Over priced $135 to replace 2 tires off the car. Charged for sweeping the door and clean up and miscellaneous shop supplies

Once again Mr. Tire in LaVale came through. This time it was an emergency. My dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree. I was only a few blocks away. I called and they were still open. I was nearly in tears. I handed over my keys and the service advisor came back. When he handed me the printout, I was stunned, because it was the same thing that had happened to my 2013 SUBARU three years earlier. The SOLENOID had gone bad. Again. After only 20,000 miles. Anyhow, Mr. Tire doesn't do that work. He suggested I get it towed. My son on the phone said drive it home. The advisor at Mr. Tire was RIGHT. I didn't make it home. A $100 flatbed tow later, I was home. The good news? Mr. Tire did not charge me a dime for running the computer analysis. Those guys are great. read more

My front brakes were locking and the rotors needed replacing. I was able to make an appointment in the afternoon, drop off my car the next morning and it was finished that afternoon. The estimate they provided was reasonable, and the repairs came in at $200 less. Staff were friendly and drop off and pick up quick and easy. Made a appointment and Took my car to get a check engine light looked into, a oil change done, and my oil pressure light diagnosed they diagnosed my check engine light then told me my oil pressure light wasn't turning on even though I informed them they had to wait for the car to heat up until it turned on they shrugged it off as nothing turns out my oil pressure sensor was bad costed me $155 there's to many other auto service places nearby for you to go here and deal with that. read more

My wife ordered tires for her explorer and had them delivered to the LaVale Mr. Tire store for mounting and balancing. When we dropped the vehicle off we were told that the tires never arrived and the only option were the tires they had in stock, which were significantly more expensive. We'd recently relocated here and had to have a vehicle inspection for registration which was expired so our hand was forced. After the much more expensive job was complete, we requested return on the tires she had ordered and, surprise surprise, they were confirmed as having delivered to the LaVale Mr. Tire. I'm sure the gents working there are good guys...but the business policies they're abiding by are manifestly dishonest. read more

My Jeep was making a noise that was incredibly annoying and getting progressively worse. I figured it wasn't anything serious, so I didn't want to put too much time or effort into it, but I still wanted to get it checked out. I called Mr. Tire on a Thursday afternoon, and they were able to schedule me in late Friday morning, pretty impressive considering I know of several dealerships with much larger garages that are usually scheduling 2-3 weeks behind. After handing over the keys, I sat down in the nice clean waiting area, and less than 5 minutes later they had my car into the garage. Less than 10 minutes after that, a mechanic came in to explain that the cause of my annoying noise was as simple as the muffler clamp (which had just been installed by another shop 2-3 months earlier) needing tightened down a bit more. No charge, and I was back on the road, noise-free no more than 20 minutes after I had pulled into the lot. I'm sure there are lots of good mechanics in Cumberland, but Mr. Tire is remarkably easy to work with, and seems to be run by some nice, honest guys. They'll definitely be my go-to mechanic for the rest of my time in the area. read more

This is the first review I have EVER left for any business. After having a flat tire on run flats, I showed up to the Lavale Mr. Tire location. I went there to have one tire fixed. I was told I needed to replace all 4 tires, and they refused service to replace the one tire needed. I felt that I was being profiled due to driving an Infiniti and being a woman, especially after them commenting "oh wow, an Infiniti". I've had single tires changed at Infiniti where I lease the vehicle a year after I leased it, and then a different tire 2 years after my lease date. At no time did an Infiniti service technician ever refuse to do service to replace my tire as Mr. Tire did, claiming that the vehicle was AWD. Needless to say, the vehicle is intelligent AWD and operates on the rear tires and doesn't have the front tires kick in until needed. They saw they could possibly get more money out of me as I was backed into a corner with very little options. I had my boyfriend show up, and he even questioned their tread depth measurements they took to refuse service. Had my boyfriend taken my wheel off, and taken the tire in with a new tire, they would have changed it with no problem. He also called corporate, and argued with them that he'd gone to Mr. Tire in Alexandria, VA which is where we're from and were trying to get back to, where they have replaced single tires on his Infiniti AWD multiple times with no issue!! He questioned corporates policy on refusing service, and the lady was very sympathetic until she contacted the manager at the Lavale location. At which point, it took all of 5 minutes to get to the point that it's not a Mr. Tire policy, but it's at the discretion of the individual shop. As it is typical in the automotive service industry, that they try to take advantage of women whom they think aren't knowledgeable, and will fork out the money to get it done. I denied Mr. Tire the satisfaction of taking advantage of me. So all in all, I do not recommend this particular Mr. Tire. I instead purchased a tire off of Tire Rack and had it delivered the next day to a different automotive shop. read more

I needed to get some new tires, an oil change, and a wheel alignment for my 95 F150. While I went out to go Christmas shopping, I got a call from Mr. Tire saying that my tie rods were bad and that a wheel alignment would just be taking my money. It's hard to find honest mechanics these days, but these guys care about the work they do. Not only did they take care of my tires and oil change. I asked if they could look at the bar that held my spare tire which had come off recently and I had to put the spare in the bed of my truck. They fixed it and reattached the spare for me. These guys will go above and beyond for you. I highly recommend them to anyone because they are a great group of guys who do excellent work. read more

Summary: Based on my experience, these guys are liars and cheats with horrible customer service. I strongly recommend that you go elsewhere for your car service needs. Read on for details on my experience with this awful company. I purchased two sets of 4 tires from TireBuyer.com and had the delivered to this Mr. Tire location. TireBuyer has an explicit cost agreement with Mr. Tire to do the installation, which was explicitly shown on their website as $70 and change. Because I purchased two sets of 4 tires the total cost for installing both sets was $141. But when I showed up at Mr. Tire, the person behind the counter said it was $141 for EACH set of 4 tires which is absolutely incorrect. I told him so but he insisted that it's $141 to install one set and showed my a receipt in his computer showing this to be the case. I said that's wrong and pulled up my own receipt on my computer and showed him. Still this guy is unrelenting. So I said, fine I'll call TireBuyer right now and we'll get to the bottom of this. Only then does his colleague who was standing there the whole time pipe in and say yeah, it's about $70 plus $5 TPMS fee (which the TireBuyer/Mr. Tire agreement says only applies if needed and it wasn't (see below)). So now the first guy says, belligerently, "I can put in a discount for $46 off". At that point, I didn't want them getting anywhere near my car, so I told them to get my tires (which I already paid for) and that I'm taking them away. This they made difficult, but I ultimately got my tires. I drove up to Walmart and had them install them. Total cost for putting on all 4 tires, including tire disposal and everything, was $46! You read that correctly, $46. No TPMS fee applied because nothing was was required to be done with the TPMS. This was not the first time that I or my wife experienced especially bad customer service and an attempt to bait and switch, not honor national agreements or upsell (they insisted that our Honda Odyssey required a full synthetic oil change even though the manual explicitly says it's only recommended) I will never go back there for anything. I strongly recommend that you find other service providers for your car needs. read more

If i could give them 0 stars I would. Horrible customer service, they act like it's a pain to help you out. I could tell that i wasn't being treated with the utmost respect because I'm a teenager and they probably thought I didn't know what I was talking about, which made things worse. The first time I went, I got my 2 front tires replaced, they did the job quickly which was great but within 4 days they were both flat. When going back to the store telling them about this I just got blank stares. No explanation, no apology, nothing. Never going back here. Save your time and go somewhere else. read more

My car was towed here by AAA for flat tires after a collision. Turned out there was more damage to the frame. The manager came to me and suggested that I total the car. He told me that there was a part to the sub frame that was bent and repair would cost $4000 and they couldn't even do the job because they don't do body work. He offered me $100 for the car which is an Acura with low mileage. He gave me a big, slick sales talk trying to get this deal and even lowered the price to $50 because I didn't have the title with me. I refused that offer but I did accept the $100 offer. I went to get myself a rental car and after I had thought it over I realized that something was wrong... I called a collision shop and they estimated the cost to be less than half and described the repair totally differently. I refused Craig's "deal" and had the car repaired. Mr. Tire was one of the few auto and tire service stations open on a Sunday in the Lavale/Cumberland area. Jason, the person who helped us, was courteous and helpful. They had the right tire and the price was reasonable. I was done in under an hour which was nice since they were doing a booming business on a Sunday. Thank you! read more
