Prices seem to be changing month by month, and now even a basic, plain cream cheese bagel--nothing special--has gone from $3 to around $5. 50% increase...excuse me?! You can literally go next door to the market and buy an entire bag of bagels for that price. A lot of people are complaining about this too. The price hike doesn't match the quality or product provided. Stay away until they rethink their approach. read more

Lox bagels don't include cream cheese apparently you have to specifically request it. Who eats Lox bagels without cream cheese? That's like eating cereal and having to request for milk. At the very least I would wish the guy upfront asked if I wanted cream cheese in my bagel had I known it doesn't come with it. read more

Ordered a Roastbeef on a long roll, lettuce, tomato, S&P, Mayo = $9.50 Noticed sign there was a 4% charge for debit or credit card SMH... OK... opened the sandwich and if there were two slices of roastbeef in the roll I'd be surprised. I will never go there again. I felt ripped off, taken advantage of and cheated. Let me start by saying, the food is decent at this restaurant. The problem is the service. I have placed a few pick up orders through Uber Eats and each time they have told me that I never placed an order. It isn't until I show them my proof of receipt that they either find my order or have to make my order on the spot and I have to wait for an additional 10-15 minutes. They are always extremely rude, and even have a sign that says "prices are subject to change without notice based on customer's behavior". The problem is not the customer it's the management and the staff. There are plenty of other bagel shops in the area with great customer service and this place is definitely not one of them. I went here because it's on my way to work and I was seriously craving some sausage egg and cheese on a bagel. Unfortunately for me this was convenient so I made a pit stop. The service is sort of harsh- they weren't very friendly. Plus the place is expensive for sub par sandwiches. My plain bagel was basically stale and hard as a rock- I don't know how I didn't chip a tooth. The filling side was minimal- the cheese wasn't even melted. The only saving grace was that it was that messy. I wouldn't come back after spending almost 6 dollars on this "breakfast" I could've went to quick check and received something I actually enjoyed. read more

I'd like to rate them higher, but there are a couple of things that are preventing me from doing so. I would rate them higher because they take your order very quickly, sometimes seconds of walking in the door there is someone ready to write your order down. I'm giving them a lower rating because sometimes you need a minute! Even if you step off the line and look up at the menu, someone else from behind the counter will start calling to you, asking if you're being helped, and you have to keep repeating that you need a minute. Sometimes I look at their menu online before I go into the store so that I can recite my order. I would rate them higher because the food is usually what I expect it to be. I'm giving them a lower rating because I've had my take-out breakfast omelette in a container with someone else's name and food item scratched out on top (I'll post the photograph). I would rate them higher because they have a "text your order" service. I'm giving them a lower rating because I'm actually afraid to use this service. I'm concerned that my order will not go through, will not be prepared accurately, and I don't want to get into an argument with anyone behind the counter over it. I've seen very minor disagreements between someone at the register and customers, and I do not want to be in that situation. Overall, I still suggest this place when I'm going to pick up a quick breakfast on my way out of town, but I go when I know exactly what I want, and I'm not in too much of a rush to wait in the store rather than text ahead. read more

I just saw the MANAGER maybe even the OWNER run after and try to PHYSICALLY ATTACK another customer. I was in the store, and the customer was calmly paying for his order. The manager talked, very rudely at him and said he didn't have croissants so he put it on a roll. The customer said, ok well I ordered it on a croissant I don't want it on a roll. The manager got visibly upset, and then charged the gentleman for the rest of his order. The customer said very politely "last time I am coming here" and the manager LOST it, chased him out of the store screaming "neva coming heya, neva coming heya again get out! The customer got in his car and was about to leave and the manager ran out after him again, screaming at him and telling him to get out of his car. He kept pointing to the sidewalk telling the customer to fight him I believe. So the customer finally got out of his car and pushed the sign over. I felt like cheering for him. Then the manager started taking pictures of his car like a teenager. There was no damage to the sign. I was hoping the customer would have done more. This guy that works here has countless times, harassed customers. I heard he does bugger sugar in the back which explains things. Everyone I speak to in town says the same thing. Oh also, the customer worked for the police department. He yelled this to the owner as he was trying to accost him. And he did have a PD thing on his plate. I hope this gets reported. I am not coming back here again And I am advising my customers as well . My company orders from here a lot. No more, this was plain disgusting. Dear Manager of Hot Bagels, in a time when we are all supposed to be supporting each other, your actions are despicable. I heard from friends that you have been selling materials such as gloves and masks. Really horrible. Nice bagel store! Very clean- outdoor seating- ample parking- friendly staff. They also hVe a lot of baked treats and they specialize in holiday/party bagels in shapes and colors. Coffee is so/so. I didn't like it and wouldn't order the hot coffee again but I'm pretty particular about coffee. They also have a deli selection for lunch. I've ordered bagels for the kids soccer team here before, they usually have a lot of bagels which is great if you come in needing a few dozen. You can also text your order in to save time- I have not tried that here before but have done so in other places. There is no credit card minimum which is nice and they offer local delivery. They have lunch specials for kids in school and they offer gluten free bagels (can't speak to how good/horrible that might be as I don't eat gluten free bagels!) Overall a great spot! read more

These guys are the best. I either pickup breakfast on my way to work or sit down and eat there - virtually every day. They always get my order right (can't say that for a thousand other bagel and deli places around) and deliver it to me quickly and a smile. Scrambled eggs are prepared the way French chefs are trained to prepare eggs - soft, fluffy, and never with a hint of burning. I LOVE this place. We used to go by every single weekend. The bagels are perfectly crunchy on the outside and doughy on the inside. Am a big fan of the whole wheat everything, marble rye, and my partner is all about the French toast bagel (which looks like it's an egg based bagel with a French toast flavor treatment). They make lots of cute bagels for the kids. Sandwiches are great. They use boars head meats. Love the scallion cream cheese. Come back for the coffee- LOVE the hot hazelnut. It has a nutty, smooth finish. They also have alternative sweetness like truvia, which is nice to see. Prices can seem a little high when you get sandwiches made, but understandable as they use high quality products. When you walk into Ridgewood Hot Bagels, it feels more like a deli than a bagel joint. Right off the bat there is someone rushing you for your order. How about you allow me to decide what I want first, before giving me anxiety and rush me. That's a big pet peeve of mine and don't enjoy it. I have been to this place a few times and have found it to be okay.The bagels always taste like they have been sitting for awhile. Their taylor ham, egg, and cheese is paltry compared to most other places I have frequented. For five dollars, they could make a better breakfast sandwich. Their basic bagels with butter or cream cheese are non-exciting, too. After having the sandwich I had at my last visit, I will not be a customer any more.
