When I asked how long the appointment would be she said they schedule 15 minutes for each issue. I could schedule several appointments to cover the issues I have. So, each issue (fifteen min appt) would be billing Medicare and my private insurance. Receptionist asked me if I wanted to schedule more appointments to cover my issues. I decided I need to find another doctor and clinic where my needs can be met with one appointment. I am really disappointed as I have been a patient with Corvallis Family Medicine for several years.

The receptionist said your appt is for our 3rd street location and they have a 5 minute late gap to accept patient. I arrived 6 minutes late. I noticed there signage says VISION CENTER. I never would have guessed it is the same business as the other location. When I arrived, the receptionist asked do you have your paperwork? No, I never received any. She said sInce theres no paperwork then we'll need to reschedule. At that point I left stating I'd find some other doctor in Corvallis to have an exam with. This is extremely poor practice and they lost a customer who would have purchased "several" pair of glasses from them at this appt, not just one. Also, they need to actually SEND paperwork or let people know it's required so they can pick it up in advance. If you use them be certain you can only be 5 minutes late after rushing over from the other location which is actually called Eyecare Associates. Poor practice!

Online appointment scheduling is convenient, and works especially well if you're already connected with Samaritan through MyChart. Their front desk staff are polite and helpful, and the providers have gotten us taken care of. The last time we took my very anxious daughter in here for a flu shot, the provider was super understanding and respectful of her, and helped her through it really compassionately.

Donna had not been feeling well but kept putting off seeing a doctor, but on March 7, I drove her to Urgent Care because of her high heart rate - the medical term called Tachycardia - and a painful rash that had developed overnight. At reception, we were told it would be a three-hour wait, but on hearing Donna's heart rate was over 100 beats a minute, the receptionist called in a Physician's Assistant, who immediately took us in to an exam room. The PA was professional and knowledgeable. As she did the routine checks, she answered all our questions and put us both at ease. Dr. Charlotte Gardner came in to talk to Donna and examine her. Dr. Gardner quickly determined that Donna was suffering from shingles, and said if we had waited one more day to come in, it would have been too late for antivirals to have any effect. The antivirals cannot cure shingles but do help to lessen the severity of symptoms. Donna was told to stay home for 7 to 10 days and continue with the prescribed medication. Thank goodness for the skilled care and attention we received at Samaritan Urgent Care in Corvallis.

They aren't quite as hands-on as I would like, because they are very exercised based, but overall their approach works, so what more can a patient ask for? The reception, aides, trainers, and therapists are all approachable, personable, and professional. I've only been to one other PT business, and I don't see myself switching from using PT northwest as my place to recover from injuries anytime in the future.
