Like every place it's busy and sometimes you're there a little longer than needed but all in all Walmart is an amazing store.

There was a shuttle from the ship to Walmart. The shuttle driver was friendly and professional. They had everything I needed. The employees were friendly and very helpful. This place is great place for locals and tourist alike. read more

Moved out of the Ketchikan area to the lower 48 but yet this is still the only Walmart I ever willingly want to come back to (when there's not a lot of tourists in the summer). It's very clean and well stocked, I just wish they carried more like some other locations do. read more

It's always an eye opening experience for any Canadians to go shop in states. I was on Crown Princess cruise ship to go to Alaska, and staff told me she buys instant noodles here. Walmart was on my go to place list after all the sightseeing /souvenir shopping. I really wanted to buy some small sized ice cream and a souvenir. In the end, I got a neoprene can sleeve with Alaska letter on. There were other souvenirs like fridge magnet, tshirts and hats for inexpensive price. I was also shocked to find instant noodles which I really missed. Plenty of Asian snacks/ drinks to buy here. They also sell Goldilocks pastry if anyone likes Flipino sweets. I should've bought more Korean instant noodles here, boo. Walmart is located 20 - 30 minutes away from cruiseship dock (or touristy areas) by car. Free shuttle bus doesn't stop here, but Flipino uncle will help you get here by driving. He hangs around the parking area by souvenir shops with a sign "free walmart shuttle". Princess staff goes here often for snack/ grocery shopping. Small selection of Alaska souvenirs, but the price was rather inexpensive than souvenir shops. read more

The worst experience in a Walmart to date. going through Home goods section, encountered a worker that was restocking with a cart and she acted like I was in the way, and while browsing the section said excuse me, with attitude because I was in her way. browsed the electronics section and had a question and the worker was very annoyed that I needed help. I'm just here working for the summer, and I definitely won't be back, I will rather shop on Amazon and have things delivered than go into this so called mini Walmart. If you go there , just don't interact with the workers, most I saw seem like they hate their job and are annoyed you are there. read more

There is a free shuttle here from the ships- but don't go here thinking they will have cheaper tourist shirts or local food. The shirts and hats were MORE than at the port (and much worse quality) and they had no "local" foods- like salmonberry candy or hucklberry jam. It was a big disappointment. IF you need something at Walmart, though, it's a free van ride away- the van picks up at the end of the port where the big parking lot is. read more

Six self checkouts and 4 checkouts with friendly cashiers were working when we were here on a busy Thursday afternoon. We love the Alaskan hats that are only $2.97. We also picked up plates and napkins for the 4th of July. Most of the items are priced reasonably considering this is Alaska. But the water is less expensive at Safeway. If you are looking for plants, they have a wide variety. read more

I am disappointed, this has is not lived up to what it should be. I don't understand why they have so many checkouts when they only use 3-4 isles while there are 20. They have a vast amount of supply though, I am happy with their prices too. They could be lower prices, but I guess they want more money. I hope they add more self checkouts, but other then that, this is your average Walmart with good prices and fair service. read more

I want to thank Yelp for letting me know about the free shuttle! The shuttles are really frequent (maybe every 15 minutes or so). They are direct as well. This Walmart is very clean and it had the cleanest bathroom that I have ever seen in any Walmart. Lots of souvenirs here as well. Most things here were not significantly more than in the continental US which was great. read more

At this very moment my co-workers an I are still standing outside Walmart as they won't even let us inside the store because "they are waiting for their computers to come back on." No...they are waiting for surveillance to come back on...we are now leaving. Thanks Walmart for taking up our entire lunch break and making us standbout in the rain. Stand up service. read more

I just want to say how great this store is and how wonderful and helpful the employees are. my diaper bag and wallet were left in the cart and someone brought it in to customer service where they held on to it till I could figure out it was lost. as soon as I walked in they were super nice and helpful and I got all my belongings and nothing was missing thank God cause cancelling bank card and getting another license is a hassle. again the employees are amazing and super friendly. by far the best store in town ! read more

The staff at Walmart are so nice. The smell in the store is horrid. Please invest in some aromatherapy as this place stinks. I feel sorry for the workers who spend 8 hours a day in a stinky environment. read more

The lady Kathy Bainey that worked in Customer Care was absolutely HORRIFIC and The rudest woman I have ever crossed paths with in my life !! That's putting it lightly too. She was always , aways very rude and seemingly just a miserable person. I always dreaded going into this Walmart. I once told the manager , TERRY about My awful encounters with her and he didn't do a damn thing. He was not a good manager in my eyes and always seemed off in LA LA LAND. We were on a cruise ship and our first port was Ketchikan. I had forgotten one prescription and one over the counter item. We were there 1 hour before the pharmacy opened and the pharmacist took my name, home pharmacy and their phone number. He had my prescription ready before the pharmacy opened. I give that service an A+. Every employee there was extremely helpful and considerate. read more

I recently moved from the lower 48 states and couldnt believe how limited the Walmart in Ketchikan is. Grocery section is a joke. A few rows of food and 1 cold food case. I am used to the super stores. This one isnt even close. read more

This occurred this morning at Walmart in Ketchikan. My husband went into the store at 6:40am as the doors were open and people inside. He walked past 5 employees in uniform vests, shopped and started to approach the register to pay. From behind, a woman yelled at him, "You need to leave! Get out!" She was not wearing a badge or vest. My husband asked her if she worked for Walmart, upon which she screamed "Call security!!" He walked over to register to leave his items, started walking Towards the exit and she then shouts, "Yeah, that's right...leave!" My husband could not believe this was happening and was very upset. Who does this? Acts so unprofessional that they don't even give him a reason why he has to leave. He has shopped here since it opened and has never been treated so disrespectfully! This woman was in her late 40's, white, average build, 5'5" tall, long curly brown hair. We would like to know her name so we can report her to corporate office. The store manager was no help when I called today. Walmart needs to better train and weed out the rotten eggs. She obviously has an attitude problem. read more
