cellphone and just kept handing out her keys to people. I left, didn't purchase and went to Dollar General. This was the worst Walmart I've ever been to. So many people without mask, no sanitizer provided. Distance of 6ft was not followed, the lines to pay at the register was not coordinated right/ very disorganized. They had a bunch of customers bunched up together like sardines. My anxiety was of the roof. I felt even worse when an older gentleman probably in his 80s was in the line waiting with me and turns around and says "no respect from anyone, why aren't they wearing a mask". I saw the poor guy shaking, nervous, anxious. He probably dont have another person to pick up his groceries. This is not the employees at Walmart fault, they are underpaid and cant be taking the role of security. If a person dont have a mask, they shouldn't be allowed in store period. One suggestion, possible a lane for elderly people separated from those who dont care about their health and others. This is ridiculous. read more
