In a nutshell, the artist makes these cool designs with raccoons, pigeons, squirrels, rats, etc and then those are put on t-shirts or on patches that are sewn onto hats/beanies/bags, etc. The beardy fellow working there was also awesome and you could tell he was passionate about the art that the store was selling. When my friend mentioned he liked the "Pigeon with Dunkin" patch but couldn't find a bucket hat with one on it, the gentleman offered to sew one on in real time. They used to have a large selection of their items available at the Maine Souvenir Shop and was my introduction to her amazing work. Due to working with goats I needed to have beanies with goats on them and now have a second and they are my favorite hats. This is the perfect spot to be introduced to her work now. They have beanies, trucker hats, bags, stickers, notebooks, stickers and more. All with the absolute perfect artwork of animals, mostly getting into mischief. Imagine raccoons enjoying candy, goat chewing beer can, pigeons with coffee and donuts. Truly special artwork in my opinion. An artist I look forward to continuing to support. No snark, no hostility, just a frank opinion, which was less than glowing. It was never published on their site. That's just wrong. This calls into question the ethics of this company as a whole, their deceptive practice of only publishing reviews that promote their product is the height of cynical, self serving mentality lacking any ethical restraint....rather than offering a representative range of opinion and allowing the consumer the opportunity to decide for themselves which seem most relevant to them. Stay away. Not so much for the product itself, but the darker intent behind management's regrettable decision to censor legitimate opinion that they disagree with based on their own financial need.

But this wonderful shop with wooden clogs lining the windows was too cute to pass up without a walk through. Especially since I had commented TWICE that day already on other people's cute clogs and how I really wanted a good pair. I took it as a sign. One side of the shop is the store, the other their workshop, and the entire space smells like leather. The woman working that day, who I would guess was the owner, was kind and patient and got me a few different pairs to try on. I left before buying to debate if I wanted to spend a bit of $ on a pair and also needed to decide on a color (brown or black). Well, after a drink at a nearby brewery, I returned and bought my great new pair of shoes. They are comfy and cute and came in a great little cloth tote bag I've used quite a few times already. All and all a great purchase, and a shop I highly recommend for shoes and all things leather!

A had a chat with the very friendly person working there (the owner maybe) and then noticed a dreamy leather tote, just the right light brownish red that kind of matches my hair. It was an ok price for a thick leather, well built tote, although more than I had planned to spend that day. I couldn't resist. Now 3 years later I'm still using the tote and get compliments all of the time. Right now I'm building a smallish house and find myself throwing saw blades, pints of paint, and other items I pick up at the store into it. Not normally what one should do with a nice purse, but the purse is unphased. It gets more of a worn in look, but it's even more lovely as such.

I walk in and there's a whole bunch of handbags every color and combination you could think of and in the back is a woman, who I assume is Alice, on the sewing machine, making the purses. She literally handmade everything in that store ,right there in the store! I picked up this adorable little card holder that actually has three or four slots on both sides as well as a fairly decent size middle slot for cash, etc. I found her prices were extremely fair for such beautiful, handmade, uniquely, different purses, and wallets and clutches and cosmetic pouches, etc. Visit the store you won't be disappointed!

Jacqueline saved the day! True to many brides' actual nightmares - I had a wedding dress fiasco a…read moremere few weeks away from my wedding! The seamstress had added pea-sized buttons on my derrière, where buttons did not previously exist. Jacqueline was not only quick to respond, but was able to fix my problem in less than 15 minutes. This, I see, as a victory, because the seamstress who I went to in the first place had looked me dead in the eye when I told her I didn't like the outcome of my dress, and asked her to remove the buttons, and said "I can't do that. It's sewn on." Jacqueline was not only pleasant to chat with as she quickly brought me back from wedding nightmare dreamscape, but she walked me through exactly what she was doing. Her space was cozy and clean. Her attitude was very welcoming and funny. She is clearly an expert in the space. I wish I had gone to her in the first place and would recommend her to anyone looking to put a very special dress into expert-yet-affordable hands!
