Used to come here when I lived here and parking is alright all the way in the back where you got to make a long walk. Shopping carts are scattered everywhere in the parking lot so you can grab one. They got a lot of parking spots here all sandwiched around the store. This Walmart is very boring and you can find good deals here with the Walmart brand called Great Value. Great Value got cheap clothing that is very comfortable and relaxing especially pajamas and workout clothes with the sweats and shorts. I always come here to get packs of fruit of the loom underwear. Very affordable. Also on Christmas, decor is very affordable and they have a huge section of ornaments and decorations in Walmart. They got a Halloween section too with Walmart exclusive decor! Also almost every Walmart got a Subways sandwich store by the entrance so in case you're hungry then you can grab a bite here. read more

Issues with delivery on walmart plus orders. They don't get fulfilled, or I get emails that the order was delivered and it was not. Walmart plus subscriptions are useless if they cant fulfill and deliver the order. It is a waste of money. Walmart delivery can not and does not compare to Amazon and never will. I have had two issues with the last two orders. The last order saying it was delivered and no delivery driver even showed at my home. They did refund, but not worth the hassle or the walmart plus subsription. Don't waste your time and money. read more

I went there today to have 2 tires installed. Upon arriving, they said it would take 30 to 45 minutes. We'll I arrived at 10:50am(appt was for 11am) and left 12:50pm. He could not take the lug nut off the tire on the front driver's side. He claimed it was too tight. Then he told me he would get me out in the next 20 minutes and that didn't happen because they printed out the receipt where it showed no charge. I told them there has to be a charge because he changed one of my tires. He attempted to write up a whole new ticket twice. But while doing that, entitled customers felt that they should be taken care of before me and he entertained their entitlement. The female at the desk rang up items for a guy who was suppose to be behind me in line, again putting my issue on the back burner. Then the tech started up a ticket for a new female customer who came after me, again putting someone before me when my issue needed priority. After all of that, they printed my receipt, I entered my car but they kept my key. So I asked where's my key, but the greeter guy said you have to show me your paid receipt first. I did and they gave me my car keys. But here's the kicker...the caucasian female before me did not have to show her receipt. He simply said here's your key to her but I had to show my receipt after being delayed and treated like a second class citizen. Thought the nonsense was over, but it's not over at Walmart in Centereach. My honesty did not matter and I should have been treated with respect, which I was not. I'm going to try Walmart in Setauket. Let's see what happens there. They may catch a lawsuit!!!!! read more

Sal is AMAZING! Provides excellent customer service! Not sure if he is the manager or the head of the auto and service department but he helped me out, knew everything. Inside i was having trouble looking for windshield wipers and I wasn't sure which ones to get or how to find the ones for my car because he told me that they either clip on or go straight on. So he stopped when he was doing helped me find it and then told me to pull up in the garage and he would install them for me. read more

I made an appointment for an oil change. I received an email and a text an hour before my appointment. I arrived 15 minutes early and pulled into the lane to wait. There were two employees in and out of the two cars they were in the shop. About 10 minutes after my appointment time the guys pull the cars out and one of them comes to my window to tell me they weren't going to be able to complete my oil change that day and I could try to call another location. When I asked why they said they were behind on the customers with tire appointments and they need to do those. As if this wasn't a bad enough experience, the next day I receive an email asking me if I want to reschedule since I missed MY appointment. How dare you blame this on me? I don't know the real reason behind everything that happened but I know that it seems like they didn't want to stay late even though they were behind and then blamed it on the customer for not showing up to the appointment. It is not a good look for Walmart or this location. Go to the East Setauket location, they saved me that day by getting me in for an oil change! read more

This is a Decent Walmart that meets most of my needs. Automotive, Hunting, Fishing, and Hardware isles are usually well stocked so Bill is somewhat a Happy Camper. Plenty of Gift Giving Ideas here as well: Nothing says I Love You like a 12 inch Survival Knife or a Couple Boxes of Ammunition. They also sell a large variety of BB Guns to satisfy Junior's wish list but I would warn you that he's probably just gonna shoot his eye out with that thing. Every Day items are usually well stocked here, things like bottled water, paper towels, paper plates, disposable coffee cups, and napkins. Sales Associates at this Walmart are Friendly and Helpful for the most part. You will be challenged at peak times to find a fast moving check out line but that's all part of the Walmart experience these days, isn't it? read more

I was shopping for a new vacuum at a Walmart store at 161 Centereach mall Centereach Ny 11720. (November 7th Around 3:30) I Scanned the barcode on the shelf under the display of the vacuum,(as we are in the digital world now) it shows 198.00 at this store on my phone. You scan the box it shows 299.00. ( Big difference) So I spoke to an associate and she got me a manager. I spoke to the manager and she said she can't do anything for me. I then asked for someone higher, she came back to me and said they said same thing. (This was a Coach I didn't get his name either) I then asked to see him in person to explain that half of the vacuum aisle was not only miss labeled as in wrong vacuum display, but all the price tags on shelves were incorrect and miss leading. I asked if I could get the vacuum for 198.00 due to the stores error of vacuum they don't even carry anymore on shelf. (Showing specs of old vacuum with new vacuum displayed on top of it. No other label for the new vacuum) He said he couldn't discount or give me that price at all. Was very rude and did not care about my concerns. (Said that's not his problem but who ever sets up the displays) I advised them I will speaking to corporate, and that is considered false advertisement. I feel very disgusted with Walmart and will not be getting my business. I have plenty of other places I can shop ;Amazon, target, Best Buy etc). Is this a in-store scam, bad management/ laziness, are they understaffed? Who knows...but they need a new management. If the management is horrible what does that say about the workers? Are they being treated fairly? I think this store needs Human Resources to do an investigation. I've had other experiences there but got them resolved. On aug 28th, my friend bought some ammunition and told me there was 30 boxes left. 18 mins later I get there and they were all gone, the clerk said he sold it all to one customer! There's a limit of 3 per customer but Walmart employees just don't care! I drove an hour to get there just to see the incompetence of your employees. You can ask the employee yourself 4pm Saturday 08/28/2021. Ask him where the 30 boxes of federal 22LR box of 325 count for $18.73 a box went? I am shocked and appalled at how I was treated during my most recent shopping experience. I shopped then scanned my items myself while the " standee/watcher" looked over my shoulder. The scanning area was dirty and wet so I mentioned this to the employee who cleaned it off for me. I think these areas should be cleaned after every transaction. This would be healthier, safer, and lead to a better appearance. I finished my transaction and proceeded to leave the store. The lobby doors opened and that's when some random person wearing a black sweatshirt stops me and asks for a receipt. I replied with " do you even work here?" There was no Walmart uniform, no badge, no security clothing, nothing; just a random person asking me for my receipt. He then said "oh, " and pulled out a Walmart badge. I placed my receipt and my sixteen cents change in one of my shopping bags so I needed to dig through my stuff to locate the receipt. I located it and then this random person starts going through my bags. "They" are now pulling out random items. As a licensed New York State security guard, this is not how one should go about conducting business. One does not handle an interaction the way this person did. They should not be sticking their hands in my bags due to danger. What if I purchased something sharp and this individual got hurt? I'd be held responsible. And why are you questioning certain items? He pulled an item out, looked at me, and I said " $ 6.78, about 5th from the bottom of the receipt. " I don't know what they were trying to accomplish here but this did not make for a favorable shopping experience. I recommend implementing a training system where so called employees know how to interact with customers. They need to follow a strict protocol of introducing themselves, wearing the appropriate attire, and informing customers as to what will happen. I called corporate several times and have yet to receive a follow-up call from anyone in the Centereach location. I was told that the cameras were going to be checked and someone would reach out to me, this happened on Sunday and it is now Friday. If management is not concerned then obviously their employees are going to follow suit. If they were that concerned, they wouldn't have customers acting like employees and ringing up their own items. I spent almost $100 and will not be stopped like one of your criminals. I will be taking this matter to the next level! read more

This review is strictly for my visit on 9/24/20. While driving near Walmart I decided to stop by & pick up homemade ice cream supplies. I went to the kitchen department to find ice cream makers and other supplies and an employee brushed me off & told me that it's out of season. I went to the food section to find out what basic supplies I would need. I saw an employee joyfully helping out a customer in the food aisle & she said, " let me know if you need help with finding anything else". I thought, great, someone who's happy to work. I then asked her, Kris, for assistance. She was extremely helpful and told me where to find several items that I needed. For the most part staff in Walmart Centereach are pretty nice, or pretty rude. There seems to be no happy medium. But so be it, I felt compelled to write a review on Kris and how she treated me, my pistachio ice cream was a hit in the blender! Lol. read more

I was driving through Walmart parking lot when I got a screw in my tire. I went into Walmart's automotive dept to have it fixed. They said they couldn't fix it because it was on the sidewall of the tire...it was not. Then they said I needed a new tire but they couldn't help me because I didn't have an appointment. So I was stuck with a tire loosing air and trying to find someone to help me. I found a tire repair place in Selden and they fixed it with no problem. Thanks for nothing Walmart. read more

Well I won't be going here anymore. Too many problems at the register. Double charges and wrong amounts. It's hard to get around with carts everywhere. I miss the Super clean Florida Walmarts. And not this locations fault but their website is annoying now with the non Walmart Vendors. Even when you click "In Store" only it still gives you results for private vendors. I rarely use it now. I used to defend Walmart all the time because,again, pristine Florida stores. But now that I am back on LI I can't do it anymore. If Target can be clean and pleasant so can they. Yeah. This store is a mixed bag of good savings and dirty conditions. Not all, but many of the Walmart stores on Long Island - such as this one - are just so unkept and even dirty that they're very unpleasant to shop at. Some departments have broken displays, some aisles have boxes torn open, and overall it's just not a terribly good shopping experience... except for the savings. Let's also add that I don't think I've even not seen drug addicts in the parking lot begging for money. Today on my way in a man was harassing a woman for a cigarette. She said no several times and he started offering her a quarter or fifty cents. I don't know the end result, but what a weird exchange. On my way out an older woman knocked on the car window asking me for money. She didn't accept my attempt at a polite "no" until I was firmer and said it three more times. I like going to Walmart when I'm out of the state. But here locally, I rarely go and now you know why. What a shame. read more

I love coming to this location because of the bargains I get here. I come here because they have everything and anything I need and I can get it all in one stop which is super convenient. Only thing that would make this Walmart better for my needs is to add a grocer section so I can eliminate making those double stops to Walmart and then the grocery store. The quality of the store can definitely use some fixing. The store seems just very dirty in general compared to a local target I would attend which they need to work on. If I were able to get the same feeling from going into target as going into Walmart it would make this review so much better. The staff here is okay but nothing special to be honest with you. Some of the people ringing up on the cash registers are extremely slow which can be annoying if people are in a rush. Overall I enjoy this place but it doesn't deserve five stars. read more

This used to be my go to store to run my errands. Now it's so hit or miss. Most days a miss. The issue is that they don't restock the shelves enough for the products I buy. Whenever I come I end up having to leave and go to another store. They didn't have my hair dye, the coffee we drink, the Mac n cheese my son eats, the baby vitamins he takes, the stain remover we buy, the protein bars we eat. These are all common popular items that are stocked in all major chain stores. We tried ordering ahead with in store pickup. This worked for a while and then all of a sudden became an issue. They would hire only one online order employee and if that person didn't show up for the day the order wouldn't get filled. It became more inconvenient. I wish this issue would be fixed. read more

Don't get me wrong I love Walmart especially this one in Centereach, they sell some good Latin grocery's. But there payments transactions are a bit sketchy. A few months ago my mother went to buy some groceries and when paying with her card it got declined. She tried again and then it went through. But when she checked her bank it doubled her total. Apparently, the first transaction did go through but for some reason it said it didn't. She asked for a refund but all the Walmart did was ban her from using her card there. Now last week as I was shopping for Christmas bags and wrapping paper. Total was $7.68 but when I checked my bank account it said I payed a full $9. The self check out machine said my total was 7 but my account said I paid more then that. This Walmart is good but my advice would to not use credit or debit. Pay with cash. And maybe stay away from the self checkout machines read more

The epitome of what the ugly American suburbanite is can be found at this Walmart. It's located at the back of a mediocre suburban strip mall shopping center that has not changed all that much over the past two decades. The store itself is usually unorganized, lacking in certain merchandise when you really need something, and the staff is not all that much helpful. Oh, and the parking lot is an ordeal in ineptitude since most drivers out here ignore the rules of the road and are inconsiderate nimrods. I really hate this store. Every time I am here it makes me remember why I escaped the burbs all those years ago and headed into the city. Today brought back flashbacks as I walked the aisles and viewed the freak show of subhuman suburbanites with their annoying screaming kids and cart fulls of housewares, clothes, and assorted food items. I've been to this one plenty of times & with all the horror stories I have both seen and witnessed about Wal-Mart as a whole, I'd say this store is probably decent for a Wal-Mart. At least, today's experience was. However, you will find that they don't restock their shelves too frequently. We were looking for laundry bags & didn't really find anything adequate. If you need something more basic & lower tech at a fair price, though you will likely find it. We managed to find a couple long sought after items but whether those products retain a long shelf life remains to be seen. This was also the Wal-Mart where I purchased vanilla extract that when I got home & opened the box, was LEMON extract. Quality control tends to be sorely lacking in Wal-Mart as a company. Don't bother going to Newton Walmart to get a flat tire fixed. Took my Jeep in yesterday, with screw in it . First I'm a retired mechanic of 40 years so I know what kind of shape my tires are in. First thing the guy does is measure the tread at the top of the wear bar not the bottom of the tread. I know my tires are a little more than half tread so that didn't fly. Then he tells me they are weather checked to bad and I need to buy new tires and they couldn't fix mine. These tires are only seven years old as they were put on when I bought the vehicle in 2014. Am totally fed up their BS. Went to Goodyear down the street and tire was fixed fixed in about a half Hr. When I do need new tires I damn well wont be buying them at Walmart. read more

Not only are there never any live cashiers at this Walmart, today I tried to arrange an order for pickup which failed also. My daughter ran over on her lunch break to get my items promised at 12:11. At 12:25 after she left the spot they were ready. She goes back after school at 3 pm and we can't check in to curbside pickup so I call. The employee on the phone has no record of my order despite me having three emails from them saying it's ready. No manager available to talk to and now they want my daughter to come into the store. For what reason, she has the same email I do! No one wants to wait on a 30 person deep self checkout line because they won't hire employees. Store manager is off today and no one else will pick up the phone. When I cancelled the order it sent me confirmation so clearly my order was in the system. I was at the store with my girlfriend and we just moved into our new apartment. We are very excited and having a wonderful day. To our surprise when we asked a gentlemen in the back to help us with purchasing two televisions we likes he said follow me and ran into the back employee only room. All the employees had a bad attitude and we're nasty, it wasn't just their verbal responses it was their nonverbal responses. It seems like none of them wanted to be there. Much better than the Walmart in Islandia! Cleaner and better stocked although still not terrific by any means. I spent some money but not much and still came away with things I wanted: PJs, sweat pants and a watering can all for the low price of $36 which I thought was good. Mike and Edwin and some of the other automotive team helped fixed it and saved me so much. They really cared for me as an individual and got a difficult job done. I had sent photos from online to the photo center on three separate occasions. Each time there was a problem. First they had no record of the photos being sent from online. The second time they had no record of the pick up person being acceptable to pick up the photos (this is set online) I had to call the photo desk and give all my info so they would allow my wife to pick the photos up. The third time was the worst. I got two e-mails saying the photos were ready. When I go to pick them up they said that they hadn't even started the print yet. Then they tell me that the photos I had were professionally taken and would need a copyright notice. These photos were taken in a local park by my mother who hobbies in photography. They would not allow me to take the photos and to get a refund I had to wait in customer service. The WORST experience when it comes to photography. Otherwise the store is always packed with customers. Some times it is so crowded it is hard to move down even the main, large, aisles. The crowd is also a little shady but that is likely due to the area this Walmart is in..Centereach. read more
