I think if the choice is between Walmart in Scarborough and Walmart in Falmouth, I'd rather go to the Scarborough one. It seems physically bigger (with wider aisles), like there's more options (if you've never perused their plant-based selection in the freezers... wow!), and in general it's just easier to navigate (the layout of the store and the parking lot). 1. This Walmart's parking lot is terrible. The entrance/exit is confusing, and people just drive through the spaces like it's an open field. Be careful friends! 2. You can't access the garden center from the outside, you need to go all the way inside, then carry all your plants back to the front to cash out. 3. They don't have tap to pay, so if you don't have your physical card with you... SOL, babe. 4. The store could use a deep clean. 5. The self check out kiosks are the worst (the employees guarding them are also super unfriendly). There's like eight of them and every single time I come, maaaaaaybe half are operational. They're clunky and slow. Don't get in line for this, the line with the actual cashier always moves faster. read more

I have currently been on hold for over 45 minutes now simply trying to get ahold of one singular person. For such a large store, with as many workers as they have; They have no respect for their customers when it comes to providing ANY customer service. I have been going to Walmart all my life for it's convenience. I know that if I were to stop going it probably won't make much of a difference. But with the inconvenience I have experienced with them, I would rather go out of my way to give my money and service to a store that respects their customers time and money. I didn't expect much Walmart, just for someone to answer the multiple phone calls you've been getting all morning.... Please don't shop at this store. They don't deserve your money. read more

This is a prime example of what a "ghetto Walmart" looks like, the shelves are sparse, the employees are dull, lifeless, rude, and don't even get me started on the Patrons. When I entered this Walmart's parking lot I was already a little skeptical, the cart corral was overflowing, and there were just random employees chilling at the front of the building, as I type this now I'm watching an employee smoke a cigarette outside the front of the store, so unprofessional. You can truly tell the staff don't care, and that's just the outside of the building, the inside is much much worse. As I entered the building, I immediately noticed the sparsity of the shelves, like they haven't been stocked in a week or so, and the entire store had a nasty odor throughout that I can only really describe as a meth addict's popcorn farts. The employees didn't seem to mind the smell, or even care about anything going on in the store as I watched them lazily lean against their cash stations and have personal conversations as the customer lines got longer and longer. Again, so unprofessional. Now, I'm not sure if this is just the general attitude of the lovely people of Falmouth or if I had something on my face, but the patrons of this Walmart were giving me the nastiest looks, that's beside the point, but it still kind of added another layer of suck to my experience. Overall, this Walmart is trash and if I could give it zero stars, I absolutely would, there are two much better Walmart locations in Portland and Scarborough that you'll definitely prefer over Falmouth. I beg anyone to stay far, far away from this location if you can help it. 0 out of 10 Will never go again. read more

Extremely rude employees . Poor selection of products. The store is cramped, messy and poorly stocked . Only one register opened for the whole store! A cashier at this store once refused to allow me to purchase data cards for my track phone. She said for all she new I was a terrorist and that there where federal laws about how many cards you could buy. She got quite nasty when I asked to speak to the manager. read more

I sometimes come to this Walmart because it has fewer creepy people hanging around, than other locations. However, this smaller store has a poor selection, especially of food, and last night I was disturbed by how their staff treated me. I am a middle-aged, poor, disabled white woman: That does NOT make me a shoplifter! Falmouth may be a wealthy town, but discriminating against economically disadvantaged, disabled people, is simply unacceptable. Staff followed me around the store as I rolled around in an electric cart, largely ignoring the two groups of teenagers who filled their pockets and backpacks, then slipped out past the staff. Registers were closed, so I rolled the electric cart up to the self checkout. Three staff members watched me struggle with heavy cases & gallons of water & seltzer, in pain and barely able to stand on my ruined knee, while a line formed. All three just stood there, watching me struggle, for a good 15-30 minutes, without helping, except to bring bags & an extra cart. They stood and watched my entire, painfully slow checkout process, including using the scanner multiple times on an item in the top of the cart so I didn't have to bend over to scan another of the same item on the bottom. Then scrolling on the checkout screen, to double-check the numbers. Yet when I went to leave, after paying over $185.00 for groceries, health, & wellness items, they started asking me if I had paid for everything, especially the $1.68 item on the bottom. Since they watched the whole process, I was pretty put off by this. I think they were angry that all the teenagers with backpacks and pockets full of stolen items had slipped past them, so they were trying to catch anyone they could. I am disgusted and put off by this. This was Not racial discrimination; it was either socioeconomic discrimination, or disability discrimination. I don't recommend this Walmart to anyone disabled, nor of any ethnic persuasion, nor to anyone without a trust fund (and the clothing and mannerisms to flaunt it). read more

Why does this Walmart have so few stars? :( While I live closer to this Walmart, I usually frequent the South Portland location simply because it's bigger. However... on weekday evenings when my roommate and I get a craving for Hot Cheetos, there is NO PLACE ELSE to go. I have no idea why I can't find these chips anywhere else, so it's a good thing that this Walmart is open until midnight on most nights (to satisfy those nearly late night cravings!) This particular Walmart is small and compact, while carrying almost anything you're looking for (except for fresh produce). They do have one refrigerated section that carries dairy and some frozen foods. I snagged a set of thermals (top & bottom) for only $10 the other day! Because it's Walmart, you know you'll find low prices. On occasional weekends, you may also find students from UNE giving free blood pressure screenings! read more

We were in there today to pick up 3 things. They had no check out lanes manned by live people when we first tried to check out. Only a few self checkout lines were open and there was at least 20 people trying to checkout. It was slow and chaotic. read more

I was at this location last night and only the self check out was open, there weren't any traditional registers open at all. Not only did this make for an unbelievably long line, it was weird to watch people ring in entire carts filled with stuff on those tiny scales... themselves. The saddest part, was when an elderly man who appeared to have only the use of one arm and a whole range of other issues with cognition was forced to use a self check out and you could tell he was terribly embarrassed and it made the line go even slower and it was just terrible. Beware of the nasty older woman who works at the service desk in the Falmouth, ME store. I was involved in an incident in the parking lot when an old man tried to push my car out of a parking space. When I went into the store to purchase a USB drive that had to be unlocked by an associate, I was treated very rudely by a nasty woman at the service desk. She deliberately kept helping other people (who arrived in the self-checkout area after I did) before me. When she finally ran out of other people to help, she had no choice but to help me. She made a very nasty remark to me about "an incident in the parking lot," & it became clear that she was punishing me because she assumed that I was the cause of the incident. She didn't have ANY of the facts but already decided who was wrong. I will NOT be pre-judged, punished & disrespected by a Walmart employee who didn't have any of the facts. Stay as far away as you can from the Falmouth, ME store. They're really scraping the bottom of the barrel for employees. read more

I actually like this Walmart because it is a bit more "customer accessible" than say the one in South Portland where after an hour there I'm exhausted, plus I have picked up things I don't really need :-). The Falmouth Walmart is close for me as a Falmouth resident. Contrary to other reviews I haven't had much of a problem finding help or finding a short check-out line, maybe because as an older shopper I can vary my shopping times to coincide with slower shopping times, about once a week my husband and I go out for a quick dinner around 5:00 then go over to Walmart to pick up a few things. I learned a long time ago to visit Malls at dinner time when other women are home fixing dinner! read more

I will never shop at Walmart Again! I went to my local walmart to buy a laptop for my wife for Christmas and they we out of the one we looked at. The electronics manager scanned it and said they had 12 in Falmouth Maine Walmart so I drove over there. It was there but $100.00 more than in Windham. To my shock Walmart doesn't price match their own stores. Can you believe this. They will match another company but not their own. This was a store less then 20 miles from the other one. I called the Corporate line and they said they couldn't help me but I could lodge a complaint with the local store.(A polite fu) This is nuts a store this large should take care of their customers. We have spent a lot of money in Walmart this year alone but not anymore. read more

This store is fascinating to watch as so much petty wickedness plays out, most of it in the stores effort to cut a penny here and a penny there. I have been flat out lied to. I really enjoy the small size of this walmart, however the customer service is lacking. Several times I have left the store leaving items behind due to the fact I cannot seem to find anyone to help me locate items I cannot find. I was also told by one employee "Its in the same place as every other walmart". Although convenient, it is not very friendly. read more

Half a star, this is a sham of a WalMart, a standing joke in Falmouth. They are unbelievably rude and disgusting towards paying customers who frequent the store. The greeters and cashiers go out of their way to inconvenience the customers. They dont have what I need and the layout of the store is awful. Worst WalMart I have visited. This store serves its purpose. Cheap items including a produce section. The customer service is decent but 90% of the time there are long lines. Not much to say about this Wal-Mart except that there's a big sales section if you go to the right of the store. read more

I went to the Scarborough, Maine, WaL Mart yesterday to buy a phone and was verbally and mentally abused. The woman working electronics couldn't be bothered to help me find the phone I was looking for and she was rude, dismissive, demeaning, and condescending. But that's not the worst part, I got so upset I turned around to leave and as I did so she said, " You're drunk!" SHE CALLED ME A DRUNK! I'd been doing yard work, and yes, I'd had a couple, it was a hot day. I may have smelt like beer but I wasn't drunk and I wasn't buying alcohol, so why would that be her business, or to even say anything? Who says that to anyone? SHE WAS JUST STRAIGHT UP MEAN FOR NO REASON. I've already called the store and spoken to the manager and he's not happy, he told me "Those aren't the kinds of people we tolerate at WaL Mart". He apologized for the incident, which I appreciate, but I hope that woman starts looking for a new job. This is NOT going to go away. You don't treat people like that. read more
