I told the eye doctor that while the options he flipped to, looked the best out of the choices, the right eye didn't look right. He held lenses over my glasses, that was supposed to be equivalent and it looked ok, so I went with it. I then looked at buying glasses there, but their prices, even with insurance, were about $150 more than other places, so I decided to buy them from my husband's eye doctor. The glasses came back and the vision wasn't right in the right eye so they made them again. It still wasn't right so they asked me to have my doctor recheck the prescription for my right eye. I made an appointment and came in, but was told that they couldn't recheck my eye prescription without having the glasses and that it would cost $95 to have it done. I asked, even if it's discovered that the prescription was wrong, I'd have to pay? And they said yes. So I said I wouldn't be returning and if I have to pay, I will pay a different place to do it. I can't believe they won't check if they made a mistake.

They charged me full price, over $230 for the office visit. The Dr told me to use refresh eye drops more often, it was probably dry eyes, he was struggling too. I will need the other eye done and will go elsewhere. I was going to switch my vision care to this office but will stick with Costco. The office staff is great, the Dr is nice, but "good enough" does'nt cut it when it comes to corrected vision.

First, the technician who assisted my grandmother was incredibly rude and impatient with her because she has difficulty hearing. Instead of showing compassion, patience, and understanding toward an elderly patient, she made the experience uncomfortable and upsetting. Having difficulty hearing is not something my grandmother can control, and she deserved to be treated with dignity and respect. On top of that, we had a scheduled appointment and still waited over an hour to be seen. We understand that medical offices can run behind, but waiting that long for an appointment raises the question of whether our time is considered as valuable as theirs. If patients are expected to arrive on time for their appointments, the office should make every effort to respect that same commitment. Overall, the combination of the excessive wait and the way my grandmother was treated left a very poor impression. Elderly patients deserve patience, kindness, and respect especially when they have difficulty hearing. I hope the office takes this feedback seriously and addresses how patients are treated and how appointment times are managed.

He went to the wrong Albany facility, so arrived at 10:10 AM for his 10 AM appointment. They turned him away, stating he should have arrived at 930 AM. When I called to inquire as to the discrepancy of early arrival instruction as he would've had a larger cushion of time to have made it to the correct facility, the receptionist said that it's here nor there because he was late, and that they have a seven minute policy so he was there for three minutes outside of the policy, and they are now booking out to May. Although evening appointments are listed they call and cancel them daily as they do not actually have a provider for the evenings. I was told they do not know why those times are listed. 2. I have seen two of their doctor's and neither rx was correct. The first I saw was no longer with the practice and it was indicated that many of the doc's scripts were incorrect. But no refund on the new script. 3. I was not walked through or educated on the frames. Did you know a small number on the frame, sizes all mixed in, indicate size of frames? I did not. I am disappointed but hip deep in the mess of getting these frames and glasses and must continue to work with them. The staff is nice.

I decided to go with some contacts this year, so they helped me figure out what I needed to pay out of pocket and what would be the most cost effective. The Dr. himself called 3 days after our appointment and asked how contacts were going since he gave me some to start off with and see if they were comfortable and worked. I've never had an optometrist call me and see how everything was going with my glasses or contacts. I'm glad we found Visionworks through our insurance and we will be back next year.
