I told the eye doctor that while the options he flipped to, looked the best out of the choices, the right eye didn't look right. He held lenses over my glasses, that was supposed to be equivalent and it looked ok, so I went with it. I then looked at buying glasses there, but their prices, even with insurance, were about $150 more than other places, so I decided to buy them from my husband's eye doctor. The glasses came back and the vision wasn't right in the right eye so they made them again. It still wasn't right so they asked me to have my doctor recheck the prescription for my right eye. I made an appointment and came in, but was told that they couldn't recheck my eye prescription without having the glasses and that it would cost $95 to have it done. I asked, even if it's discovered that the prescription was wrong, I'd have to pay? And they said yes. So I said I wouldn't be returning and if I have to pay, I will pay a different place to do it. I can't believe they won't check if they made a mistake.

They charged me full price, over $230 for the office visit. The Dr told me to use refresh eye drops more often, it was probably dry eyes, he was struggling too. I have and do use eyedrops through out the day, for years. It has been 1 year and my vision in the corrected eye, new lenses in my glasses too, is aweful. I will need the other eye done and will go elsewhere. I was going to switch my vision care to this office but will stick with Costco. The office staff is great, the Dr is nice, but "good enough" does'nt cut it when it comes to corrected vision.

Once in the exam room I waited an hour before I finally called the front desk and asked them what was going on, that I had had been in the exam room for an hour. They said they would let someone know. About 10 minutes later a tech came and said that I was next, that it shouldn't be too long. Thirty minutes later the doctor came in. I waited a total of an hour and a half! On top of that the doctor didn't have the professional courtesy to apologize. She just began working on my eye, she also tweaked my eye while examining it, which was extremely painful. She then blew it off explaining to the tech that I was experiencing a little problem, that I was feeling uncomfortable. I have never experienced such treatment by an eye care professional. There are some positives though: before this visit I did see a Dr. Bagga, who was great, the optician named Rhonda was fabulous and the clinics lab did do a super job on my prescription, and finally the front desk staff were very polite and courteous.

Bummer they never even sent me a reminder. That that is not their problem, but when talk to the front counter lady she did not care, I asked about appt times and she said 8-3 but sometimes they do a 4pm but made it clear I was not on the special customer list for 4pm appts. I told her I guess I will have to try another eye doc and she said that was fine and have a good day. I will not be going back here this year after having a good experience last year. Man I even left a great yelp review. I guess they don't need anymore customers and the front counter staff must run the show. If I was an eye doc here I would be really upset that my staff was so happily willing to let me customers leave. Well on word and upward! Came to get my eyes checked. He went to the wrong Albany facility, so arrived at 10:10 AM for his 10 AM appointment. They turned him away, stating he should have arrived at 930 AM. When I called to inquire as to the discrepancy of early arrival instruction as he would've had a larger cushion of time to have made it to the correct facility, the receptionist said that it's here nor there because he was late, and that they have a seven minute policy so he was there for three minutes outside of the policy, and they are now booking out to May. My daughter normally struggles this was such an easy appointment today. She is obsessed with color contacts and had questions. He was supportive and willing to listen and explain to her about them. I highly recommend him for children especially with special needs. I have struggled to find someone who adapts so well for my daughter. This guy is deserves an award.

He ended up getting an eye exam, a pair of regular glasses and a pair of prescription sun glasses. I felt that the price was fair. Scheduling: The optometrist is not in every day. It was difficult to coordinate schedules to be able to come in at a day and time when she was in. A slight inconvenience. Customer Service: It's hit or miss. Some of the employees are jovial, friendly and very helpful. Some are off-putting and sales-y and others will ignore you while staring at their computer screen. On more than one occasion we have had to wait for a second person to come out from the back of the store to greet us because the woman in the front staring at her computer couldn't be bothered to notice us. But we never waited more than 20 seconds to be helped. It's truly a mixed bag of employees and attitudes here but no one was outright rude to us. Selection: Their selection of frames is large. If you can't find a pair of glasses that you like here, you are too damn picky. There is literally something for everyone here. Optometrist: We didn't have to wait very long after our appointment time to be seen. There was someone who did a preliminary test. She was a little unprofessional and seemed like maybe she wasn't entirely sure what she was doing. It didn't really bother me at the time though. She was friendly and joked around with us. The actual optometrist was professional and very nice. Retrieving our glasses: Someone called to let us know they were in. Everything went smooth while retrieving the glasses. However, after a few days my husband noticed that the prescription wasn't quite right. One eye was definitely blurrier than the other. They did say there would be an adjustment period. He waited a couple of weeks and the problem was still there. They handled the replacement of the glasses well. However, we live in Corvallis and it was annoying to have to drive to the store three additional times. Once to have the glasses examined to make sure the glasses matched the prescription. Once it was determined that they were correct, we had to wait and come in on another day to see the optometrist in order to redo his eye exam because she wasn't in that day. And then once more to retrieve the glasses after getting them fixed. In the end the problem was just that the first exam wasn't thorough or done well enough to render an accurate prescription. But they were nice about it all and replaced the lenses for free.

They had all the correct info and kept insisting my phone number isn't correct. I was able to receive prior calls and notifications. I am unbelievable pissed off because I had to take time from my busy work schedule to show up and be told to schedule again. I don't appreciate being lied to and I don't appreciate the unprofessionalism all of the staff here displays. I am never coming back to this shitty location. Then she didn't want us to loose our credit for our kids part of the insurance so she offered for them to get sunglasses and we decided to do Blue light for our youngest because she really liked a pair of frames. I decided to go with some contacts this year, so they helped me figure out what I needed to pay out of pocket and what would be the most cost effective. The Dr. himself called 3 days after our appointment and asked how contacts were going since he gave me some to start off with and see if they were comfortable and worked. I've never had an optometrist call me and see how everything was going with my glasses or contacts. I'm glad we found Visionworks through our insurance and we will be back next year.
