I was looking for a new mechanic because the last shop I went to tried to sell me something I knew for a fact I didn't need and honesty and integrity is very important to me when doing business with people. I found this shop just down the road from me and scheduled an oil change and check-up since my car hit 120k miles. I ended up having to get my serpentine belt replaced and my front brake pads and rotors replaced (which was expected based on the lovely array of noises my car was making). They had a few other replacement suggestions but made me aware which things were more urgent for safety. The best part is he took me out to my car and showed me exactly where the wear and tear was and explained every aspect. They were super accommodating and able to do my oil change, flush and replace my brake fluid, replace my serpentine belt, and replace my front end brake pads and rotors in about 2.5 hours same day which was amazing because I expected to have to leave my car or come back a different day and the pricing was very fair. Everyone at the shop is also friendly and hospitable which can be hard to come by in the industry so that was very refreshing. I'll also note that they truly showed their trustworthiness as there was a guy that was there before me getting his car checked out and they advised his car was likely still under warranty - he checked and it was so they advised he go to the dealer to get the work done for free instead of having them do the work and spend unnecessary money. I own a mechanic shop is south Florida. I took my sisters Hummer H3 with 230k miles on it there for a misfire. I expected to get hit with a high bill or some nonsense about needing a motor or $1000 in repairs since these hummers were notorious for being junk. A few months ago, I had to get my AC fixed. Turned into a $1300 bill, which I felt was steep, but Dee himself spoke to me when it was done, told me what had been fixed, and what still needed work. I had some issues because the person helping me was trying to pay over the phone - which they don't do, as a heads up - but got it sorted and went on my way. I finally made it back last week to get the second issue (still pertaining to the AC) fixed, and the service couldn't have been worse. I initially mentioned getting both that as well as an oil change done, set up the appointment, and took my car to the shop on a Friday. Guy at the desk told me it would take a few hours and should be done end of day. I call about two hours into it being there for a quote, $700; okay, fine, it's gone up a little from the initial appointment. I tell them I still want to go through with it. Day end, and I still have yet to hear back, but I'm off on Saturday and figured I could walk to the shop - it's only about a mile away - and pick up my car. When I get there, a different guy is at the desk, I tell him I'm here to pick up my car and he says "they didn't call you? We have to replace the parts installed last time, but they're on warranty so we'll cover it." I was annoyed about the call, but chocked it up to the shop being busy. It usually is. No biggie. I asked if I could take my car, he suggested that it would make it worse. Asked if I could pay, he said not until I pick up the car. I call back to the shop Monday and a woman picks up the phone, says she'll call me back with the information. Hours go by, so I call back. At this point I've missed one day of work because they're closed Sundays and I have no transportation nor the funds (outside of those saved for the car repair). I'm a little annoyed. Call back again, they're busy. Call back a third time and she says "oh for the escape? Let me check right now". After waiting on hold for a bit, she tells me the car will be ready tomorrow (Tuesday). Okay, two days of work missed. Oof. So I go in to pick up my car and they say "oh there's an issue with a condenser(?); it'll be $400. Should we fix it?" At that point I said no, and the office is quiet. I pay, get my paper and go. Dee doesn't come out to speak to me about my car, and the paper doesn't mention anything about an oil change or what still needed to be done. I'm annoyed so I just leave. My car has issues turning over; this wasn't an issue when I dropped the car off Friday, but with the new installation and the heat, I thought maybe it was just a one-off. Here I am almost a week later now, having to replace a battery which had no issues prior to the installation, so I've now sunk more than the car is worth into it just at this shop alone, and have yet to find out what else outside of the battery is wrong with it now. I wouldn't recommend this place based on the poor communication and the questionable quality as to the value of the work and the fact that I was left in the dark as to the condition of my car. read more

Had a problem with my daughter's Honda Civic Hybrid. Apparently, when you disconnect a Honda battery, it can lose sensor data that operate the front crash detection, lane departure warning, and other systems, causing the warning lights to stay on. Sometimes it will recalibrate itself, other times it has to be done by a specific scanner. Dee looked at it and determined it has to be done with Honda-specific scan tools. I have an Audi Q7 that died while I had parked it at the airport over a weekend. I had it towed to Audi, they quoted me $2200 because the battery needed to be replaced and according to their testing, so did the alternator (that would be $1600). Moreover, the part would need to be ordered from Germany so would take 10-14 days. I called Dee - he said, that it was strange that they said the alternator would need to be changed because its rare. He sounded like he knew what he was talking about and I went with my gut and towed my q7 from Audi to Dee's Reliable Auto. He fixed the car for $500, the alternator was working beautifully without needed to be replaced. Bottom line - Dee is trustworthy, will get the job done, and wont try to rip you off! read more

Great shop. They're friendly, reasonably priced, and fast. I was very pleased to find out that we had a newly opened independent mechanic in the area, as I always prefer to shop local, and have had some bad experiences with nearby auto mechanic chains. I've had belt/pulley noise in my truck for a couple years now, and no mechanic has ever gotten it to go away/stay away, but Dee managed to fix things that other mechanics had failed to permanently cure. I can't say enough good things about this place. Honest, friendly, reliable (they really are aptly named) service. We are in Florida on vacation and, as luck would have it, our car completely overheats....at 7PM....2 days before we leave. We got the number for this place from our insurance company. I'm a local resident and stumbled upon Dee Reliable Auto Repair by chance when my car's AC stopped working and I have to say my experience was absolutely top notch! First of all the shop looks great and is super clean and modern. I had no idea the shop was even there but happened to pass by while I was exiting the parking lot of Advance Auto Parts next door. Even though I pulled up unscheduled after 5pm, Dee spent over an hour doing a thorough AC diagnostic on my car for FREE ($50 to $150 anywhere else). Once my issue was confirmed he explained the issue he found and offered me several options for repair including a great price on the OEM part for which he also included a 2-year warranty. I called the next day to confirm I wanted to schedule the repair and he had the part within a day and actually reduced my original estimate because he got the part cheaper than expected. Central Florida has always been a tough market to find an honest and reliable mechanic so I can't say enough about how impressed I am with Dee and his shop. Visiting Florida from Maryland and check engine light came on and odor of oil inside the car. Called and spoke to the owner, Dee. Very kind and understanding. Took the car in next day at noon. Ran a diagnostic test and found a bad solenoid with a broken ring, causing oil to spew around the engine. He not only explained the issue, but also showed me exactly what had happened. He had to have the part brought in, repaired and out the door in just a little over an hour. Reasonable cost. The shop was very clean and the staff professional and friendly. So I got ripped off..I had a noise in my car which I knew it was the coil that needed to be changed since I have changed it before ..I called like 20 min before they close the lady said before they do anything diangnostics its 100$ I said ..ok I got there and waited Dee /the Owner came with this oh you also need to change 4 spark plugs as well ..i said it's fine i also need an oil change ..I only use regular oil change and he charged me 88$ for a synthetic one telling me that my car Only get synthetic which isn't true..finally he came up with 508$ for changing 1 coil he charged me 150$ on 1 while they normally cost 80$ for the 4 of them..i said that's sounds too much !! Then he said the best he can do is 450$ he charged my Visa !!and I still had a feeling that I was Ripped off ..I got home and I called my mechanic..that he wasn't in Orlando at the time my car had the issue and confirmed to me that the change of coils and spark plugs only takes few minutes..and the whole damage should be abt 200$ I knew it!!fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me I Will Not Go There Again it's Totally a Rip Off !!!! read more
