Ok so it's almost the end of April and summer is coming so I will let you in on my secret but…read moreplease don't take my time slot ok? ;) It's been over a year and I am still working out at FGT, twice a week for 60 minutes with my husband. For the past 5 months, we have been training exclusively with Christian. He brings maturity and experience far beyond his years. He plans each workout in advance and tracks our progress. Each workout is different and never boring! He pushes us hard but is also careful and checks in as for example, I had an injury (non gym related) and he is always watching to make sure I don't hurt myself. He combines muscle, balance, cardio and flexibility in his workouts. He corrects our form (so we don't get hurt). He is hands on throughout the session and constantly encourages us. We have had significant results since training with Christian. Our efforts are optimized for time that we spend training. Some of the benefits we have reaped from training with Christian include; loss of body fat, increased lean muscle mass, improved flexibility, improved endurance, better coordination and balance, consistency (he has never cancelled on us!), motivation and so much more. I also go to 30 minute fit which is included in the package of training sessions we purchased. I almost always go at the times when there is a trainer in the room as I want to be corrected if I am not doing something right. (Again I don't want to get injured and I want success sooner than later...) it usually takes me a few more minutes than 30 but it's fast and a great, quick workout. They have different packages available but just know that this is NOT anything like the gyms down the street. Not at all! When you walk in the door, you are recognized and you will recognize the others. Crowded here means maybe 3 people in the 30 minute fit room? Seriously it's very small, there is no drama, no fashion show..no cold stare downs or whatever is going on in those other gyms ;) It's small. It's friendly. People are genuine. Hard work = results and you will have all the support you need right here.

These guys brought my NordicTrack elliptical back from the dead! Okay, maybe I am being a little…read moredramatic but we were pretty dismayed that our pandemic elliptical had stopped working. The incline and resistance features had mysteriously stopped. We tried all of the YouTube video recommendations for troubleshooting with no luck. Had no idea what to expect with contacting a professional to troubleshoot because, well, we've never owned equipment like this before. I appreciated that pretty much everything could be done by email and phone in terms of scheduling. They had good availability and provide a reasonable time window so you're not stuck waiting at home all day. They message when they are on their way (or call). The guy who came to provide the service was courteous and efficient. Our only frustration was that it turned out to be not one, but two, parts that needed replacing. At first I was frustrated but then Ian hopped on a quick call with me and explained why that was, and how the type of failure I was experiencing worked. Helped a ton since I don't have any knowledge about this machine. Anyway, our second part replacement just happened this week and we're happily gliding again. Even given the need to replace a rather expensive part it was more cost effective to repair vs. replace this thing. We're hoping to get many more years out of it now that it is working again. Instead, they wanted us to look at ones in their computer system and buy one without trying it. Really? They had walked upstairs thinking it was apart of the stores selection, upon seeing it was full of boxes they walked down and came back to look at the knives near the reels I was looking at. A man that worked at the store ended up approaching them soon after, asking them if they had gone upstairs. They answered yes and explained they hadn't seen the signage stating employees only until they came back down as it was poorly placed against the wall near the stairs and barely visable. He then insinuated they stole and made a show of saying he would check the cameras. Once I stepped in and said my children aren't thieves he then double down and said that they had cameras. I left infuriated leaving behind a 200 dollar purchase with a bad taste in my mouth, safe to say I will not be going back.

We are still going to do that shopping trip but I wanted to get a head start. My goal was to go in and buy a tackle box. Each person I saw smiled and waved. One of the sales associates noticed my perplexed look on my face when looking for tackle boxes and asked me if he could help. I explained I am new to fishing and I am starting with trout fishing. This gentleman immediately gave some tips on tackle boxes and walked me through some gear ideas. He had me hold a rod and was showing me how strong it was if I had a fish on there. He was really patient with my questions and when another customer saw him, that customer was like "you sold me my first fishing license years ago" (I think he says 20 years ago to be exact). This associate name is Glen and let me tell you, find Glen because he will take care of you. I ended up purchasing a tackle box, a rod and reel. When I went to check out, the cashier was friendly and reminded me to take my receipt in case I needed to return something (thanks for looking out for me). Finally, when I went to get my fishing license, the associate lady (her name escapes me at the moment) was super friendly and after we talked about my journey into trout fishing, she showed me some good stuff that she uses and I bought that too. I would say, the employees that I encountered loved what they do and gave exceptional advice. Whether you're new to fishing or experienced, this is the place to go.
