This is by far one of the worse Walmarts I have been to. The staff is crazy rude. They stand in the middle of walk ways just talking. They will walk in your path without acknowledgment. They don't let their presence be known when walking by with pallet jacks. They just walk through you. There is an old lady at the front door selectively checking receipts. It' sucks that this is the closes location for me. Terrible staff. read more

If you want to find the cleanest most organized Walmart around, look no further. We traveled through Marlin recently and found ourselves making a pit stop at the local Walmart. It was early in the morning, shortly after they opened the doors. Immediately as I walked through the doors I was greeted with a smile & a kind salutation. I quickly realized how well kept the store was as I made my way through the isles. The restrooms were clean as well. Highly recommend this Walmart!!! read more

Without a doubt, the Marlin, TX Walmart has the rudest and laziest workers. The "greeter" at the door was too occupied with her phone, as was the cashier. I stood there for 15-20 seconds while she finished scrolling through Facebook. Employees are ALWAYS on their phones when I come in. How is this store even still open? read more

Not a fan of Wal Mart but I pass through here every week and today found myself in need of a new 12v cooler. Found one online and they said they had a few in Marlin. I LOVE these old Wal Marts!!! This is how they were before the SuperCenter concept was born. I parked my 18 wheeler, walked in and got my cooler and was back outside and on my way in about 7 minutes. Upon entering this Walmart, I felt as if I had stepped back in time. It's a good feeling in a way...you know what I mean? Being that this is an older style store, you can find what you need and it's not going to be all that far away. The employees were super friendly, they literally seemed content. They were likely employed there since this store opened. The bathroom is clean and I truly appreciate that. Every establishment should maintain their restrooms. I may judge a place by the way they keep their restroom. :) I hope this store never changes...it's smaller than most, but, it's way okay with me. :) read more

This Walmart is horrible, most of the employees are rude and impolite, they will not speak to you in the isle, it's very hard to get help, most of the employees are on their cell phone and you as the customer are doing them an unjust being there, they don't even speak to you at the register other than to say what you owe, I even believe some are prejudice. read more

Worst people ever. My son had a flat tire and finally made it to this store at 530. The website said the auto department was open until 7. The very rude people, including the manager, said they couldn't do anything because they only had one technician there. If you are open until 7 then you should have people working until 7. He was in the first 2 hours of a 5 hour drive and they were rude and unhelpful. I will never shop at walmart again!!!!! read more

I went to the Marlin Walmart at 8:30 a.m. to get two pairs of sandals I'd ordered online. I stood at the pick-up area, touched the computer screen to get someone to help me, and stood there long enough for the computer program to recycle. Six associates walked by me--no acknowledgement, no "I'll be with you in a minute"--nothing. One young lady turned on the lights, fired up the computer, and walked away with me standing at the counter and didn't even look at me! When I finally realized that I was on my own, I went to the customer service desk (oxymoron!) and asked to speak to the manager. He appeared, listened to my experience with the "associates" (God knows who they are associating with, not customers, obviously) and went to the Pick-up area to straighten things out. Two ladies were at the Pick-up desk, very apologetic, and tried to get my order for me. It would have been better if one lady could have activated the computer program. Eventually, I got my order and left. I hadn't expected to spend over 40 minutes to get a pick-up order. The manager was helpful, the two ladies at the pick-up desk who seemed to actually work there were helpful, but honest to God, I'll do without before I'll order any items for pick-up at the Marlin Walmart! Usually I have no problems here, but my recent experience left me wondering what was going on in this store. I purchased an item being discontinued which was marked down $5. When I got home I noticed that the checker rung up the full price. When I returned to the store a few days later, I pointed out the problem and was issued a "refund" totaling less than $3.25. The "courtesy" booth employee insisted it was correct because the computer said so. Not wanting to give a lesson in mathematics, I asked for the store manager, a person named Denzel whom I had never seen before. He puzzled over the refund slip for a while before insisting that it was correct. No matter how I tried, he would not be convinced that an error at the register of $5 should be refunded somewhere in the vicinity of $5, not $3.25. At this point, he began insinuating that I was trying to cheat the store. Seeing that I was not convinced by his reasoning, he proceeded to smile at me, and wish me a pleasant day after arguing with me for 30 minutes. No additional refund. I returned a few days later and spoke to a different manager to whom the error was obvious. The courtesy clerk and charged me $1.75 in tax on my $5 refund! I immediately received a full refund. I have to wonder what has become of common sense and Walmart employee screening when two employees are willing to offend a good customer over a error of $1.75. Computer registers are not always right because people operate them. A clerk should have at least basic arithmetic skills and common sense to spot and correct them. read more
