We are vacationing on Whidbey Island and drove to Coupeville to visit the historic downtown. As we…read morewalked by Back to the island I noticed the great display they had in the window. The store didn't open until 11am so we did a bit more walking, went back and was greeted by the owner (we didn't know she owned the store yet). She gave us the inside scoop for the filming of Practical Magic. We found a few things and she was saying that she is waiting for PM coffee cups but when she gets them they sell out super fast. Long story short she told me one was on display at the visitor center and she would shut the store up and walk over and get it! I said how about I walk over? So I did! I do want to say that while I was in the store she greeted everyone with a smile. The customer service was equal for all. The store itself is full, clean and well organized. Check it out I think you'll like it!

A tin of almond Roca feel from the top shelf and landed, creating a very small dent in the side of the tin. I apologized heartily for the incident, but I was met with merely a glare and a $16 tab for a few pieces of candy. I am a VERY skinny dude, so this kind of stuff does not happen to me easily yet the store owner placed the blame entirely upon me. Avoid this shop at all costs -- Coupeville is a very nice town with plenty of stores to visit, you don't need to come in here. With terrible customer service, this woman will try to squeeze every dollar out of you that she can.

Other times it might be my grandparents with my sister and I. More recently, I have come here on a more frequent basis since I started visiting my grandma for overnight solo visits in 2016. We make a point of coming here and seeing if there is anything either of us needs/wants. I have fun these days with trying to help her find presents for family members. Typically, presents and gifts we go to the electronic section for, though not always, as the prices tend to be a better deal than other in-person and online retailers. When I was younger we occasionally enjoyed stops at the food court. Shopping could be a half day experience when we were really into it.

I loved the section dedicated to Whidbey Island swag and local gifts. They had a section that made me laugh out loud, advertising Washington's Rain Festival, from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31st! Since I stayed in a nice hotel with a fantastic view of the water and never saw a sunset- just shades of gray to black, I can completely concur that I experienced this Rain Festival. Besides my souvenir shopping, they essentially have a mall crammed into one building. Electronics, clothing, purses, fragrances, home goods, pet supplies and more! There is even a cafe. This was my 4th NEX (I think) that I have been to and I think it was the nicest.
