What happened at this Walmart? The grocery/food isle was super short. We needed groceries and we're able to walk all the isles in under 5 monitors looking for produce. It turns out, there isn't any. No produce, breads, meats, cheeses, etc. there is a Safeway a crossed the parking lot. If the idea was to NOT be in competition with Safeway, this Walmart nailed it. Very tall ceilings, navigable aisles, and tall shelving make for sharpening detective/finding skills when looking for a particular item at this Walmart in Oak Harbor. My Grandma and I like to visit both when we are looking for something specific and when we are just in the mood to look around and see what they have. Offerings are numerous and varied. Employees are helpful and positively engage with the customers. Parking can be packed later in the day even though the lot is large. read more

The return policy is horrible. I got a gift of a fit bit two weeks ago and had a gift receipt. I tried to return but they refused because it was 41 days since the purchase and apparently you ONLY have 30 days to return. I tried to make it work and it didn't but Walmart refuse to help me in anyway. Terrible customer service 0 stars . Since when was it acceptable for a "customer service employee" (as in meaning of the job) To blow you off, after paying for a service, having them prattle on about how someone didn't show for work, but "I'm the manager and had to be called in to cover said shift so, I'm not doing anymore than I have to" I placed a delivery order yesterday, 5/31/23 to be delivered today 6/1. Between 11-12 When I received the text that it had been delivered, I looked at the photo. Not My Porch. I think its Down the block? I promptly called customer service they transferred me to the delivery area. I got voicemail. I left a message pointing to order#, name and cell#. No one called me. I called them 4 times. By 4pm I was livid. I called corporate and they would have made sure I got my order today but, by that time (almost 5 hours later) my payment had already been processed. A refund and reorder was the only option. Now they have double the money for the next 7-10 business days and I wait Again! With crossed fingers maybe my order will show. After my call to corp. I tried the delivery dept. Again. No answer. I called the customer service desk, they again transferred me. You get the picture right? But,,, someone actually answered, I asked for the manager. This person said im the mgr. I told of my issue. I got a heavy sigh and heard someone didn't show up, so I got called in to cover. I realize days off are important but, what did this info have to do with my misdelivered groceries? And my subsequent recorder delivery? When a customer has been shuffled around from one "please hold" after another they are deservedly annoyed. I am not a *Karen, and if you want to say so? I can call you mother* because you made me that way! Understand this, without the customer? You wouldn't have a job. Literally the slowest group of humans I've ever seen 'work'. I brought 2 tires/wheels in to have new tires put on. Simple job. Remove old tires, install new tires. Air them up. No balancing of the tires. No removal/installation from the vehicle. As a tire installer, the EASIEST job outside of just airing up a tire. A competent technician? 10 minutes per tire. A slower than average, but well meaning tech? 15 minutes per tire. These overpaid/underperforming 47 chromosome having dimwits? 45 minutes per tire. FORTY FIVE PER TIRE. now, it wouldn't have been so bad if this dude was just slow moving, but nope. I watched him spend 5 out of every 10 minutes on his phone. What was he doing? Customer service is non existent at this not-so-super center. I feel boarder-line harassed every single time I have to shop at this establishment. Even after having to endure being creepily stalked by associates throughout my whole shopping trip, 9 times out of 10 the products I originally planned to purchase aren't even in stock. Complaints have been personally delivered to the management teams; however, they seem to be just as bad if not worse than the cashiers and other floor workers. The auto center is WACK We went to drop off the car today at noon and were told it'd take 4 hours because only one guy was working. While the are some great employees for example, Tammy; the super sweet older woman in apparal; and the two workers that work in the parking lot with the carts, there are others who are the polar opposite. Store Manager, Lila Allen is such. She is condescending and lacks good people relations. Once, I was trying to decide between two Ipods she was helping me with. When I asked which one she would get it were her, she said "My opinion is irrelevant." Ice-cold she is. Today I spoke with her, interested in getting a price for a specific smart phone for one of my teens -- hopefully a Black Friday deal. She was so disrespectful careless with my business as a customer, she even called me sweetie -- in a very not sweet way. Needles to say, we purchased our teen's smartphone elsewhere. Waited over 2 hours for their auto center employees to change 4 tires on the car in front of me, (who pulled in around me while I was inside paying for my tires.) I believe this is where dreams go to die and where wifi routers can be purchased on the 4th of July. We needed a wifi router on the 4th---WalMart was the only retailer in town that was open---and on our walk through the place to the router section, there was a palpable sadness; no one here was having a good day. The place would stay open 'til 10 pm...no rest, or fireworks for the weary. Every staffer we talked to (3, total) were sad, not grumpy, but just sad. As far as I'm concerned, two stars is the best any Wlamart can do in my eyes. As an organic farmer, I detest all that the corporation stands for. While I do admit that I make the occasional purchase of something I need at random at 11 PM on Whidbey Island when absolutely necessary (It's not my fault it's the only thing within an hour drive that carries toilet paper and drill bits), but 98% of my check-ins at this store are because I donate blood here (this store is where the Puget Sound Blood Center sets up on the first Saturday of every month). I've never had any major issue with an employee, but it's difficult to find one at times. read more

I have a little cabin in Greenbank, WA, so I visit this WalMart fairly infrequently (it's about 30 minutes away from our place). But, when I do, I feel like I've entered the twilight zone. Granted, I don't often shop at WalMarts, but for some reason, I feel like I'm on acid [not that I would know what that was like] as soon as I walk through the doors there. The Good: *The people who work there are a lot nicer than any other WalMart I've been in. *They have a large selection of everything I've never wanted, yet end up buying any way. (One-stop shopping!) *Seems fairly clean to me, but I've heard reports from friends that they don't feel the same. *Good prices (duh). The Bad: *Time loses all meaning here. What you meant to take you 10 minutes takes about an hour, plan accordingly. *The shoppers are very, very, interesting... I followed a man in who was pushing a shopping cart, and he just shoved it and let it fly towards the greeter and continued his way further into the store. This is our local Walmart that we visit very often. They recently renovated the store which have made it much nicer and a lot more organized. Many upgrades have been made which has made the store much easier to navigate and shop at. Nearly every employee we have encountered here has been amazing! Especially the gentleman named Bert. He's an absolute joy to be around and has helped us countless times and is always so happy. We enjoy this Walmart, I hope one day they upgrade the food area. There isn't much option for grocery shopping at this store. You're very limited to options as there's only 3 or 4 actual food isles. Sucks especially since this is the only Walmart on the whole island. Great Walmart that I feel has great opportunity to expand into a Walmart superstore hopefully. read more

Poor customer service. I was there to purchase a rifle. Last one on the shelf i even left work early to make the purchase. They did not have the proper personnel to complete the purchase. I kindly asked when they would be in. She said the following morning after 9am. I stated i could not make it there till noon and since i am here to make the purchase now why can you not hold them till i can come in.. i am a customer attempting to purchase a product form a store that is open on my time and that is the least you can do to accomidate me and if i am not there by noon you can feel free to release them. So i talked to the manager who said we can not hold it for you and said im sorry. I even asked how that is fair to me the customer she said it was my fault i cant be there early enough and she would not attempt to accomidate me and she understood it was not fair.. Mangement cant even accommodate a customer. Sad sad sad. Dont expect any type of customer accommodation from this store when they cant even remain staffed enough to run a store that is open to sale goods to a customer and wont accomidate the customer when he is moving his schedule to meet the stores convenience not the customers. read more

The staff were very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, the store itself looks very run-down. So today I went to Walmart to put my baby girls Xmas toys on layaway. This is where I felt I needed to Yelp..... I walked in back to customer service, and there was a VERY patient lady waiting at the desk. With nobody to help her. I took my place behind her. And we both waited. As we stood for about five or seven minutes with employees walking by us in and out of the back, I finally stopped a girl, who seemed to want nothing to do with me talking to her, and asked her to find someone to help us. She said: Ya, okay. So we waited some more, and another lady appeared behind me. As we waited longer, I ended up walking my happy ass all the way across the store to the front where a girl finally put on loud speaker for someone to help us. By the way when I was going to the front, I passed the beeotch who obviously never got anyone to help us. Finally after waiting all that time, and losing my place in line. The MANAGER of the store came to help all of us. It was a load of crap. He was nice, I should've said something to him, but he did come help us....anyways, ya that wasn't cool, and hope that Walmart and all of its hundreds of employees some most lazy, get it under control. I shop here every week. So I claim the right to complain once in a while :-) read more

Horrible customer service. Called to ask about 1 item, just seeing if it was available at this location. I was transferred to electronics, where the phone rang for 2 minutes, then put on hold for 12 minutes. I called back and put on hold again for 4 minutes before the manager or whoever answers. He then put me on hold to get a hold of someone who knew what I was talking about. Then came back on the phone a few minutes later saying they didn't carry the item, I went to the store today, and later and saw it there but I had already purchased elsewhere. Came in last night around 11pm to purchase a bed set for my spare bedroom. Of course the store was pretty empty besides the workers who were stocking the isles. I grabbed what I needed pretty quickly and headed to the front to check out. As I was walking to the register I hear "-name- to the front please" I turn around and the entire crew is watching me check out. There's even a guy (I'm assuming a manager) standing two feet away with his arms crossed watching me check out. I quickly scan my items and the lady behind the jewelry counter starts yelling for another associate stating there are problems with my order because my register was blinking red. It was blinking red because the code on the bed set was incorrect. I heard the same associate say "her purse". I turn around and the manager looking guy is searching through my buggy. I took out my wallet and made it clear to every one that I had plenty of money in there to pay for my items and then quickly swiped my card. I have never felt so uncomfortable buying anything in a store before. I literally had a few wax cubes and a bed set. I will take my business elsewhere from now on. I'm so used to super wal marts that I was a little surprised when I first stepped into the store. It has everything but the extended grocery section. They do have pantry goods, frozen foods and smaller selection of fridge foods, so if your shopping anyways and there are a few things you have to pick up, there probably isn't a need to make two stops. The clothing section is very lacking though. On my way up, I stopped at a wal mart somewhere around Eureka to pick up some eye drops and a snack, and saw a lot of women's winter apparel that actually looked cute, and at the store close to where I lived in central Cali, there was usually a strong staple of cute sun dresses and simple tops. I couldn't say that I found anything here worth my time to even look at. read more

We had went in today for laundry soap and cleaner... My little one (2year old) had to go potty, so off we went. We went into the restrooms and one by one we went down the line of toilets. One after another pee on the seats or nasty un flushed toilets ... We finally found one that was not clean but had to work at that point and time for a little one who couldn't hold her pee.. We placed a seat cover of course and she sat down, she isn't very big and the toilet isn't exactly 2 year old bum friendly, my little girl went to place her hands on the toilet seat and i simply said " honey dont put your hands on the toilet seat they are dirty! I held her hands to support her not two seconds after that i hear from two stalls down "these bathrooms are cleaner than yours" i said excuse me. (joe) then said these bathrooms are cleaned several times a day. I then said to her how dare you talk to me that way. And tell me that! Have you not seen this restroom?! And who do you think you are to even talk to me in that manner, and tell me that this bathroom is cleaner than mine, are you crazy! (joe) hurried out and was gone before i could see her face to face.... But lucky me the sweet girl at the service desk knew who she was;-) so yes i had a wonderful talk with a nice very apologetic manager..... I love my Walmart for their prices however I hate there animal care I see at least 10 dead fish every single time I go there They take horrible care of there betta's they Dye the water blue in the cup, don't feed them, and put them on the shelves like there a item! This upsets me a lot considering I am the fish and small animal lady! It upsets me but I still love this store because they have trendy clothes and a lot of good products! If you love animals ( fish ) because it hurts to see all the dead fish getting eaten! And they have some horrible small animal products such as 1 type of cage that is way too small, chinchilla dust that could kill a hamster! This is probably the nastiest Walmart I have ever been in. We moved here about three years ago and I would rather drive off the island to the Walmart in Burlington than spend a penny at this one. The employees, when you can find one who isn't talking to another employee, are rude. Whenever my husband or I ask anyone for help, they almost always huff and roll their eyes before they yell into their walkie-talkies. If I wasn't already upset about having to even step in the door, the employees attitudes would be almost comical. Even the store manager, who I've met in the Site-to-Store department, is borderline rude. To all those who find it necessary to go to Walmart, medicate yourself before you do. And yes, I understand it's typical Walmart behavior, but honestly, living on such a small island, it really blows having to always deal with such stupidity. read more
