Went in for an oil change yesterday around 5:30 because I figured I'd treat myself and not do it…read morelike I normally do. Less than 10 minutes in, a young tech calls me out and tells me they can't do it because my oil drain plug won't come out--and that I'd probably need a whole new oil pan. Now, if I didn't know any better, that could've turned into an expensive "fix" real quick. But that didn't sit right with me. This morning, I got under my car myself... and the drain plug came out with barely a turn of my socket wrench. So yeah--safe to say I won't be going back there again. Do your homework, trust your instincts, and don't let someone upsell you on something that doesn't add up.

I drove from San Antonio to Ennis to pick up an order for my customer. I was about 15 miles south…read moreof town when my serpentine belt broke on my Suburban. I was able to limp into town with no power steering/brakes, battery not charging and overheating. I had to stop 3-4 times to let the engine cool down. I managed to get to Chris' Auto Repair and explained my situation. They took my suburban right in and got to work. I walked to my vendor pickup point a few block away to arrange getting my order. I was back in about 30 minutes and they already had the needed parts and were nearly finished. I hadn't even asked for a quote, knowing I had to have it fixed.
