In comparison to all the other walmarts I've visited for shopping (ranging from toronto to scarborough to pickering to trenton... and the list goes on) this walmart is the ONLY one who actually follows company policies about 9.5 times out of 10. The people I've met who work there genuinely care about the customers. Unless you come up swearing bloody blue murder and insulting us, (then we might be a bit less inclined to go out of our way for you) we generally try to do our best for you. The only thing I dislike about this walmart is (even though we have over 300 people working for us in this particular store) we never seem to have enough staff in the less popular departments. I waited for ten minutes before giving up waiting for someone to come mix me some paint and that's AFTER paging them. Now, don't get me wrong, there are good and bad employees in every store but there are a huge number of good ones working at this location.

This Giant Tiger has plenty of parking spots. It is in a plaza. I am envious that Peterborough has a Giant Tiger. Markham lost its lone store eons ago. This store is fantastic! This store is a gem. I have never seen small, paired, regular, and gigantic Squishmallows all under one roof in my life. I was in Squishmallows heaven! Prices were decent. This store also has a large variety of Tim Hortons items. I didn't realize that you can get Timmy's soups these days. It also has Timmy's-branded coffee and hot chocolate. Walking around this store made me want to pick up knitting and crocheting. There were deals on yarn, from bundled to large skeins. I needed hand soap. I got two bottles of foaming hand washes. I'm still curious about how fresh snow smells as a scent. My favourite bagged cereal is at Giant Tiger. I like the honey cinnamon the best, but will eat all varieties. The grocery section is amazing. It has items that I haven't seen at Giant Tiger stores that I often frequent. The CRAVE line of lasagna, and mac and cheese all looked delicious! I like the prices at Giant Tiger. You can save a bit and not sacrifice on quality. I had a nice woman cash me out. She gave me a bag for free. I am so used to putting stuff in my own bag and waving off the bag fee. I love this store. Primitive Designs is located just 1 hour from Toronto. They aren't far from the 401, which makes it the perfect location to visit. Here you will find something for everyone!!! There is no charge to see the sculptures and tour the grounds, however donations are accepted. You can take photos at each of the sculptures, just be respectful. They are also pet friendly, which is an added bonus. Inside the establishment there is a wide variety of wood carved items, handmade steel items and so many knicknacks. Everything we found was reasonably priced. They even had giant shark sculptures hanging from ceiling. I almost purchased a six footer. We found a couple tiki masks, a miniature shark and and a cool wooden skeleton sword for our man cave. We both took photos with Bumble Bee from transformers and an Epic Shark that had been made from scrap metal. We both thoroughly enjoyed our visit and we will be back again soon!!

My AC broke down last year, and a friend told me that Canadian Tire sells cans of refrigerants…read more Since my fan was still blowing, I decided to try it. It lasted about a day. This year, I took it in to get it fixed properly - except NO ONE WILL TOUCH MY CAR NOW. Apparently this stuff is SO NOXIOUS that it requires an entirely different process to flush out this chemical. I took it back to Canadian Tire, and they'll do it, but it's going to cost around a thousand dollars. I personally think they should flush it out for free, but that's not the response I got in the shop. They just shrugged and said "oh well". Please share this widely for anyone who needs to know. These giant companies feed off folks who don't have a lot of money and have to try and do things themselves. Then charge exorbitant prices to fix what their shitty product caused.

However, Canadian Tire on Lansdowne in Peterborough, ON was able to order the tires I needed, with next day delivery, and in less than 24 hours, the tires were ordered and placed on my car. I dealt with a gentleman by the name of George in Canadian Tire's automotive department and he provided great customer service. He was patient, professional and answered all of my questions (both over the phone [a few times], and in person!). Perhaps, what they are most known for is their bakery selling fresh apple pies, apple bread, cider, fritters and variety of seasonal baked goods. There is also an open-kitchen display window so you can watch how they bake their products. We decided to eat at the smoke house restaurant. A full rack of ribs, fries and a blooming onion costed $55. The ribs were flavorful and tender but I thought fries and onion were just very average and overpriced. I would skip those next time. Since I was watching my sugar intake, I skipped out on the more popular items and opted for a few scones and muffins for the drive back home. The scones were so rich, buttery and very crumbly on the outside with a dense interior. It was so savory and delicious. The muffins were very good as well and to my surprise wasn't too sweet. This was such a charming little town. I would definitely come back again next time I drive eastward. I think their bakery items are really good and were very reasonable in price. I wouldn't recommend the apple fritter or the apple & strawberry fritter - mine was a bit too much dough, dense and a tad dry and mot to my preference. The store also has some souvenirs to purchase as well as a few hot foot options too if you're passing by and want a touristy type of feel which I quite enjoy. There's also a lot of tour busses that stop here which makes sense as it's a nice quick stop right off the highway.
