Room was spacious so when you are traveling with a kid and two dogs it's nice to have that extra bit of room. Bed was comfortable and the front desk people were nice. Rooms definitely are in need of a facelift. It's not so much dirty as its just old. However it is still a nice play to stay when you are traveling through.

The crash that forced us to cancel

We booked 7 rooms to stay on the 6th day of our annual Harley trip. The morning we left Missoula en route to Wallace, my 65 and 75 year old Parent's rolled their CanAm Spyder at 65 mph down the highway suffering massive trauma. We contacted the hotel and they said they would cancel our rooms but we would still be charged. Absolutely zero Empathy or accommodation. Several calls were made to the manager but he refused to take our calls and still has not returned any messages. We have stayed here in the past but will never stay again. A few in our group did stay that night but my brother and I stayed in Missoula with our parents. The manager wouldn't even speak to anyone in our group. Avoided them during their one night stay before the headed home. The other motel we cancelled without being charged and was completely understanding. Our Missoula motel opened up our rooms even though being completely booked, cut our rates in half, and extended our stay until our Parent's get released. We are on day 4 with mom and dad still in hospital, with Dad in ICU.

Great hotel, centrally located with excellent staff and facilities. Immaculately clean although a little dated in some areas. Good breakfast service and prices. Highly recommend David who worked on the front desk, he was very helpful and recommended the smoke house to us for food which was fantastic. Bedroom large, well equipped and the bed very comfortable.

On the surface: Beautiful and inviting motel, great for families, especially if you need a place…read morethat is pet friendly. Nice staff and bonfires on site with complimentary "smores kits," they even give out sticks you can use to roast the marshmallows over the fire. Office is closed after 10pm, so plan accordingly. I initially gave the Stardust 3/5 stars as we drove back to our home at 2am because neither of us could sleep on the very firm and uncomfortable mattress, the pillows felt like rolled up newspapers. But I liked the overall aesthetic and vibe. However I'm lowering to 2/5 after communicating this issue to the hotel, on the phone they said they had no idea the beds were uncomfortable. Then in response to this review they informed us that the beds in the "classic rooms" are not as comfortable as the beds and pillows in the "signature rooms." If we had known this when booking we would have paid more and reserved a signature room. The owners response was to essentially blame us for booking a "cheap" room and suggest we should have somehow known their standard rooms have terrible beds. The real issue is that NO room should have mattresses so uncomfortable that guests flee the motel at 2am. The room in general was clean, would have appreciated USB chargers or at least an outlet on both bedside tables instead of just the one. If they invested in better mattresses and pillows this would have been a 5/5 star review. If they had been less tone-deaf and responded better to our issues I would have kept the review at 3/5.

We were on our way to Billings, Montana with our four children at the beginning of January, 2003,…read morein the evening, during a blizzard. I was six months pregnant, and driving conditions were horrible so we had to stop. This was the only motel which had a vacancy. I waited in our minivan with the children while my hubby got us a room. I was exhausted, and the kids were tired and hungry. All I wanted was a warm, clean bed to sleep in. The lady at the front desk was really nice. She showed us to our room, and gave us a little history about the place. This was a silver mining town, and a woman by the name of Molly was a "lady of the evening" here. Also, she told us that the room had recently been "rented by the month" by some men who worked in the town. She explained to us, before we saw the room, that this room was called the "Silver" room. "Hmmm", I thought, "a themed motel". She gave us our keys, and my hubby opened the door. I was literally in shock! Everything in the room had been spray-painted SILVER! The lamps, tables; EVERYTHING! The heat was completely turned off, so the room was FREEZING! There was a small heater on the wall next to the window, so my husband immediately turned it on for us. The dust ruffle to the bed was STAPLED TO THE CEILING above each bed! The floor was filthy. Our "closet" consisted of a wire hanger hanging from a nail on the wall. I was in dire need of using the restroom, so headed there next before I complained about the room to my hubby. The bathroom was filthy. So filthy, in fact, that they put a rubbermaid dish drainer rack on the shower floor so you could stand on it while taking a shower. It was old, moldy and FILTHY! I didn't even want to touch the faucet to wash my hands. The children begann to take their shoes off - that's when I had a hissy-fit. No way would I allow my children to walk barefoot or even in their stocking feet on this carpeting! We hurried and got them ready for bed, THEN took off their shoes once in their bed. After I cried for a long time, I put my coat and mittens back on, and left go sleep in our minivan. My hubby immediately followed me outside, as we still had blizzard conditions, and brought me back inside. Needless to say, I slept with all of my clothes on, and we didn't take showers the next morning. This was the most horrible place I've ever stayed in my entire life! I'm a very down-to-earth person, and I would have rather stayed in a tent than here. This is a completely honest review. Be warned: DO NOT STAY!
