As many others on here, Yelp requires at least one star, when this particular store deserves a negative rating. This incident I had was with their check cashing service. I typically don't have a need for this service but in my haste to bring my 3 grandchildren under 3 home after an overnight at my house I made the trek from NH to Mass without my credit/debit cards. I did have my license and my mail from earlier in the week. As I was heading home I realized I was low on gas and it would be very close to making it back home so I decided I would cash my payroll check at Walmart. I've done it before just out of convenience and didn't mind paying the $6. When I got to the service desk the associate said we can't cash this check because it's mailed to a post office box. The payer's address was not a P.O. Box, it was drawn from a local bank and was a printed standard payroll check. I have had my mail sent to a post office box for over 5 years and this was the first issue I have ever had. I asked if this was a Chelmsford Ma store policy and she clearly stated it is a Walmart Company policy. My phone was dead so I could not call Walmart's 800#. I was quite nervous making the rest of my ride home on less than 1/8 tank of gas and a dead phone but had little choice. I made it home and drove the last few miles with the alert on. The following morning I called Walmart Customer Care. To set the record straight, it is not a store policy, in fact there are no restrictions at all about the address of the payee. It must be a payroll, government or insurance claim check, must be printed and not handwritten. You must have a valid US identification or passport. Walmart's convenient check cashing is not an everyday thing but I was my last hope last night. The snotty little associate was so wrong, and had such an attitude I knew I would get no where with her. I tried to call the store manager after getting off the phone with the Walmart Customer Care to let him know immediately the erroneous information his associate was giving out and after 3 attempt and being places on hold 9 minutes the first time and disconnected the next 2 times I now know why they have such poor associates, because obviously the management at that store leads by example. Walmart Associates deal with a lot, public is not always easy, but making up policies with an attitude is why you have so many disrespecting Walmart employees. Sad that one girl set the bar so low, and the manager set it even lower by his response. read more

I am a very, very infrequent shopper at Walmart. I had something I purchased online and tried to return in store. I get there first thing when they open and there was a pretty big line at the customer service counter. For some reason they didn't have any regular registers open, and so the customer service line was for all customers. There were tons of employees who just seemed to be walking around doing nothing and yet they only had 1 guy working the return desk. So I finally get up and the guy can't seem to pull up the order, even though I printed out the email that had a bar code and the instructions in the email clearly say to scan the barcode and it should be done. So I had 2 items from 2 different orders. After about 10 minutes of doing god knows what he finally manages to make one of the 2 items show up as a return. However, in a fun little twist, apparently online ordered returned in store require manager approval? Why the hell would that matter? So I can see my whopping $9 return on the screen and I had inserted my credit card to receive it back but then we were just in limbo until a manager came over. He pages one, and calls a bunch of people. Some other employee comes over and pages legitimately 6 different people who know how to do this. Any of course none of them are there that day! So there is apparently only 1 manager in the entire store and she is MIA. So this is 15-20 minutes in at this point, there is a huge line of people behind me, and we're just stuck. Since this only 1 of 2 items I was returning I gave up and asked him to cancel the return. I can dropped it off as USPS and not have to deal with this nonsense. I'm not sure why this store is so horribly run? If only managers can override, maybe mangers should be working, or available, at the customer service desk. UPDATE: Now after trying to return it back online, it's showing in my account as "returned in store" and yet I didn't actually receive the money back. It won't let me select it to be returned online either...So this will be a fund headache to deal with. I also had 2 small things I was trying to purchase at the same time. Instead of making people wait at customer service I walked over to the regular register to pay for these items since they had finally opened 1 (yes, just one). Of course, one of my items had no price tag on it and i foresaw needing a manager to come over. NOPE, not dealing with that again. I left it behind. I will stick to online shopping/returns from now on. read more

Ok. So I admit it once again. I went to Wal-Mart today. Nothing has changed since my last visit. Still smells of Subway throughout the store. Food doesn't belong in stores. Sorry. The place is still messy, the staff still has an attitude. But they did have what all the other department or supermarkets haven't: plain, unadulterated kitchen sink sponges, not with the "rough" side to scrub pots. I bought two eight packs for about $5, so at least I have a large supply now and know where I can get them in the future. 2.5 stars...but will give 3. read more

Customer service is not very good. My mother has 2 separate electric bills for her house.I bring both bills in, each with separate account #, they only credit it to on account #, so she has over paid to much on one and neglected the other. Finally that was straightened out. I'm in line again and the clerk calls me over to her to pay the elec. bill but she calls the man behind me also, I think he was a employee who wanted to cash his check, she she's waiting on me asking me for my phone # while he's standing next to me. It also cost $1.50 to pay each elec.bill. It's not worth the aggravation. read more

Do not shop at this location after 9:15pm. They loudly announce closing time is at 10 every 5-10 min. Tonight's experience was extra special. I was on my way to a register near the exit where I was going to get 1 more item close to it. As I began my power walk I was asked if I was ready to check out. I said not yet & told the lady my plan. She (who was the cashier at the register closest to Subway) actually followed me to the other end of the store to tell me they close in less than 5 min. I let her know I heard all 3 announcements they hollered in the 10 min I was there & I wouldn't be there past 10. Meanwhile a line was getting longer at her register. Unfortunately this isn't my only gripe. They have maybe 2 hand baskets. So you either need to use a huge cart for a few items or try to juggle everything in your arms. Tons of merchandise doesn't have prices so you have to hope the price check scanners are working (which they were not tonight). All the while not dropping your arm load. And that's assuming they even have what you need. I personally find their inventory pathetic. And beware of stockers rolling around loads. They are too are in a hurry, can't see around the stacks of boxes they are pushing and just may mow you down (usually while talking to a coworker). Whenever possible I go to Tewksbury. Or, if I can, I pay extra for the staples elsewhere knowing I won't be hastled, run over, annoyed or leave with a headache from an associate screaming over the P.A. that they are closing in 10 min, 5 min, 1 min... read more

Yelp makes you give at least one star to post a review otherwise I would give negative 5 stars! I purchased tickets over the phone via ticketmaster and opted to pick up my prepaid tickets from the kiosk at Walmart. What a mistake!! Firstly, the kiosk is not self serve. From the moment I entered the parking lot it was a nightmare. It took about 20 mins to find an associate who could assist me and when I did the woman cancelled my order bc she didn't know how to use the ticketing system and was pressing random buttons. Long story short, I spent another 25 mins on MY phone with ticketmaster to resolve the problem. My tickets were prepaid and I was repeatedly told by the associate that I had to pay again so the tickets could be printed. Finally someone else stepped in and printed my tickets on flimsy walmart register receipt tape. The whole experience was horrible. Not to mention the parking lot is a complete cluster!! The store is a free for all and customer service is non-existent! Needless to say, I will not be back! read more

I did receive a follow-up phone call from the temporary store manager. He apologized for the service and condition of the store. He stated Walmart was going to work to improve that store and staff it with more employees. read more

This has got to be the worst Walmart i have ever experienced. I ordered a 1 hour photo and three hours later I went to pick it up they said it wasn't ready. I asked because I could not come back later if they wouldn't mind printing them for me while I waited in the store. They said no and that if I wanted them that day I had to come back later that night around 5pm, which was several hours later. I sat out in the parking lot debating what I should do. I tried calling the store and asked if nothing could be done?! I was transferred 3 times and was on hold for about 20 minutes waiting for the store manager. I had called back thinking I was forgotten and was placed on hold again and again. When I finally got someone they said they had a customer in front of them and a line. I told her that I was a customer too and needed help. She basically said that she could not help me and I told her not to put me on hold. Finally I was told the store manager wasn't available and I asked if someone could just make a decision to help me out. Finally a nice person at customer service ( although it's really a returns desk) helped me and finally got someone to expedite the order. I really thought that everyone was very unprofessional and had no clue what customer service actually meant. Basically do not shop at this Walmart! read more

This store is dirty at best. The customer service is terrible. They never have enough staff on, so the lines are way too long. I tried to return something that I bought at the Walmart in Tewksbury but they would not let me even though I had the receipt. They told me that they don't carry the rug in their Walmart so they couldn't take the return??? Aren't they under the same ownership? AWFUL!!! Will be shopping at Target! read more

I used site to store shipping on a blender I purchased online. I received the email that it was ready for pick up and went into the store the next day. There were no employees at the desk where site to store is handled and pressing the debit machine to "alert an employee" of my need for assistance did nothing because I stood there for ten minutes. At least three employees walked straight past me until one finally asked if I was all set and searched for somebody to help me when I answered no. It took another 5 minutes for a woman to come help me, she was friendly enough but after taking my information she disappeared to retrieve my item for 15 minutes and then came back saying she could not find it and asking me what exactly I had purchased. At this point my patience began to wear on me because another employee went to help her and they did not know how to handle the situation at all. They told me I should leave and they will call me if they locate the item. After leaving the store I went to the nearby gym and no joke 5 minutes after i walked in the door to the gym a walmart manager called and said she located the item and i should go to the service desk and ask her for her when i return. I went back to the store less than an hour later, waited in line at the service desk just to be sent back to the empty site to store desk and wait again for a different employee to ask if i was all set after a handful walked straight by me. At this point I was upset because the manager had used a walkie to inform them i was coming and still my presence went unnoticed. By the time I was actually given my item I had wasted over an hour of my time including both trips i had to make at the walmart store using the "fast, easy in store shipping". It wasn't easy and saved little convenience. I wont be ordering from walmart anytime soon, and have learned to fork up the 5 bucks to ship things to my house if there is a next time. read more

Every time i come here theres like 2 or 3 cashiers working, with lines at the cash register like 10 people long.... I have stuff to do and dont have time to be waiting literally 30 minutes just to buy a gallon of milk just because your trying to save money on labor. Worst Walmart ive been to in a while. SO BAD! DON'T GO HERE! The staff are so horrible it made me want to jump off a bridge. They didn't know how to communicate with the customers, and most didn't speak English. The clothing items were a complete mess, so everything was tangled and hard to find. I regret going here. read more

This store does not keep on top of store pick-up orders. If you ever want an in-demand or sale item be wary because they will sell your item out from under you (even if your order was first). Of course there is no other shipment coming in, so the customer is left high and dry. The management is rude, but I wouldn't really care about that if they actually did their job (aka tracking orders). The combination of bad-manners, lying and useless staff make this store a place I'll seldom (if at all) visit again. read more

I called the store to find out if they had an item I needed in order to save a trip if they didn't have it. Their phone rang so long before they answered I was about to hang up. When a very polite woman finally did answer, she transferred my call to the department I needed to speak with. No one ever picked up my call. DEAD AIR. Say whatever you want about this Walmart but there are not things that I'm gonna say that are nice.My 8 year old daughter had bites on her leg and stomach.Then took her to the doctors and he said they were in fact bed bug bites on her.We were at Walmart me, my daugter and cousin and saw a bed bug in sporting goods.And after we left the drum hill walmart I started noticing bites on her after we shopped at this god for saken awful Walmart!It takes forever to return stuff,I see countless of cups on floors,shelves.I'm always put on hold for very long.If you don't want to experience this please i urger you shop some where else.Because us 3 will read more

The Customer service people here are not at all helpful. i bought my camera and after two months it got a repair. For me to claim the manufacturer warranty, i need to have my original receipt or the store need to help me with the sale receipt. The customer service people out right said that it will take time and we will not be able to help you. read more

sucks. store is always a mess. carriages are always all over the parking lot. Trash all over the place outside. people are unfriendly and unhelpful. Lines are always extremely long. Have been there a few times to grab an item quick and have to leave without it the lines move so slow. I only go here for last resort. read more
