Not only could they not stick within the timeline, but they did things so bass-ackwards that the new contractor had to redo so much of what I had been billed and paid for... for instance, before rebuilding the wall, they set the trusses. The trusses were set crooked and a couple were set backwards. Two of them broke because of the stress of being wrongly installed. They billed for full demolition, but did not complete it. They billed for clearing the crawl space and laying plastic, but it was not done. They used 2x4 for an exterior wall when code is 2'6. I could go on and on, but the biggest of all their mistakes was that they have a $30K installment that has not been used and claim they don't have to refund me. There is a lawsuit in the works. Better Business Bureau is involved. The state attorney General is aware, and waiting on others to let them know of the deceitful practices. He threatened to sue me if I gave a negative review, but the truth is something he can't defend against... His response to my complaint with the BBB: " on Thursday, July 13, 2023 The Contractor and Mrs. Johnson entered into a contract for the Contractor to provide services. The contract included a clause that stated that the entire contract amount would become due if the client stopped, slowed, hindered, or in any way prohibited the Contractor from providing work or fulfilling the Contractor's obligations. Mrs. Johnson violated this clause by refusing to provide access to the worksite, failing to provide timely approvals, making unreasonable demands, and requesting to separate from further services from the contractor. As a result, the Contractor was unable to complete the work and suffered significant financial losses. The Contractor's attorneys have reviewed the facts of the case and believe that Mrs. Johnson has violated the contract. They are currently gathering the necessary information and will be responding to Mrs. Johnson shortly with a more detailed account of the client's violations. In addition to the contract amount, the Contractor will also be filing separate lawsuits for each instance of inaccurate and negative reviews found on social media sites and government agencies. These reviews are highly inaccurate and blatantly misleading, and they could have a significant negative impact on the Contractor's business. The Contractor hopes that Mrs. Johnson will resolve this matter promptly and to the satisfaction of the contractor. If they do not hear from Mrs. Johnson within 10 business days, they will assume that she does not dispute their claims and will proceed with legal action. The Contractor is confident that they will be successful in their legal action. They have a strong case, and they are represented by experienced attorneys. They are also prepared to take this matter to court if necessary. The Contractor is committed to protecting their rights and their business. They will not tolerate being treated unfairly or having their reputation damaged. They are confident that they will be successful in their legal action and that they will be able to recover the full amount of the contract and damages for the negative reviews". I called few companies the first one quoted us 2 thousand ( yes you read that right ugh) ... the second hand man company ( a famous one with 4.5 star rating cough cough) listed by yep said it could range 1200-1800 for this job, and few other individual handyman quoted us 300-500. I am pretty handy myself, at one point I thought I should just do it instead of paying 2000 or even 1200 lol .... Due to Seattle construction boom some company charge insane amount of price. You definitely should look on YouTube , research or read on how much work it requires some to perform. You then approaches few people with some knowledge and get few quotes, It only costed 1300 for my roofer to come to re weld and fix , I was not about to pay 2k for dry wall repair. In the end We picked Valerie , he got back to me the fastest, nicest and gave me the quote ASAP. He had to come back three times and did a great job. It was done perfectly the price was extremely reasonable 350 only including material , we will definitely call him again for sure next time to paint or repair, or refer my Neighbors to him. He also had to come back 3 times on different dates and wait even. Also he is punctual and when he is stuck in traffic he even let us know. I wish more did this. Definitely one of the better home repair guys I have hired and sadly I hired too many for jobs in the past.
