My family and I leave immediately and inform her we won't be back. An older gentleman (assuming he's the manager) runs behind us and apologizes on her behalf and says she's absolutely wrong. We didn't return for some time after that. Fast forward to today. We decided to go Goldbergs for bagels, just because it was convenient. The same owner comes in and sits next to a family with 4 kids. These kids were loud (normal for kids) and standing/jumping on the seats. The owner does not yell, tell them to be quiet, or even look annoyed at their family. Sad realization: owner's "be quiet and eat" rule only applies to minorities.

Their toppings are creative, I was reminded to do the review today after trying their new French Toast bagel. Yes, I know certain chain places might do a flavor like this but I guarantee they don't do it with this attention to detail. Perfect level of cinnamon and a crispy powdered sugar topping made for an amazing bagel! The owners are a reminder of what small business in America is all about. Proud of their food, consistently on site and working hard with their staff. They're genuinely nice people, always ready to share a quick comment about an upcoming game etc. Also impressive is the retention of a truly pleasant and professional staff. I highly recommend making Butterworths part of your weekly routine!
