This is the third smallest Walmart in the world. Pretty cool. I thought for being a small Walmart, it was absolutely perfect. Everything was easy to find and they had everything I needed in stock...even Clorox Wipes and hand sanitizer!! I haven't been able to find any for three months so I hit the jackpot here at the Gunnison Walmart. I 'm just here visiting but love this Walmart. The employees there are super helpful and friendly too. I like that they didn't make it so big that they'd put too much of a hurt on other local businesses. read more

When u forget pants for wedding and are an odd size this wal-mart will not be of help. :( It is a very small Wal-mart so if you are looking for something specific you may not find it here but they have the basics covered. read more

Okay. If you're coming into town and think "sweet, they have a Wal-Mart! I'll shop for groceries when I get there!", then you need to know this isn't that kind of Wal-Mart (but no problem! Just go to City Market next door). This Wal-Mart has kayaks, they have a fabric cutting counter, they have about 15 TVs on display, they have some snack foods, and clothing for the whole family, and bikes ...but no refrigerated food, unless you count drinks at the checkout lanes. It's an odd conglomeration of offering choices, but solid groceries isn't part of all that. It worked okay when we needed an emergency bathing suit and some powdered coffee creamer (and bonus, super duper sale on baby blankets and onesies that we ransacked for a pregnant cousin) ...but not really meeting our main needs. If you're in the market for bikes and kayaks, you'll probably find this to be more of a four star kind of situation! read more

I live here! This is a very small Walmart store but it has all basic stuff that you might need: toothbrush, laundry soap, clothing, automotive supplies, sports section, household items, etc. It does not have a huge selection but it gets the job done. An hour over the mountain pass East or West will get you a Super Walmart store. The people who work here range from college kids to seniors. They are kind, helpful and will go out of their way to assist you. Like many locals, I wish they would build a Super Store to serve the 15,000 + county population and bustling tourist season. They have the space! Until then, we are a small town with a big heart. read more

This one's not one of the "Super Stores" so it's not very big, doesn't have optical, tax prep, banking, nail salon or a McDonald's inside, but it has a pretty good selection of most stuff you'd expect from a WalMart. It has a small grocery selection but without any frozen foods, meat or dairy. It has a well-stocked pharmacy, pet section, automotive, clothing, housewares, etc. Great one-stop shopping for staples and a nice asset for Gunnison. read more

Best wall mart ever. Basics are covered. You can get in and out within ten minutes. You have 4 lanes to check out. Simple store for a simple town. Less to buy more time to play outside. Thats the reason your here right? read more

The store is a mess and the employees are incredibly rude. For instance I was profiled for being a teen. I was with my friends and we were smelling some candles doing no harm and an employee looked us up and down and said in a very rude tone " do you need help with anything" she then proceeded to follow us around and mumble to her coworkers about us! This is not the first time I have been profiled I was with some other Friends here a couple weeks ago shopping for some room decor and an employee came up to us and said in an angry tone accusing us of stealing some fake nails I'm am disgusted read more

This is by far the dirtiest Walmart we have ever been in. No one greeted us or asked if we needed help.

As far as Wal-Marts go, this has to rank among the dirtiest, smallest, and most poorly maintained of them in the country. The selection here is likewise abysmal, due in no small part to the size. Seeing that the next Wal-Mart store is over an hour a way, this one services a very large area. With the amount of business they get from 10's of thousands of tourists plus all the locals, they could do well having a super walmart or at the very least do some serious renovation. This store is better than nothing, but not by much. read more
