    Valvoline Instant Oil Change

    Valvoline Instant Oil Change

Had a terrible experience at Take 5 down the road - left and came here and what a difference! We…read moreuse Valvoline in NY and they're always great. Same thing here, polite techs, fast and easy, no pressure to buy additional services.

If I could've given zero stars I would've. The store location is at 1505 Finley Ave. in Davenport,…read moreFlorida. I contacted the 800 number for Valvoline to get involved. The manager of the shop Kiante called me. I've been going to Valvoline since 2023. The last two times I went to get my oil changed. I noticed the car shaking and moving really aggressively, and sounds of a ratchet gun. When I question them, they said that the drain plug was a little tight to not worry. The last time I went was the same issue, and I started to really pay attention what was going on. They started draining my oil from the top of the engine. I do not remember the person that worked on my vehicle but they said that it was normal to suck it out from the top of the engine. Last week when I spoke with the manager Kiante, he said that they do oil changes from Jeep grand Cherokee's from the top of the engine all the time and that's how it's done. This is a lie. My dad owned an automotive shop my entire life up to 2020 when he passed away. I know this is not true. When I questioned him, he asked me if I was calling him a liar. I said you're not telling me the truth so I guess you are. I thought it was really unprofessional and from that point on the conversation went bad. The manager was yelling at me and speaking to me in a very unprofessional tone. He claimed that it was not them that stripped the drain plug and he refused to take accountability. I know that Valvoline is responsible because that is the only place I ever took my jeep to have an oil change in the last 3 years. I told him I didn't want to speak with him anymore that I'd rather speak with his area manager,(Sean). The store manager then told me that he's gonna look at the video and he'll show me what happened underneath my engine. All I really wanted was for them to replace the drain plug that they had stripped. At this point, I don't trust nor believe anything He says. I've been waiting six days for Sean to call me back. Now my faith and confidence in Valvoline technicians to do the right thing is gone. I went to a local mechanic who told me that the drain plug was tight and so hard that it took him a while to get it out. He said it was way over tightened. A new drain plug cost only nine dollars and change. I got a new oil change. I had to go through all this aggravation for a nine dollar drain plug. I really think that upper management should look into these two managers and see how incompetent they are acting. Looking at past online reviews of this shop I see that there has been similar problems in the past. I can honestly say I cannot recommend Valvoline anymore especially the one at this location.

My daughter recently moved to the area and are not familiar with Take 5, not having this chain in NY. A guy came over and asked what he could do for us so we told him we needed an oil change. He was literally looking down at my daughter from his almighty High Horse and in an incredibly condescending and overtly rude tone told her she needed to back up and switch spots with another car because they had gotten there first - which would have been fine. No one would have taken issue with a polite request to move; this was anything but polite, and how tf is a guy working at an oil change place we've had zero experience with talking to us with such disdain and disrespect? We will *never* go back. There's too many oil change alternatives nearby. This pathetic and miserable guy needing to feel important just lost you business. Valvoline is a mile down the road and the complete opposite to this dump. There's more room for cars so you can wait until an attendant comes to tell you which bay to go to. Ironically once we pulled into the bay, the tech told us very kindly she had to go help the car next to us because he was brought in before us. Easy to be polite and respectful- Take 5 take note.

Pulled up and Matthew greeted me with a nice ice cold bottle of water to start. The $25 off coupon was very helpful towards my service. He reviewed the fees before getting started. And I was in and out of there! They cleaned my windshield and they offer free oil top offs within 3k miles or 3 months so I'll definitely be back!
