The mechanics…read moreare without a doubt the most incompetent and questionable people that I have ever made the mistake of letting touch my truck. I have always done the maintenance on my truck myself but a few months back my oil was due for a change and my wife and I had to make an unexpected trip to Pittsburgh for a family emergency. So I went against my personal code and decided to go to a garage and unfortunately "George's Tune Up" was the only place that could get my in the next morning. When I arrived I should have known not to turn my truck over to them but as I said we had to be in Pittsburgh that day and I did not have time to do it myself. My appointment was at 8:00 a.m., I arrived at 7:45 Andy the owner (I'm assuming) showed up at 8:20. He was driving the same type of truck as mine (which was in rough shape) and when he got out without so much as a "hello" he pointed and said "I'll give you $50 dollars for your wheels and rear bumper". It was at this point that I could tell that he was high. His eyes were blood red, he was slurring his speech, and he smelled of marijuana from 10 feet away. Again I knew that I shouldn't turn my truck over to this guy but as I said I had to be in Pittsburgh that day and the clock was ticking. I thought "well the comment about the wheels and bumper must have been a joke" (it wasn't, by the way), and he obviously partook in taking illegal controlled substances, but I pushed my worries aside thinking maybe he I said just a manager or supervisor and that he doesn't actually work on the vehicles. (He does I found out) Anyway to make a long, and very agrivating story short I took the truck to Pittsburgh and back but I noticed I that it was running a little hot. So when i got home I checked it out and it was at that point that's I found power steering fluid in my radiator. This ignoramous was actually so out of it that while topping off my fluid levels he added power steering fluid into my radiator expansion tank. It still has me outraged and as I said this happened several months ago and it's taken me this long to write a review because,frankly it took this long to calm down from the whole experience just to keep a level head while writing this review. So to sum this all up don't ever go to George's Tune Up the best thing to do is handle the maintenance yourself if you have the time and know how. If you can't I would strongly recommend taking a short drive out Baltimore Pike in Cumberland, MD to Twiggs automotive they're really the only mechanics in the tri-state area that can be trusted not only to charge a fair price but to also complete the job correctly with no worries of mistakes, such as adding power steering fluid to the radiator. I hope this's review helps to save someone from the same headache I got as a result of using George's Tune Up. Thank you.

When I said something about it taking so long, the two guys, neither had any identification and were dressed unprofessionally, smarted off to me. One, who I think was the service manager, said, "Well, bud, we squeezed you in. If you'd had an appointment would have been different." Well, "BUD" I DID HAVE AN APPOINTMENT. What happened to addressing customers as "sir," or "Maam"? This was the most rude and unprofessional bunch of yahoos. I called them & asked if they could take on my vehicle. They said yes. Within 2 days I had an estimate that they could get it done in 5 days as well as the price they were going to charge my insurance company. My insurance company allowed me a rental for 45 days. I was thrilled....however my excitement was short lived. I went in their establishment 2 weeks after dropping off my vehicle only to be told they couldn't get my car into the garage because they didn't have my keys. They said someone came in claiming to be my daughter & they just gave these individuals my keys. Didnt follow them out, didnt ask for any verification, nada. These individuals ransacked my car & stole my keys. I asked to see the cameras to identify who these individuals were. They refused, said that it had been at least a week & a half since my keys were given away & that it was to much video footage to review. I proceeded to ask why wasn't I contacted when my keys weren't brought back. I was told "oh so many people come in & out of here everyday, we thought you knew". I contacted local law enforcement & they said there wasn't anything that could be done. I then went higher up & contacted the state police. Magically after calling the state police my keys miraculously reappeared later that same day. After a month has gone by i call to inquire about my vehicle. I was told my vehicle wasn't on the books & they would work on fitting it in. However when I called in December they stated they could get it done in 5 days. After 45days my insurance company stopped paying on the rental. So I was stuck paying $316 a week for the next 2months. Well 3 months later & $1000s of dollars wasted I finally received my vehicle back. I wouldn't recommend this business to my worst enemy. Thank you to my sister who reminded me of these wonderful details."You forgot some details... like your vehicle never moved from the day it was brought in on a tow truck until the day the nice insurance adjuster called to see why you did not have your jeep back. That same day your vehicle mysteriously disappeared behind their shop, again the 1st time it was ever moved since being on their lot. This was after speaking to the insurance adjuster about having it moved to another garage that would have the work done within the next week. Also, you forgot that they asked for another $3300 from the insurance after the adjuster spoke with them... stating there was more damage than originally quoted for in December."

I called the local AAA certified mechanic, and he referred us to Steve at Action Towing. Steve was responsive, kind, and considerate. He jumped into action. Drove out 40 odd minutes to our location, and towed us another 30 minutes to the only tire shop in the area that was open at the time. Friendly, efficient service. Reasonable charge. We were very lucky that Steve Davis, owner of Action Towing was called to the scene to pick up our car. We could not get a rental car since it was after noon on a Saturday and the only full service rental car agency in the county had closed for the weekend. Steve called around for some other alternatives and when those did not bear fruit, he went to incredible lengths to make sure we had a vehicle to drive for the remainder of the holiday weekend and beyond if we needed it.
