This place is a hidden gem for most people in the Brainerd Lakes area. It looks like an updated diner with big windows that let you watch the airfield. The food is mostly scratch cooking with homemade breads, cinnamon rolls, and desserts. I love their egg dishes, corned beef (house made) hash, and their French toast (sometimes made from caramel rolls), and the local Manoomin porridge (thing amazing oatmeal merges with granola.) For lunch, think traditional sandwiches and burgers (which are way above average). The cafe is a laid back, little place tucked into one of the airport's wings. The room has large floor to ceiling windows which means lots of natural light and the chance to watch airplanes come and go while enjoying your dining experience. The pancakes are thick and soak up syrup like a sponge while the omelettes and breakfast platters come with golden crisp hashbrowns cooked to perfection. Best bang for your buck would be the large caramel or cinnamon rolls. Huge roll for only $3.95. Not a bad place with good service and a unique setting.
