My mom bought me these great taco socks!
    Sally V.

Who doesn't love fun socks? I like buying them as a small gift when I want to give someone a little treat. The Sock Shack has lots of great warm cozy socks, but I go there for the novelty socks. My friend is a librarian who loves cats, and I found socks with cats reading books. She loved them! I got avocado socks for my sis and her hubby, alien socks for my Ancient Aliens obsessed friend, sheep socks for my mom who knits, and yellow-eyed tuxedo cat socks for my roommate, who has a tuxedo cat with yellow eyes. Everyone was psyched about their new socks! The owner is a really nice lady and I hope her store does well in the new location on Congress St.

These are the coolest socks ever.

Just a really fun place. Somewhere you go to buy a small gift that not only says thinking of you but how much you know and love someone.

My partner *loves* coming here because he usually finds exactly what he's looking for (... and a whole bunch of stuff he wasn't looking for, but it inspires him soOooOooo he has to get all of that too). For him, it's five stars. For me, the couple of times I've been to pick up/look for something... the employees have been so, so incredibly rude. Clearly, I don't give off an artsy vibe, and they know it. One particular time that haunts me: I asked about something specific and I used an alternative term for it (but still a correct term; I had to do a quick internet search after I left to see if I really had misspoken - I hadn't) and all four employees behind the counter just stared blankly at me. I repeated my question, explaining what I needed with context so they could visualize what I was talking about, and was met with "never heard of it", "that doesn't exist", "we don't carry anything like that". I eventually found what I was looking for on my own, and when I cashed out I was met with snickers and eyerolls. "Ohhhhhhh, you meant [other term]." I felt so ridiculed and awkward and unwelcome. For me, it's a one star.

Waited a full minute before the female cashier with short auburn hair rang me up. Very stiff and refused to make eye contact, seemed bored and distracted, ringing me up for a smoke break. Next time I will purchase from Blick.

The locking and unlocking process/button worked fine but it seemed the car was turning off after me inserting the key and pressing the gas pedal to deactivate the remote as instructed. Also, I couldn't seem to get the alarm to work - I'd forgotten the "how-to." Every night I put the remote on my bedside table so I could set off the alarm and alert the neighbors to any break-in in progress. My house is very close to both my neighbors' houses, so this is an approach that could work. I've lived alone in my house for 15 years; it's definitely a safe neighborhood but there have been two attempted break-ins while I was home at night, both in 2008. Usually when someone attempts to break into your house at night they are coming for you (bodily injury), not for your stuff. Obviously that was quite a while ago but like everyone else I'm not getting younger, and so it's wise to have some preventive measures in place. Well, both issues turned out to be entirely user error (meaning my error). The first part about the car appearing to turn off after me inserting the key to deactivate the remote start was probably a result of me being in a perpetual hurry in the morning. There is an ever so slight delay between turning the key to the second position and then pressing the brake to release the remote. A less "morning-hurried" person than I would probably have never encountered the issue. Re the alarm: I'd forgotten how to activate it because I hadn't used it. There aren't any instructions (hardcopy or online) probably because the process is so simple. You make sure the car is locked, and you press and hold the locking button down. I think Jeff the manager and the techs might have been a bit bemused by all of this but they were totally wonderful, checking out my concerns and showing me in a very customer-friendly way that the remote was properly installed and working as it should. As they were reviewing the steps for the first issue with me, we all looked at the driver's side of the car and saw that the rear tire appeared to be flat. I'm not sure when that happened, perhaps on the drive to Autosound. They found a screw that had embedded itself in the tire. They graciously removed it, plugged the tire, and filled it up. The tire has been fine ever since. They didn't charge me for the visit, and they didn't charge me for fixing my tire even though that isn't something that they do as part of their routine work. They went above and beyond in customer service in every way during my April 2022 visit. I recommend them highly.

Cute place! I stopped in only because I happen to see it when I was stopping at a bakery nearby…read more I walked in and was met with two options, left or right. I went to the right and found honey for your health, honey from around the area, and different products that either had bees on it or had honey in it. I found this super neat and I spent some time looking at the different items before settling on some honey from the area. Someone did come and say hello to me while I was shopping around. But then promptly went to help someone else that had walked in. Once I made my selections I went to wait to check out, lots to look at. It seems they have some bee keeping items and also have beekeeping classes. So, all around they support bees and I love that. There was a comment made in the shop by one of the workers that made another customer feel less included, but I don't think it was meant to be offensive. But I did happen to notice it and felt well, there's some validity to what was said. Nonetheless, great place to get honey and very lovely staff.

Love, love, love this place! Having a bee keeper in the family I have learned alot about the health…read morebenefits bees and their hives can give us. Honey is sold in small and large quantities but nothing gigantic. Honey is from all over the country and many local hive producers sell their products here. What better way to support small business in your area! My favorite is the "rubie red" honey, you hold it up to the light and it's a deep red and has a fantastic flavor..yum! The store sells everything honey and bee: honey, wax, propolis, mead, candies, gift sets, honey decantors, aprons and linens, and jewlery. This store also has classes for those interested in learning this art form. In the store they have a live hive you can look at from behind glass, facsinating! People may not like the high prices ($15-30 depending on the quantity and location honey is from) but it's to support our local artisans and the product is MUCH BETTER then any honey you will find in the grocery store. It's raw and unfiltered so all the healing properties are intact. I am a regular there, going weekly during the winter months to help keep my immune system strong.
