Absolutely love this shop, they've got everything from books, to board games, to MTG cards and more! They also have a small café inside. I always find something every time I go, and they have frequently had sales on books, i've gotten a few for up to 50% off, and the selection is quite big! The customer service is also always good, never had a negative experience there and workers frequently check in to make sure you're finding what you're looking for, especially if you're like me and take hours picking out your next book or journal to write in. I stopped in to The Book Rack today and decided to have a light snack at the Cafe inside. I chose the Mushroom and Olive flatbread and Autumn Heat tea. The flatbread was nice and crispy with a good flavor for something pre-made and just needed to be heated. But the highlight of my visit was the Autumn Heat tea. The "Heat" refers to the spice level (one of the ingredients is Hot Honey), you can choose for it to be served hot or cold. I chose to have it served hot. I really enjoy spicy food and drinks. This tea was very spicy! If you enjoy spicy foods you should give this one a try. Otherwise, I recommend you pass on this one! The bookstore had a dining area, games to stay and play, a discount section, mini events area, just so much not including the books and it was so cute! Wow- this place was good before the relocation/expansion, and now it's AMAZING. Huge selection of books, merch, games, and other goodies a nerd or geek might want to peruse. The cafe, while nothing was up on the menus yet, served two delicious drinks and a perfect bagel. The barista was super kind and informative. The pastry and drink selection is good, and the presentation was very cool (a little heart on my mocha latte!), and they offered milk substitutes. If you are looking for gifts, then look no further because they have something for everyone. There are art supplies, puzzles, boba milk plushies, journals, tarot, board games, collectible card decks (from Pokémon to One Piece), and of course lots of books for pleasure reading, personal or professional development, or education. Haven't been since I left the island for college ages ago. This is not the Book Rack you remember in the 90's. They have expanded and are still on midway. This place now has a cafe plus tons of reading options as well as board games. Highly recommend coming by, they sell more than just books: puzzles, cards, board games, and have a full operational cafe. Current seasonal coffee/drink syrup flavors are peppermint, gingerbread, and pumpkin spice. The cafe offers alternative milks (during the holiday season they have eggnog)! I am forever impressed by The Book Rack, come by, browse around, they have reading nooks all over the store. My toddler son loves the little table and benches they have in the kid area and books at his height so he can browse independently. read more

This shop is incredible... they have everything... it's not a janky discount book store, it is a legit beautiful shop full of so many different things... we spent almost 2 hours walking around and it was incredible... Just moved to Oak Harbor and me and my wife are book worms so we decided to check this place out. I loved the atmosphere and even found a book for myself. The cafe was amazing we had two chais and a tomato caprese. One of the best chais we've ever had. We will definitely be coming back for the excellent service and amazing vibe. read more

great selection of new and used books and they have comics!! if i had to choose a favorite book store in my hometown, i would have to say that this one takes the cake....in fact, i would probably say that this is my favorite used book store...ever. I really enjoy buying my books used and they have a lot of used books. they also have an exchange...you bring in your old books and you get store credit. I believe that the credit is good for ANYTHING in the store. now, for those of you who don't know me personally, i am a nerd. i like nerdy things...they make me happy. so comic books, "yes please"...i think that they also carry d&d stuff and magik cards....i definitely remember seeing some D12 and D20 die there. it's basically my nerd outlet of oak harbor...all they need is video games and computer game and they would be set....maybe a cos-play party on the 3rd friday of the month...eh? eh? read more

Do not take books to them for credit/cash, they told me that they would either give me credit or cash for books i brought down and when i went back for the cash because i am moving they now say they dont give cash, told them i wanted my books back and they cant do that either because they most likely sold them, going to report them to the Better Business Bureau! read more
